What live concert do you look forward to this year?
Blind Idiot God replied to Snowboard246's topic in Random, Random, Random
Remaining stuff for this year (credit card's gonna hate me but w/e): Fates Warning (10/10, kinda on the fence about it right now) Hate Eternal/Misery Index/Beyond Creation/Rivers of Nihil (10/27) Blind Guardian/Grave Digger (10/31) Exodus (11/22) Edit: Had King Diamond and The Black Dahlia Murder lined up, but pigs will fly before I get the time off from work that far into peak season (I work at a shipping terminal). -

Symphony X and Overkill in Worcester, AKA the true Jersey boys. Symphony X was fantastic and Michael Romeo is absolutely unreal live; his playing HAS to be seen to be believed. Probably the most impressive live guitarist I've ever seen. The rest of the band was similarly on-point; my only complaint was that they devoted a little too much of the setlist to Underworld and Paradise Lost and not enough to their other albums. "Iconoclast" was a great choice for an encore, however. As for Overkill, they blew the roof off of the place like they're famous for, and Bobby Blitz's choice to insult the Red Sox before proclaiming that he had no love for the Yankees either elicited more than a few laughs. They had a much more balanced setlist, with all of the hits, a good balance of new and old, and even a couple deeper cuts. $27.50 well spent.

The Boston date, yes. I wonder if Jake Dieffenbach will get completely demolished and throw up all over the Rivers van again like he apparently did on that tour with Whitechapel.

One of my friends came up with the title "Worldstar: The Ride" because riding it if you're not tall is basically like being on the wrong end of a beating. I can do SLCs without any real pain, but anyone below 5'8" is in for a very unpleasant time. I don't think it's a height problem as much as it is a SLCs suck in general problem. Well, that too, but I'm somewhere between 6'0" and 6'2" (officially the former but I was taller than a former coworker who was charted at the latter, so who knows) and can ride it without an absurd amount of discomfort. I still generally don't feel great after getting off of it, however.
