So some inbred smashed a friend of mine over the head with a bottle at last night's Mastodon show at the Palladium in Worcester and split her head open. She has no clue who did it; if anyone who was at that show has any idea who it was, they should probably let me know.

CT and MA aren't all rich. For CT, it gets ludicrously wealthy once you get near Stamford and NYC, but the eastern and northern parts of the state are generally middle-income and occasionally quite poor, while most of the cities are predominately poor and very rough. As for MA, most of the wealth is clustered near Boston, Worcester, and Cape Cod. The western portion of the state is fairly poor, the Athol/Fitchburg area is very poor, and the North Shore is going downhill FAST.

Weekdays in general are good. If it's hot as balls out, don't plan on getting everything done in one day if you're going to the water park, as it's gonna be mobbed. On the flipside, if you have no intention of hitting the water park, go right ahead and visit on a wicked hot day. If you can deal with the heat, the lines will generally be far shorter due to the water park's allure.

Inter Arma/Ulcerate. Oh man. What an experience. Inter Arma simply blew me away; I was expecting them to be good, but not THAT good. Ulcerate was similarly mindblowing.

What Was the Last Beer You Drank?

Yuengling Lager. I'm probably going to be treated as a blasphemer for this, but this **** is honestly quite overrated. Everyone was making a huge deal out of it finally coming to New England, but as it stands now, it's at least $1.50-$2 more expensive than Narragansett in my region while not being that much better. Unless the price drops, 'Gansett will still be my go-to for cheap but not awful beer. -

I can't stand anything past Awake, and even that album has the beginnings of a lot of stuff that I hate about modern Dream Theater, particularly the asinine bro chugs and gratuitous oversinging. I love Images and Words, but Kevin Moore was definitely the force keeping Petrucci and Portnoy in check; once he left, their quality took a major nosedive that was accelerated when Rudess joined. Fates Warning and Symphony X are way more my style as far as progressive metal goes, and even then, the latter has a worrying about of nowadays DT traits.

I usually suggest that people use Violator or Music for the Masses as their launchpad, but that works just as well.
