  1. Many years ago there was a major incident on moreys boomerang. I used to have the report from the state bookmarked but couldn't find it, but if i recall part of the train de-coupled after some fatigued bolts on the chassis failed, and part of the train came to a valley in the same spot. If the catch car connects to the back car, is the weight of the entire train on the last cars connection each time its pulled up the first hill?
  2. It will fail. I worked in AC for 4 years until recently, and that area of the city is not going to bring anyone in. Revel is too far north on the island, away from anything, in the center of one of the rougher neighborhoods which looks like camden with a beach. Even on holidays, that end of the boardwalk is EMPTY. Revel needed to be built closer to midtown.
  3. Everyone is talking about a new headlining coaster, and I would just like movie town to come back.
  4. Check out the bottom of this first drop. Watch the riders heads closely. Unbelievable that this is allowed to operate. And this one
  5. Since someone mentioned the ending of T2 being different on a previous page, I watched a pov to compare it to other SLC's I've been on. Honestly, I don't know if its the setting or something, but the whole ride looks different. The drop seems really mellow compared to other SLC's, and the banking after the sidewinder also looks totally different. The rolls also seem to be a bit more mellow with an easier entrance, as well as the turn exiting the rolls which appears almost 90 degrees on T2.
  6. Puritas springs cyclone was it. Thanks!
  7. I remember reading on another site or here about an old coaster that had drops into a ravine. From my memory it was an out and back, and the first drop may not have been the largest. If I I remember correctly it was in the mid west. I made a recreation in no limits but lost it, as well as the old photos and info. It wasn't at kennywood. Any help would be appreciated, I feel as though I tore the Internet apart looking but cannot find anything.
  8. Great Bear is definitely a must ride. Right now I think it is my number 3 invert behind alpenghiest and montu. SDL is unique and fun. Nothing amazing, just fun. Wildcat can definitely be skipped, and IMO if you have been on a mouse before you have been on all of them.
  9. Your thoughts on the park pretty much parallel mine. I love the place. Im not even a water park guy but enjoy theirs. I think the park is an incredible value and can spend an entire day between the water park and dry side. My opinion on the coasters is totally opposite though. I haven't been in two years so things might have changed on them. I hated SROS and love batwing. I fell Batwing gives me more of a flying sensation than superman's "prepare for insertion" position of riding. ROS on the other hand I find very uncomfortable with strange vibrations, weird track transitions that cause strange shuffling, and little to no air. The first drop and turn though are fantastic. Jokers jinx rules. Wild one is one of my favorite woodies. Ive never ridden mind eraser and never will, as moreys, even with the new trains, is terrible.
  10. I was at hershey yesterday. Wow, the difference in maintenance is crazy! The ride chassis had zero rust an everything looked well cared for. On topic: I'll take a clone of sfdk's superman in chillers spot please. A premier for a premier.
  11. Just to clarify my previous post since there seems to be a lack of reading comprehension here. The layout is brilliant. The forces are awesome. If the lapbar actually fit like a lapbar, like every other intamin ride out there, I'm pretty sure it would be a top 5 for me. If I see that new restrains are ever put on I will be first in line to ride again. Hershey is siting on such an amazing ride that needs a minor tweak to make it incredible.
  12. Went today. First time back since 2007. Loved it, and loved getting the new and missed credits. Here are some thoughts. Operations were awesome. Lines moved quickly. Great bear was new to me. Definitely underrated, I loved it. Superdooperlooper was fun but nothing special. Fahrenheit and storm runner are both fantastic. The last airtime hill on Fahrenheit was perfect. Now onto skyrush. UGH. This was the worst experience I have ever had on a roller coaster, and my friends agreed. The lapbar is awful and doesn't come close to your torso, so the airtime has basically your entire body ejected forward and bent over the lap bar. It progressively got tighter to the point of leaving marks in my legs. The laterals were terrible as well. There were parts of the ride where I was basically hanging over sideways out of the car while being ejected forwards. It was almost as if the ride was trying its best to get rid of me. If the lapbars were normal in any sense of the word it would be a great ride. I will never ride it again until something changes. However I will say the visuals of the end seat were pretty cool. My apologies for formatting, posted from a rest stop on my phone
  13. The area near NYC and Camden are gross. Where i live its pretty. Forests, wildlife, hiking, kayaking. South>North.
  14. I know right... I completely agree with you. There's basically nothing to do at Great Adventure. All they have is the tallest coaster in the world, the #1 rated wood coaster in the world, a B&M hypercoaster that goes 80 MPH, an old school super-intense B&M invert, a 7 looping floorless coaster, a huge stand-up coaster, a B&M flying coaster, 2 indoor coasters, the tallest drop tower in the world, an arrow mine train, a 200+ foot sky screamer, a Vekoma mad house, a 90 minute long Safari ride with a zipline in the middle of it, a very good log flume, a 200+ foot parachute tower, a ton of other rides I didn't even mention and now a new looping flat ride. I agree... there's nothing to do in this park. Like i said, a few rides worth riding. My opinion. Tallest and fastest doesn't equal good. Toro, Batman, Bizarro, and the mad house are good. Safari doesn't interest me as I don't believe in keeping wild animals. The park is not very well rounded. They keep removing rides and seem like there isn't any direction or end goal for what they are doing. I mean, ONE water ride in a flagship park? that is absurd. SFA has THREE, and had FOUR. Great adventure relies on a couple blockbuster rides to draw in crowds, not so much as a place to spend an entire day. I really though the park was going in the right direction with KA and the golden kingdom, then Toro and PDC. Those areas were gorgeous. I had hope there was going to be theming and an actual vision behind themed areas. Now that I think about it, Im not even mad about the loop thingy, its another ride and thats good. Im disappointed that movie town will rot some more as will other areas of the park. Gadv seems content with having two really well themed areas and just random nonsense elsewhere.
  15. Looks like another season I won't be visiting GADV. There is really only a few rides I feel are worth riding. Removed Scream machine which only banged your shoulders up a bit for a ride that must be a government conspiracy for population control since it blatantly tries to render me impotent. Arguably one of the most intense coasters around for a mouse in a box. Rolling thunder for hopefully something good, but probably nothing. We have the gotham area basically vacant and a closed old country. A giant purple monstrosity in the western section of the park. Seeing what SFMM is doing with colossus, Rolling thunder could have been a ground hugging version of that. Looks like next season I will be driving right past GADV on my way to SFNE.
  16. Six flags needs to pick their battles. Crowds of kids screaming F this, F that, running all over my lawn. Get off my lawn with your tweeters and instant grahams, this place isn't a family park. The amount of male phallaces drawn on walls and railing in line for the rides is worse than that shirt. "Mommy what does that guys shirt mean?" "Son, it means he fought for this country so we can enjoy ourselves at this lovely park today." "Oh cool mommy, Whats that picture of a hot dog on wheels mean?"
  17. With the lack of lines this park usually has, a large coaster isn't necessary. Eurofighter would be awesome. I loved DDD at SFOG. Its amazing how well Wild One is taken care of but Roar is in terrible shape. Wild one is one of my favorite coasters ever.
  18. Awesome. Roar and mind eraser were the only rides I would skip at the park, and I don't mind rough rides (I loved Hercules). But SFA will most likely leave the lot empty.
  19. Agreed! It's my home park, and I haven't been in almost three years. Great Adventure has "themed" areas and could have easily stuck to them, creating at least some sort of cohesion. I don't think I will be back until chiller finally gets its replacement and the park does some major renovating.
  20. With the constant delays of the new coaster, I wonder if the park is looking to other manufacturers; cough RMC cough. The bridge between two piers screams for a zero g stall like on Goliath. Being totally inverted over people walking to the beach would be amazing. Also, theoretically, it would require less money to maintain. The salt air is not kind to rides and for Morey's an RMC over a GCI would be a better bet. It would also set the ride apart from the great white.
  21. Great looking park! To be fair, I've seen plenty of ops push stuck boats/wild mouse cars/smaller ride vehicles that are stuck.
  22. Per another website's latest update: Rumor is a Rocky Mountain coaster towards the lake.
  23. Thinks Goliath is meh and GASM is horrible, yet says DDD, Cyclone, and Ninja are awesome. Get out. You must've ridden GASM in the wrong seat, it is amazing in a non-wheel seat, and even in a wheel seat, it's better than Cyclone. I don't even get why Goliath is meh compared to DDD, did you get them mixed up or something? Ninja is sorta understandable considering you were in the magic seat. In other news, the new wave pool has just wet itself. B&M hypers don't do anything for me at all. I was not in a wheel seat on GASM.
  24. I went for to this park for the first time ever in april. I did not take any photos so I will just post my thoughts here. Employees were fantastic. There was an elderly gentleman that worked on one of the trams. He was fantastic and was super proud of his job. The park was clean and well laid out. I did not expect the elevation changes whatsoever. Great selection of rides too. I have only been to three six flags parks, and my overall experience here trumps SFA and SFGADV. Scorcher: Super fun. My favorite standup to date. Goliath: Meh. DDD: First Eurofighter. Hopefully more of these get build as it was AWESOME. Batman: Skipped due to time. Ninja: I have wanted to ride this thing forever. I grew up staring at it from the beach in wildwood. I rode in the 7th car back seat, and it was awesome! No head banging and the butterfly element was very interesting. Scream machine: The worst wooden coaster I have ever been on. Riders were coming back in tears. It hurt worse than anything I have ever been on. Mindbender: Perfect. Cyclone: Wow the first drop and turns were amazingly smooth! The rest needs to get re-tracked ASAP. Fun ride though! Mine train: Funky arrow transitions in the dark. Surprisingly fun!
