  1. ^ Thank you for your patience! THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 I apologize for the lack of updates recently. I have been travelling with limited RCT3 time. However, I have a few updates to hold you over until significant work picks back up. The entrance to THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER is beginning to take shape. Guests will enter an obliterated Gotham building as they await "judgment." The queue will weave throughout the city as they await their fate: death or exile. Will The Dark Knight rescue them before it's too late? The entrance plaza is also taking shape. There is still much work left to do, though. Until next time, Follow me on Facebook and Twitter for more behind-the-scenes updates: Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/cd5productions Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/cd5productions
  2. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 Work continues on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. I'm working in several different areas of the coasters instead of focusing on one spot. There's no method to my madness. We'll see how it plays out in the long run. Here's another view of the interior of the show building where riders will face Bane. Notice the faux track that will lead riders to believe that they are heading right towards the villain. I've fenced in the majority of the coaster, especially the first half. Landscaping work continues. One of the first fly-through sets has been constructed. Riders will fly through Gotham City's buildings during their ride on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. The walls for the queue building are up. Guests will cross a bridge onto one of Gotham City's islands before crossing back over towards the station. Pictured above is the elongated batwing inversion. Stay tuned for more updates! 3. To celebrate "My First Coaster" receiving 10,000 YouTube views (thanks in part to you!), I am sharing some previously unreleased promo stills of the "Pippin" coaster featured in the film. You can also watch the film by clicking the links below: YouTube: Vimeo: Take a spin on the new Zippin Pippin below: Thank you again for your support of this film!
  4. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 Work continues on this summer's THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. Support work is 95% complete, with only minor pieces yet to be added. I'm now working on several of the buildings and infrastructure that will make up "Gotham City." Two of the first buildings I completed are more for functional purposes: the two sheds that will hold the trains when they are not in use. At least one train will be on the main track at all times. During the off season, it will be kept in the main station. As mentioned in the previous update, the buildings are located at the coaster's midpoint rather than near the station. Pictured above is the most important building: the show building. Here is where riders will come face-to-face with Bane and his mercenaries. Riders will also reenter this building (rather quickly) during the second half of the ride. Water effects will be plentiful in this building. There is still much work left to do, however. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER: a panoramic photograph. Here's one last shot. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but the coaster is beginning to take shape. Until next time!
  5. Thanks! THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 Today I began working on the foundation for the coaster's indoor sequence where riders will come face-to-face with Bane in the underground sewers of Gotham. The coaster room will incorporate thematic scenery pieces with video technology to bring the infamous villain to life. Also visible in the above shot are the sections of track where trains will receive maintenance. This coaster is unique in that the transfer track is actually in the middle of the coaster rather than the end. Above is another angle of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. Follow me on Facebook and Twitter for more behind-the-scenes previews of this wing coaster. Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/cd5productions Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/cd5productions
  6. ^ Thanks, Ben! I am really looking forward to this project. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 As was fairly evident in yesterday's screenshots, I still have a lot of work left to do until THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER departs with riders. In the coming weeks, I'll bring you frequent updates leading up to the coaster's completion. I've been working on the coaster for nearly a month, and I'm happy to report that the support work is nearly complete. After the trackwork is finished, I will start on the thematic elements. For a Six Flags coaster, the coaster will be heavily themed. Finally, here is another overview of the coaster. This shot will look drastically different once the coaster is complete with the indoor sections and "keyhole" elements. Stay tuned. More updates are coming soon.
  7. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER Ride B&M's newest wing coaster! Take flight today on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER, which takes riders on a flight through Gotham City on Batman's "Bat" plane and brings them face-to-face with Bane. This thrilling coaster inverts riders upside down eight times as they traverse over 4,400 feet of track, all with nothing above or below them. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER STATS HEIGHT: 117 feet SPEED: 58 mph LENGTH: 4,466 feet INVERSIONS: 8, including world's first "elongated batwing" double inversion DURATION: 2 minutes TRAINS: 3, 32-seat wing coaster trains MANUFACTURER: Bolliger & Mabillard THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER is now open! You asked for it! Below you'll find an entire POV (nighttime, left-side) of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. Thank you for your support of this project and the feedback you've given me. It is greatly appreciated! - - - - - - - I am happy to present my next project, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER: SIX FLAGS — Join forces with the Dark Knight this summer as he flies above and below the city of Gotham in an attempt to foil Bane's plot to destroy the city. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER, a thrilling wing coaster, is coming to a Six Flags theme park near you. Guests will traverse through Gotham, across bridges, and into the city's sewers as they approach THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER loading dock. They will then board "The Bat" which seats 28 riders, with no track above or below them. The "Bat" train will depart the station before climbing nearly 100 feet into the air. After passing through Wayne Enterprises Headquarters, guests will plunge over 90 feet, spiraling into the coaster's first zero-g inversion. The above rendering simulates riders riding on the wings of the "Bat." Riders will then maneuver a second inversion, a giant flat spin, before immediately entering a dive element. An overbanked turn directly leads into a world's first element for a wing coaster: the elongated batwing inversion, which inverts riders twice. A tilted helix leads riders into an indoor sequence where they come face-to-face with Bane and his mercenaries in the sewers of Gotham. Light and water effects heighten the cinematic experience as Batman decides to take on his archenemy. The train emerges from the sewer as riders climb to a max height of 117 feet. Guests encounter a stunning view of the surrounding scenery, but the tranquility is brief, as the train inverts into a dive drop element, plunging riders 11 stories into another giant flat spin. Riders speed through another zero-g roll before completing two overbanked turns, the last of which leads back into the loading station. At 4,466 feet, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER will be the longest wing coaster in the world. With eight inversions, it will turn riders upside down more times than any other wing coaster. The coaster is a product of the acclaimed Bolliger & Mabillard, responsible for thrilling coaster at many Six Flags properties. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER will open in summer of 2013. STATS Height: 117 feet Speed: 58 mph Length: 4,466 feet Inversions: 8 Duration: 2 minutes Trains: 3, 28-seat wingriders Manufacturer: Bolliger & Mabillard LAYOUT At 4,466 feet, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER will be the longest wing coaster in the world. More updates coming soon!
  8. Hey guys, I wanted to share with you a few leftover stills that I took when I was making "My First Coaster." Please continue to share the film with others. It has already received over 4,000 views on YouTube! I still can't believe the exposure and response it has received. Watch "My First Coaster" below: The above screen shows the entire "My First Coaster" set. I originally wanted to have a nighttime sequence in the film, but it didn't make the final cut. Working on this slice of a park brought me back to my Charleston Gardens days. Thank you again for your support of the film. Please continue to share your thoughts. What's next for me? A few of you have asked what I have planned. I am in the beginning stages of building my next park. My final semester of college is proving to be busier than I originally anticipated. Therefore, I do not expect to begin posting regular updates of my next park until sometime in the spring. It's an exciting concept, and I can't wait to share it with you all. I am also developing a story for a film for the Halloween season that I'm very excited about. It will be based off of a popular franchise. And that's all I will say for the time being.
  9. Download the "My First Coaster" Set + Track "My First Coaster" has been watched nearly 3,000 times since its release on Friday. The response to the film has been overwhelming, and I want to show a token of my appreciation for the support and feedback. If you haven't seen it yet, watch "My First Coaster" below: Watch on Vimeo: I want to offer you the opportunity to download the "My First Coaster" track and set. Keep in mind, this file was built as a "movie set," so it is by no means a complete park. Download: http://www.fileswap.com/dl/3SKeL8PaRl/ Below are the sets I believe are needed to open the file. This list may not be complete. If you are able to open the file and notice a set that I have left off, please let me know. 10. I was honored to see that the film was shared on Screamscape! I'm glad you enjoyed the film. I didn't mean to make people cry, but I'm glad that viewers can identify with the story. Thanks, XYZ! The Coaster That Inspired "My First Coaster" "My First Coaster" has been watched nearly 2,000 times since its release on Friday. I have been shocked by the response the film has received. I had no idea how many people would identify with the story. If you haven't done so already, watch "My First Coaster" below: "My First Coaster" is also available on Vimeo: Zippin Pippin, the coaster that inspired "My First Coaster," has a somewhat muddled history. Some reports claim that the wooden coaster originally opened in 1912 at East End Park in Memphis, Tennessee. Other dates of the Zippin Pippin's opening include 1915, 1917, and 1923. The coaster was a product of John A. Miller and included a 70-foot lift hill, a top speed of 40 mph and a total length of 2,865 feet. The Pippin, as it was originally named, was incorporated into the Libertyland amusement park when it opened in 1976. The coaster then became known as the "Zippin Pippin." It gained notoriety for being Elvis Presley's favorite roller coaster. The Zippin Pippin operated until 2005 when Libertyland closed. It stood dormant for nearly five years before being purchased by Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Unfortunately, due to the poor condition of the structure, no of the original materials were reused when the coaster was rebuilt in 2011. However, the coaster was replicated entirely by The Gravity Group thanks in part to the original plans for the coaster that were sold to Bay Beach Amusement Park. The coaster opened at Bay Beach Amusement Park in May of 2011 and has been a huge success for the small amusement park. Although nothing remains of the original Zippin Pippin, one of the original cars is on display at Bay Beach Amusement Park, along with other artifacts. Luckily, however, the namesake of the coaster and its legacy will likely live on for many more years thanks to Bay Beach and Green Bay. The "My First Coaster" version of the Zippin Pippin is somewhat modified due to the limitations of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, however, it's overall layout is very similar. Thank you again for all of the responses. I have greatly enjoyed reading them.
  11. The reviews are in! I think you should watch "My First Coaster," but I'll let those who have already seen the film do the talking: I have been humbled by the response to say the least. I am glad that so many others have been able to identify with my first coaster experience. I hope that by watching "My First Coaster" you are able to relive your first ride on a roller coaster. Thank you for the support and continue to share your thoughts about the film. I would appreciate some criticism! Remember, "My First Coaster" is also available on Vimeo:
  12. Watch "My First Coaster" Today The wait is over! Watch the "My First Coaster" short film below: "My First Coaster" was filmed entirely with the RCT3 in-game video recorder, so the video is clearer and of higher quality. The video is also available on Vimeo: Please share your thoughts of the film after watching! I can only improve if I hear your feedback. Thanks for watching!
  13. My First Coaster Premieres Friday! The wait is almost over. "My First Coaster" will debut on Friday, February 8, 2013! Everything seems bigger when you're a kid, and I remember my first coaster appearing much larger when I was a small child. Continue to share what you remember about your first coaster ride. I'm enjoying reading the responses.
  14. They're the in-game supports but they've been re-textured. I can't think of the name of the download. Perhaps! My First Coaster - Update "My First Coaster" will be released THIS FRIDAY, February 8, 2013! My First Coaster is a classic out-and-back layout. Seen above is the entire layout for the coaster featured in "My First Coaster." It's a smaller coaster, but timid coaster enthusiasts must start somewhere! Discussion: What was your first coaster? How well do you remember the ride?
  15. My First Coaster Watch "My First Coaster" Today! The wait is over! I have been working on this projects for about two months now. Although it's less than 8 minutes in length, I recorded all of the footage with the in-game recorder, so the production time has been much longer than my other machinimas. "My First Coaster" spans just over two decades and revolves around a father and son's visits to ride a local amusement park's classic wooden coaster. The film is inspired by a true story. The coaster is based off of an existing coaster, but its identity won't be revealed until the film is released. I'm looking forward to sharing it with you guys. Stay tuned for more previews leading up to the release.
  16. CD5 Update Hi guys, I wanted to return to this thread to give you all an update on what I've been doing the past few months, as well as offer some closure for this project. I have decided to not continue EarthQuest Adventures. The format of the park (told from the park designer's POV) was difficult for me to attach emotionally. I feel like the format hindered the development of a heartfelt story. And if you know my work, you know I thrive on the story aspect of the park. If anyone is interested in tackling another take on the EarthQuest Adventures project, by all means go for it. Unfortunately my version ends here. I thank everyone for the support of the project. Since Then Now, what have I been up to since EarthQuest Adventures updates ended? In late November, I released Greenhouse: Relinquish, the final installment in the Greenhouse trilogy. It was one of my longest RCT3 films, and it occupied just about all of my "RCT3 time." You can watch the film below: What's next? I'm planning three projects for this year. I am currently working on a short film entitled "My First Coaster." It is inspired by my childhood experience with a historic wooden roller coaster. I plan on releasing it sometime in February of this year. I am also working on a storyline park project which I hope to begin soon, and a longer machinima film which I plan to release in the fall. Happy New Year! I look forward to what's to come in 2013. -CD5
  17. Has anyone here watched the film? What were your thoughts? I normally get great feedback from you guys... Watch Greenhouse: Relinquish today! The reviews are in! Greenhouse: Relinquish is a great ending to the Greenhouse trilogy. Watch it today! Vimeo: Behind the Scenes Here's a look at the massive interior headquarters set that was used in the film. Please share your reviews! Good or bad! I strongly value your feedback.
  18. The wait is over. Greenhouse: Relinquish is here. After months of hard work, I have finished the final installment in the Greenhouse trilogy. At nearly 40 minutes in length, it is one of my longest machinimas, but there is a lot of "finishing up" to do as this is the last film in the trilogy. The Greenhouse series tells the story of Operation: Greenhouse, a Nazi-like organization that seeks to end poverty in the United States. It also follows those who are fighting to bring it to an end. Greenhouse: Relinquish answers the question: "Who will relinquish?" Greenhouse or America? IMPORTANT! Before watching Greenhouse: Relinquish, you need to have seen the previous two Greenhouse films. Otherwise, YOU WILL LIKELY BE CONFUSED. Below are the links to the previous two Greenhouse films. Greenhouse: Greenhouse: Retaliate: Watch Greenhouse: Relinquish below: Watch on Vimeo: All I ask is that if you take the time to watch the film, please share with me your thoughts. Good or bad, long or short, I greatly appreciate your feedback. I will soon begin work on two other films, and I need to know where I can improve. So in short... Share your thoughts!
  19. ^ Thank you, Kinderly! I cannot wait for you to see Greenhouse: Relinquish! In less than 24 hours, Greenhouse: Relinquish will be released. In less than 24 hours, discover who will relinquish. Find out how the Greenhouse story ends. Greenhouse: Relinquish picks up seconds after Greenhouse: Retaliate's ending. We find Deana and other members of Operation: Retaliate held hostage by Greenhouse officers and Greenhouse General "Jonathan." Meanwhile, a man leaves his wife and young child to join the ongoing "Retaliate" war that is brewing around Operation: Greenhouse's only remaining headquarters. What will happen to Deana? Will she ever be freed from Operation: Greenhouse? Will a man who leaves his family to fight the war against Greenhouse ever return? Who is the man behind Greenhouse and why did he decide to kill millions of innocent people? Again, I highly recommend that you watch the previous two Greenhouse films prior to viewing Greenhouse: Relinquish. Otherwise, you may be very confused. Remember, this is a SEQUEL. You'll find links to the previous two films below: Greenhouse: Greenhouse: Retaliate: I have worked on this film for nearly over six months. I look forward to sharing it with you.
  20. FLASHBACK FRIDAY - GREENHOUSE: RETALIATE Greenhouse: Retaliate (2011) was the long-awaited followup to Greenhouse (2009). WATCH ON VIMEO: Greenhouse: Retaliate picks up over a year after the events of Greenhouse. Connor, a Greenhouse refugee, witnesses his parents and other refugees executed after being discovered by Greenhouse officers on an island off the Eastern Seaboard. Weeks later, Deana, an orphan from Atlanta, reaches the island in hopes of finding refugees to join the underground Retaliate movement seeking to end Operation: Greenhouse. Reluctantly, Connor agrees to join her. They make their way through a ravaged city and across the countryside to reach the Retaliate headquarters. There, Connor sacrifices his life to destroy the East Coast Greenhouse Headquarters. Meanwhile, Deana meets and makes a deal with the general of the West Coast Greenhouse Headquarters. And that's where Greenhouse: Relinquish picks up. Greenhouse: Relinquish will premiere Thursday, November 29, 2012.
  21. Greenhouse: Relinquish premieres in one week. Prepare to discover who will relinquish...America or Greenhouse. "Go out the back door and hide in the bushes...The green monsters will take me." Greenhouse: Relinquish begins Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 12:00am CST.
  22. Mark your calendars! Greenhouse: Relinquish begins November 29! Learn how the Greenhouse story ends. Discover who will relinquish... will it be the American people or Greenhouse? Explosions are not in limited supply in Greenhouse: Retaliate. Action fanatics will not leave their computer chair disappointed. Character Bio Name: Deana First Appearance: Greenhouse: Retaliate Status: Alive Biography: Deana is the older sister of Savannah, who first appeared at the end of the first Greenhouse film. Both were orphaned children, which led to their poor economic standing. Savannah was taken from the orphanage while Deana was out for a walk. Deana is convinced that Savannah is still alive and is dedicating her life to finding her and putting an end to Operation: Greenhouse, no matter the cost (as evidenced by the end of Greenhouse: Retaliate). Greenhouse: Relinquish will premiere Thursday, November 29, 2012. Send me a private message if you are interested in seeing the film early. There are still a couple of spots open. Follow me on Twitter and Facebook for more special previews.
  23. FLASHBACK FRIDAY - GREENHOUSE (2009) Greenhouse was the film that started it all. Fun fact: Greenhouse actually began as a modern retelling of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. Watch the film below and see if you can pick up on any of the Rear Window influences. Plot: America is taken over by "Greenhouse Industries," a radical group that aims to eliminate the negative factors that are causing the economic recession. A paranoid schizophrenic, Ben, grows suspicious of Greenhouse Officers' activity in an apartment complex near his institution. He partners with his childhood friend, Amber, in attempt to uncover the organization's plot before it's too late. Part 1/2: Part 2/2: Greenhouse: Relinquish premieres November 29!
  24. That's a wrap! Greenhouse: Relinquish is complete. At just under 40 minutes, it will be one of my longest machinima films to date. Since it's the final chapter in the Greenhouse trilogy, there is a lot of wrapping-up to do. 10 people get to see the film early. Please send me a private message for more details. Who will relinquish? Find out November 29.
  25. Greenhouse: Relinquish to be released Thursday, November 29, 2012. I have decided to push back the release date for Greenhouse: Relinquish two weeks so that preview screeners have enough time to watch the film and share their thoughts, and I need a little more time to finish up the last few scenes of the movie. I apologize for this delay as I don't like changing release dates, but I wanted to make sure that the film is to my liking before I release it into the wild. Please forgive me! Teaser #2 Who is this child? Follow me on Twitter and Facebook for more previews. Greenhouse: Relinquish will be released on Thursday, November 29, 2012.
