I love it when we have to get the shift started by ourselves because the senior manager who is filling in for our boss is ten minutes late, then saunters over to the trailer that I'm loading like nothing happened when he does get there. We could easily run that goddamn shift by ourselves if it wasn't for certain tasks that managers have to perform.

Yeah, this is a place where families with young children usually go. My buddy took his little sister there for her birthday and she's in elementary school, so that should give you an idea of the general age demographic.

And the inexorable spread of Dunks locations continues. Not surprised to see that they've set up shop in an amusement park, which is like the one setting here in New England that they haven't yet managed to put a billion outlets in.

Saw Alice in Chains at Foxwoods in CT last night. It was my first time seeing them, and all that I can say is damn. They had an interesting set opener with Junkhead (which is a deeper cut that I wasn't expecting to hear period, let alone as an opener) and quickly got down to business with Check My Brain, Again, and Man in the Box, and they had the place locked in the entire night. Hearing four thousand people (myself included) singing along to "Down in a Hole" was certainly one of the best ways to spend a birthday, and they closed with "No Excuses", "Would?", "We Die Young", "Them Bones", and "Dam That River" one after another. Seeing one of the greatest bands of all time do their thing was worth every penny.

I'm beginning to wonder if Flashback hasn't been removed largely because it was intended to be a contingency plan if Goliath ever started having serious problems. In light of the indefinite downtime, this doesn't seem totally far-fetched. It WAS a good ride with the old trains and isn't awful now if you're tall; if you're short, however, prepare for pain. Lots and lots of pain.

For anyone who was at SFNE today, I was the tall-ish dude in the glasses and the Arkaik shirt. Pretty typical Sunday, maybe a little lighter than usual; it actually looked like it was going to rain at various points, but the sun crept back out after a bit. Goliath's still down and will probably continue to be down for the rest of the season; here's hoping that they're working on finally making those wack trains good.

If I recall correctly, Time Warp occupied the space currently held by Pandemonium's current queue, which originally wrapped around the back of Pandemonium.
