Andy Shine's Quiz Time
coasterdude5 replied to Simon Baynham's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
21/30. Although it could have been worse, I think I was reading a few of them too quickly (as others have done). -
The wait is over. Greenhouse: Relinquish is here. After months of hard work, I have finished the final installment in the Greenhouse trilogy. At nearly 40 minutes in length, it is one of my longest machinimas, but there is a lot of "finishing up" to do as this is the last film in the trilogy. The Greenhouse series tells the story of Operation: Greenhouse, a Nazi-like organization that seeks to end poverty in the United States. It also follows those who are fighting to bring it to an end. Greenhouse: Relinquish answers the question: "Who will relinquish?" Greenhouse or America? IMPORTANT! Before watching Greenhouse: Relinquish, you need to have seen the previous two Greenhouse films. Otherwise, YOU WILL LIKELY BE CONFUSED. Below are the links to the previous two Greenhouse films. Greenhouse: Greenhouse: Retaliate: Watch Greenhouse: Relinquish below: Watch on Vimeo: All I ask is that if you take the time to watch the film, please share with me your thoughts. Good or bad, long or short, I greatly appreciate your feedback. I will soon begin work on two other films, and I need to know where I can improve. So in short... Share your thoughts! - - - - - - - - - - - - Original Post: Greenhouse: Relinquish // Coming Fall 2012 I am very excited to announce the final installment in my Greenhouse trilogy: Greenhouse: Relinquish. Teaser Trailer Greenhouse: Relinquish follows new and old characters as an underground army led by former policemen wages war on the still-thriving Operation: Greenhouse. Deana (Greenhouse: Retaliate) reels from her betrayal of the Retaliate refugees and her late friend, Connor, and is taken hostage by the leader of Greenhouse. The war rages on as the few remaining Americans hold on to hope that their country can be saved. Who will relinquish: America or Greenhouse? The story will introduce new characters while also exploring characters from the previous two films. In the coming weeks I will be sharing with you a plethora of previews and background information. As of right now, I do not have an exact debut date in mind. However, I do expect to release the film by the end of October or early November. I'm about halfway finished with the film as of this posting. Follow me on Facebook and Twitter for special previews and sneak peeks. Learn more here: http://www.coaster101.com/cd5/relinquish

Don't forget the Tulsa State Fair Board. Fair Boards and amusement parks just don't mix anymore. Sad since it's such a win-win when things are actually done right. They've thrown millions in annual tax earnings down the drain from this poor management. Shame no one is paying attention. Add Libertyland and the Mid South Fair to that as well. It seems to be a deadly equation all around.

Hello guys, I thought since a year (and a few days) have passed since I ended Six Flags South Carolina, I would give a small update on what's going on in the fictional world of SFSC and in the world of CD5. Soon I hope to start work on a new park which will have a timeline element but will be presented in a completely different manner than any of my previous projects. I am also working on a very exciting film which you will hear more about in the coming months. You can keep up with what I'm doing on Twitter and Facebook. Six Flags South Carolina Update: One Year Later **DISCLAIMER: SFSC IS NOT RETURNING. THIS IS ONLY A SMALL UPDATE** Six Flags Conference Call Recap: Six Flags South Carolina In 2011, APOCALYPSE THE RIDE opened at Six Flags South Carolina. Commonly referred to as a family wooden coaster, APOCALYPSE THE RIDE stands only 80 feet tall, and features a 2,400 foot track course full of bunny hills, banked turns, and a spiraling first drop. The coaster was built in the space formerly occupied by the Skycoaster attraction. Both coaster enthusiasts and families alike have raved about the new coaster. APOCALYPSE THE RIDE at Six Flags South Carolina In late June of 2012, the 15-acre Hurricane Harbor water park is expected to open, featuring 25 water slides and attractions that are sure to keep guests cool during the hot South Carolina summer months. The waterpark will be a separate entity and will require a separate admission. However, Six Flags South Carolina will introduce a combination season pass which will allow returning guests access to both dry and water parks all season long. As Six Flags South Carolina looks towards the future, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation remains committed to establishing the dry park and water park as the region's top family fun destination. Two hotels are expected to open within a mile of the park in the next 5 years. In 2013, SkyScreamer will greatly change the skyline of Six Flags South Carolina as it opens in the lakeside location once home to the Firebomb and Flying Carpet attractions. The 200-foot-tall attraction will provide guests with thrilling views of the park and surrounding areas. Beyond 2013, Derecho will receive a significant facelift and rehabilitation for the 2014 season. Six Flags South Carolina is the potential recipient of one of the following large scale attractions for 2015: - Bolliger & Mabillard Wing Coaster - Intamin ZacSpin - Launched Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter Additionally, Six Flags South Carolina continues to build local partnerships that benefit not only the parks but the greater community as well. Expect these to continue over the next decade. Go Big. Go Six Flags South Carolina! You can see all of the SFSC videos here:

Searching for a Job I have some unfortunate news to share with you all. I've been relieved of my EarthQuest designing duties for an indefinite length of time as the financing for the project is reassessed. I had a gut-feeling that this day was coming, but I didn't want to dwell on the possibility of losing my job. Hopefully this is only temporary, and I'll be back soon to finish the large chunk of the park that has yet to be designed. But with the current state of the economy, investors are not quite willing to throw money at such an ambitious project such as EarthQuest Adventures. I present to you my last screens of the park. Below the shots you'll find a video I whipped up! Hopefully this isn't the last update that you'll here from me. - Greg Sky at EarthQuest Adventures will be the most future-esque area of the park. The entrance to AeroWing is certainly appropriate considering the coaster's size. The queue for Vortex will provide guests with great views of the ride. Stratosphere will blast riders towards the sky (and back down). The Blue Line will provide all guests with an easy-going tour of the area. Wii:Air will likely redefine the interactive show experience. (Insert Wii:Air controllers here!) Eat lunch after riding Vortex. Looking towards the Boeing store where guests will be able to get their airplane fix. Enjoy Sky at EarthQuest Adventures: Thank you for your support of EarthQuest Adventures!

A Day in the Sky, Part I So what will EarthQuest Adventures look like when it opens to the public? Well, thanks to technology I have been able to render the park with droves of happy guests. See below! The Sky area of EarthQuest Adventures features a complete selection of attractions, ranging from "mild" to "wild" in intensity. AeroWing can be seen from almost any point in the Sky area. Wii Air is an attraction for the entire family... ...while AeroWing is more suited for the thrill-seekers. Check back soon for the next installment in the "A Day in the Sky" series! -Greg

Hey guys, this is CD5 speaking to give you an update on what's happening with Sky at EarthQuest Adventures. Next week I will post the final updates of the Sky area (and hopefully a video). The EarthQuest Adventures project will then go on an indefinite hiatus as I focus on another park project and a very exciting film project. I hope to pick up the project again and work on other areas, but for now I need a break. Thank you all again for all the feedback on this project! -CD5 ____________ The Sky is the Limit After months of the work the Sky section is nearly complete. Sky will be home to an array of attractions that will surely please guests of all types. AeroWing will likely be one of the most popular attractions in the entire park. But we can't forget about the other attractions like Vortex and Stratosphere. The Blue Line will be great for guests who want to get a round-trip tour of the entire area. The Blue Line station will likely see many guests throughout a typical day. Come back soon for more Sky updates! -Greg

Thank you all for the feedback! A Hurricane Makes Landfall at EarthQuest One of the most technologically-advanced attractions at the Sky area of EarthQuest will be HURRICANE. I teased the attraction earlier, but this concept art does little justice for the intense attraction. The ride's show building will be themed to a weather station on the lookout for a major category 5 hurricane making its way towards the coastline. As guests queue in line, they will be treated to a documentary about hurricanes made just for EarthQuest. Guests will have the opportunity to bypass the film if lines are short. The large open space near the entrance will be home to an expansive weather-themed gift shop. But what about the actual ride experience? Guests will be treated to one of the most realistic hurricane simulators available in the world. Guests will feel the gusting wind, the blowing ocean water, the turns and flips that come with the devastating power of hurricanes. The ride vehicle will be situated in a "video dome" equipped with high quality sound and video. Guests will see and hear the real effects of a category 5 hurricane. I'm very excited about this attraction! Stay tuned! -Greg

Almost There After nearly six months of planning and design, I'm nearing completion of the Sky area at EarthQuest Adventures! Hard to believe, isn't it? The Sky area will definitely draw guests' attention as they enter the theme park. AeroWing will be almost as fun to watch as it is to ride. It's all coming together. I still have one more attraction to reveal, though, so stay tuned! -Greg

Even after a full day of not riding it, I'm still in love with X-Flight. I'm so glad Chang didn't work out so that we could get this instead. I can't wait until the landscaping in the area is finished--I think it's going to look even nicer. Does anyone know the songs that they are using for the queue/station music?

My favorite seat was the front right, although the front left was unavailable due to the video camera setup. Nothing beats seeing the keyhole element coming right at you! The very back right and left side seats also provide great rides. Below are a few photos I took from the media event today. The rest can be found online here: http://www.coaster101.com/2012/05/10/x-flight-photos-and-review/ Oh, hello there, X-Flight! You're looking mighty chipper today. The mannequins are somewhat creepy. I'd pay to spend a day up there! X-Flight is photogenic. Misty yellow jacket support makes everyone scream. It's a nice touch. The X-Flight station. Panoramicness.

I guess I was expecting it to be rather forceless, so X-Flight really exceeded my expectations. It's by no means a winged version of Batman, but it definitely holds a quick pace throughout the entire ride. I was very impressed. It will be interesting to compare it with Wild Eagle when I ride it in July.
