  1. ^ No, I think it's pretty obvious... They've got at least 4 other kiddie/family coasters.
  2. We got the chance to ask Bob Montgomery, some questions about they plan to do with Wild Adventures in the future: LINK How is it working with the "African" theme that you don't see in your other parks such as Dollywood? Has it been a challenge to shift gears? Our wonderful sub-tropical location works great with the exotic African theme and it’s exciting to have such a beautiful park to work with. While it is a new environment for HFE, the opportunity to experience and work with something that isn't seen at other properties is exciting. Guests and team member alike enjoy the African Pridelands, Wild West, Australian Outback and Alapaha Preserve and we are happy to keep these areas in the park. Several readers have noted the waterslide-like pieces shown on Coaster101. Does this mean the park will focus on the waterpark more than the theme park? Given our southern location and long summer season, we listened to our guests and tried to deliver the park enhancements that they had requested. Splash Island is a great place to beat the heat in the summer and we know we can make it an even better experience with new rides, more shade and upgraded “comfort areas”. We are excited for our guests to see and experience the new additions to Wild Adventures Theme Park coming in 2009. Our plan for the future is to continue to listen to our guests and invest in the park accordingly. Is this addition part of a multi-year plan? Yes, Herschend Family Entertainment has a plan for continued growth and reinvestment in Wild Adventures Theme Park, and this year’s expansion is just the beginning. Was this addition ever in danger of being delayed a year like other HFE projects such as Adventure Mountain? Wild Adventures is very lucky to be able to move forward with the plans and building of the current project. This is a testament to HFE's belief in Wild Adventures and their commitment to making Wild Adventures a top destination and a great theme park. Will the park see more hands-on activities like those that are seen at other HFE parks? We hope to expand our interactive animal experiences and bring the animals closer to the guests. Will the animals continue to be a large part of the park? We will continue the animal component of the park through interactive animal experiences, Meet and Greets and animal shows and attractions. Are there plans to bring indoor shows like those at Silver Dollar City to the park? We do have live shows at Wild Adventures, and will continue that tradition. We are lucky that our animals provide so much “live entertainment” value and we hope to always have new ways to showcase this unique resource. Can we expect to see any themed attractions like Mystery Mine at the park? HFE is continually evaluating ideas and concepts to enhance the guest experience and keep the park experience fresh and compelling. This may be something we will look into for the park's future plans. Is there any possibility of a resort hotel being added in the future? We are happy to support the local hospitality community and currently there are two new hotels opening this spring in Valdosta. With those properties joining the many new hotels already in the area, we know our guests have a great collection of rooms at prices and styles to fit every budget and need. Currently we work with most of the hotels in the area to offer packages and multi-day options to make the most of a visit to the area. What is your favorite animal at the park? Favorite ride? The animals all have such different and distinct personalities. The elephants are so intelligent. Shirley, one of our oldest elephants, in her earlier years as a performer, was a water skier . Though she is approaching 60 years old, she still is a real character. We’ve got some great rides but I think my favorite is the one we are working on now. The Wahee Cyclone will be the biggest ride in Splash Island and because each tube has 4 riders you can ride with the whole family.
  3. ^ Correct. And see what's behind the police? Put two and two together.
  4. I hope she was fat to begin with (or at least blonde).
  5. Update Year 3 Welcome back! Wow, third year of OPB. Time flies! Outdoor waiting area for Hard Rock Cafe. Our table awaits! Check back soon for more!
  6. "That's not water you're standing in. You could have had it all, but you acted selfishly."
  7. I feel that when there's something new in every update it's hard to keep up with what all's going on. But things are going to start picking up because I'm going on hiatus for a while and I'm ready to finish this project. Thanks for the replies! Update Year 3 Announcement The restaurant will feature the same architectual style that is found in last year's Hard Rockin' Roller Coaster entry plaza. Check back soon for more updates!
  8. ^ Right, but I can't just add shots only when I add something to the park. That'd be about once or twice a month. This way, it's more exciting when something is actually added to the park.
  9. Update Year 2 Hello again! Today we are nearing the end of another great year at the Boardwalk! The park should be making an announcement any day now. Three coasters in one shot! Carnival might be getting a new ride next year but that's only rumor. I've also been told to look this way for next year's addition. Not a big crowd tonight... Check back soon for the big announcement!
  10. 2012 for me. I'm hoping Terminator: Salvation is gonna be awesome but I haven't seen any of the other movies. I'm about the only person who didn't like Transformers but maybe the second one will be better.
  11. That's awesome, I bet it'd be a cool sight to see.
  12. Thanks for the comments everybody! It makes all of this worth it! Update Year 2 Another night at the boardwalk. Delta Demon lights up the surrounding around it. It's quite a bright ride! Check back soon for more!
  13. Update Year 2 I decided to take the night to head over to the boardwalk to see what was happening. How often does this happen? This ride provides a great view of the lake. Check back soon for more!
  14. This is a very unimportant matter, but is there anyway to make the TPR logo centered? I don't know why that's bugging me, I guess I've got symmetry ocd.
  15. The news from Shapiro is that we'll be seeing another new coaster at SFMM in 2010. I'm making a humble prediction: that either the 2010 SFMM coaster, or the 2010 Knott's project will be the West Coast El Loco model we've been hearing about! And the other one will be a Chinese B&M Dive Machine knock-off! Hey, an "El Loco" would fit nicely in Flashback's old spot.
  16. No lag or buffering issues for me, and I'm using DSL... except when I'm trying to load two at once, and that would be my fault.
  17. 1. Quantum of Solace 2. The Dark Knight (it was a close one!) 3. Wall-E 4. Cloverfield 5. Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian
  18. I've been trying it out and so far everything's been working fine. Everybody make sure you upload your avatar! You have to do it through TPRTV as well. This is incredible, Robb. I have a feeling this will be THE "coaster tube".
  19. Update Year 2 Year number two is well underway! Barracuda seen from Hard Rockin. Aquarium is still THE place to go to here. Check back soon for more.
  20. Hey this is a hard time of year to diet! I don't know many who could lose 17 pounds in 26 days.
  21. Here are some new pictures of my new puppy Lucy: You know she's paying attention when her ears are like that! Whatcha see? This is her favorite toy right now. She's a happy dog...
  22. ^ Is there anyway to view it online?
  23. I don't know, we probably sound stupid to the "enthusiasts" of other hobbies. Except we know how to type!
  24. ^ That's funny I remember eating lunch there (their hushpuppies and fries were good) and the waitress was hard to understand. I also remember seeing a news report of Hangman getting evacuated. I'd just like to see how'd it be doing if it were still open today. (Chaos was my first or second coaster, my parents can't remember).
  25. I remember being in line for Baja... the adrenaline would run through my veins like poison. I've decided I can't return. I can't feel the same. It's changed too much. I might as well relive it in my memories, because coming here leaves little to remind those of what once stood here. Yeah, you might have The Volcanic, the actual volcano, the first coaster, but it's not Hawaiian Escape. It's pieces. Scattered pieces. There's no comparison. Hawaiian Escape was made up of: Oronga Hurtle de Zhambi Hershey's Xtreme Cup Challenge Red Zone Peregrine Zhambi Sidewinder Flyuira Duma-Paka Leopard Surf Storm Waikiki Whizzer Mine Mountain Excavation Viper Tidal Wave Riptide Tantalus Sulfur Turbulence Solar Flare Tigre And all of the other attractions that made up the park. This corporate melting pot is no place for me. Farewell, and have a merry Christmas. - Your fellow Hawaiian Escape fan.
