THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 Work continues on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. I'm working in several different areas of the coasters instead of focusing on one spot. There's no method to my madness. We'll see how it plays out in the long run. Here's another view of the interior of the show building where riders will face Bane. Notice the faux track that will lead riders to believe that they are heading right towards the villain. I've fenced in the majority of the coaster, especially the first half. Landscaping work continues. One of the first fly-through sets has been constructed. Riders will fly through Gotham City's buildings during their ride on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. The walls for the queue building are up. Guests will cross a bridge onto one of Gotham City's islands before crossing back over towards the station. Pictured above is the elongated batwing inversion. Stay tuned for more updates! THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 Work continues on this summer's THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. Support work is 95% complete, with only minor pieces yet to be added. I'm now working on several of the buildings and infrastructure that will make up "Gotham City." Two of the first buildings I completed are more for functional purposes: the two sheds that will hold the trains when they are not in use. At least one train will be on the main track at all times. During the off season, it will be kept in the main station. As mentioned in the previous update, the buildings are located at the coaster's midpoint rather than near the station. Pictured above is the most important building: the show building. Here is where riders will come face-to-face with Bane and his mercenaries. Riders will also reenter this building (rather quickly) during the second half of the ride. Water effects will be plentiful in this building. There is still much work left to do, however. In the coming weeks, I'll bring you frequent updates leading up to the coaster's completion. I've been working on the coaster for nearly a month, and I'm happy to report that the support work is nearly complete. After the trackwork is finished, I will start on the thematic elements. For a Six Flags coaster, the coaster will be heavily themed. Finally, here is another overview of the coaster. Hey guys, I wanted to share with you a few leftover stills that I took when I was making "My First Coaster." Please continue to share the film with others. It has already received over 4,000 views on YouTube! I still can't believe the exposure and response it has received. Watch "My First Coaster" below: The above screen shows the entire "My First Coaster" set. I originally wanted to have a nighttime sequence in the film, but it didn't make the final cut. Working on this slice of a park brought me back to my Charleston Gardens days. Thank you again for your support of the film. Please continue to share your thoughts. What's next for me? A few of you have asked what I have planned. I am in the beginning stages of building my next park. My final semester of college is proving to be busier than I originally anticipated. Therefore, I do not expect to begin posting regular updates of my next park until sometime in the spring. It's an exciting concept, and I can't wait to share it with you all. I am also developing a story for a film for the Halloween season that I'm very excited about. It will be based off of a popular franchise. And that's all I will say for the time being.

The Coaster That Inspired "My First Coaster" "My First Coaster" has been watched nearly 2,000 times since its release on Friday. I have been shocked by the response the film has received. I had no idea how many people would identify with the story. If you haven't done so already, watch "My First Coaster" below: "My First Coaster" is also available on Vimeo: Zippin Pippin, the coaster that inspired "My First Coaster," has a somewhat muddled history. Some reports claim that the wooden coaster originally opened in 1912 at East End Park in Memphis, Tennessee. Other dates of the Zippin Pippin's opening include 1915, 1917, and 1923. The coaster was a product of John A. Miller and included a 70-foot lift hill, a top speed of 40 mph and a total length of 2,865 feet. The Pippin, as it was originally named, was incorporated into the Libertyland amusement park when it opened in 1976. The coaster then became known as the "Zippin Pippin." It gained notoriety for being Elvis Presley's favorite roller coaster. The Zippin Pippin operated until 2005 when Libertyland closed. It stood dormant for nearly five years before being purchased by Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Unfortunately, due to the poor condition of the structure, no of the original materials were reused when the coaster was rebuilt in 2011. However, the coaster was replicated entirely by The Gravity Group thanks in part to the original plans for the coaster that were sold to Bay Beach Amusement Park. The coaster opened at Bay Beach Amusement Park in May of 2011 and has been a huge success for the small amusement park. Although nothing remains of the original Zippin Pippin, one of the original cars is on display at Bay Beach Amusement Park, along with other artifacts. Luckily, however, the namesake of the coaster and its legacy will likely live on for many more years thanks to Bay Beach and Green Bay. The "My First Coaster" version of the Zippin Pippin is somewhat modified due to the limitations of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, however, it's overall layout is very similar. My First Coaster Premieres Friday! The wait is almost over. "My First Coaster" will debut on Friday, February 8, 2013! Everything seems bigger when you're a kid, and I remember my first coaster appearing much larger when I was a small child. Continue to share what you remember about your first coaster ride. Although it's less than 8 minutes in length, I recorded all of the footage with the in-game recorder, so the production time has been much longer than my other machinimas. "My First Coaster" spans just over two decades and revolves around a father and son's visits to ride a local amusement park's classic wooden coaster. The film is inspired by a true story. The coaster is based off of an existing coaster, but its identity won't be revealed until the film is released. I'm looking forward to sharing it with you guys. CD5 Update Hi guys, I wanted to return to this thread to give you all an update on what I've been doing the past few months, as well as offer some closure for this project. I have decided to not continue EarthQuest Adventures. The format of the park (told from the park designer's POV) was difficult for me to attach emotionally. I feel like the format hindered the development of a heartfelt story. And if you know my work, you know I thrive on the story aspect of the park. If anyone is interested in tackling another take on the EarthQuest Adventures project, by all means go for it. Unfortunately my version ends here. I thank everyone for the support of the project. Since Then Now, what have I been up to since EarthQuest Adventures updates ended? In late November, I released Greenhouse: Relinquish, the final installment in the Greenhouse trilogy. It was one of my longest RCT3 films, and it occupied just about all of my "RCT3 time." You can watch the film below: What's next? I'm planning three projects for this year. I am currently working on a short film entitled "My First Coaster." It is inspired by my childhood experience with a historic wooden roller coaster. I plan on releasing it sometime in February of this year. I am also working on a storyline park project which I hope to begin soon, and a longer machinima film which I plan to release in the fall. At nearly 40 minutes in length, it is one of my longest machinimas, but there is a lot of "finishing up" to do as this is the last film in the trilogy. The Greenhouse series tells the story of Operation: Greenhouse, a Nazi-like organization that seeks to end poverty in the United States. It also follows those who are fighting to bring it to an end.
