  1. Go orca. Sea World can eat me. Leave the damn things in the ocean where they were meant to be.
  2. Hasn't Canobie Lake been in talks with both GCI and TGG about a new woodie?
  3. SFNE Cyclone in the back after a rain shower. That is some fierce ejector fo sho. Remix IIs are also quite something, since they're basically floorless Orbiters. At high speeds, they'll make you feel like your legs are going to be torn off.
  4. This is wishful thinking, but now that FMP is absolutely, positively dead, don't you think that Time Machine could commandeer the large cleared area?
  5. Orcas are highly intelligent animals that are not going to take this crap sitting forever. They may look complacent now, but they're all ticking time bombs. I can say that I'm never surprised when I read a story about an orca deciding to snap. You can't piss something like that off forever and not expect it to finally say "enough".
  6. Massachusetts is the same way. Both states have the same exact stretches of road that are perpetually under construction, and the reason is largely due to corruption, usually through a combination of pork and good old-fashioned shady backroom deals.
  7. Went today in spite of the rain mostly because of the crowds or lack thereof, but also because, well, coasters with rain-slick tracks are better. Here's how it breaks down (not in chronological order, my memory sucks): Bizarro: Rode it in the back, received less air than I thought I would, but given that it's friggin' Bizarro, it still gave air in spades. Positives were also quite impressive. Batman: Second-to-last row in a pretty strong downpour, but damn if this sonofabitch didn't fly. There weren't many people in the train, either, so I don't think that the trim kicked in. Was actually quite forceful. Thunderbolt: Middle of front car. Was quite fast this time around, though still relatively airless. Cyclone: Back. Holy CRAP was this good. Violent and shaky? Yes. But DAT EJECTOR, that sweet ejector. Totally worth the shakiness. Pandemonium: Car was slightly unbalanced for some good spins, but not as many as I had hoped. Still good fun. I avoided the kiddie coasters and the Vekoma torture devices, and for flats I did Joker's Wildcard and the Tomahawk. I was tempted to get my balls flattened on the Twister, but I wisely passed. The program isn't good enough to justify the pain.
  8. The height is inconsequential when you consider that the park has the topography required for a good terrain coaster. I doubt it'll be a dive machine, as the GP would blow it off in the face of Fahrenheit.
  9. In all honesty, though, who the hell wants an old Arrow loopscrew?
  10. Do you have any idea just how many people put their mouths on them or spit in them?
  11. I feel sorry for the coaster trains that have to cart those beached whales - I mean ACE members. Also, when I saw A$$ Blaster, I instantly thought of this:
  12. The back row of the SFNE Cyclone used to be an instrument of torture until they retracked the damn thing. Now it just separates the men from the boys, which is to say that it's intense as hell yet a lot of fun. Wish I could say the same about the Thunderbolt, but it's cursed with the fate of a). having little air, and b). hunting like you would not believe. Little guy needs some urgent TLC.
  13. Even on Saturdays, Batman never has much of a wait. Still, the only water ride that won't have a ridiculous line is the Blizzard River. Shipwreck Falls and Splash Water Falls both tend to have excruciatingly long and sluggish lines. Also, I'm going to warn you that on a Saturday, the line-cutting for Bizarro and Scream can get pretty bad. Call them out only if you think they won't come back to get you, because when a park is sandwiched between Holyoke and Springfield, there's bound to be at least a few people who will get their homies to thump you later on when you least expect it if you get them in trouble.
  14. They were around 10-15 the last time I went; didn't even exit the queue house. Then again, that was because my girlfriend and I hit it first thing in the morning and then around 3:50 in the afternoon, since I've learned through experience that those are always times when the crowds aren't as bad.
  15. SFNE will probably have steady crowds for most of the day. If a Gold Pass is out of your budget range and you're going to go for the lines, hit Thunderbolt and Bizarro first before they get ridiculous. Scream usually has massive lines all day and is thus generally not worth it, and both of the park's Vekoma torture devices generally have pretty hefty lines. Other than that, they'll be quite manageable. Batman is usually a walk-on or damn close, Cyclone generally has small lines all day, and Pandemonium tends to have steady lines that move very quickly if you've got a good crew (which you probably will). Finally, the flats are all fairly high-capacity and will never have lines beyond a minute, if even. Really, all you have to worry about is the fact that it'll probably be hotter than balls, though Blizzard River never has much of a line. The other two water rides, however, generally have slow crews and massive lines all day. As for Lake Compounce, I wouldn't know. Haven't had a chance to hit it up.
  16. It may not be a big deal to us, but given that this is America, someone with a pre-existing condition would have kicked the bucket on I305 sooner or later, with their family inevitably suing Cedar Fair. They're just trying to keep the lawyers off them.
