  1. They're installing the final track piece on the first drop. You can even see the track piece dangling from the crane above...
  2. I believe the capacity was marked at 1,000 which is fairly enormous for a water park.
  3. I think there are seat-belts. If not I'm trying to figure out what those black straps are. (particulary on the 3rd seat from the left) Those aren't seat belts, per say. They are straps that connect to the lap bar itself. Similar to over the shoulder lap bars. There doesn't appear to be an seat belt that would go over riders laps

  5. Spectacular! I understand that the angle is strange, but the inner seats are noticeably higher than the outer ones, no? I hope the padding on those lap bars was shipped separately, because as they are, OUCH. I don't understand your concern. There's already padding clearly there on the lap bars now. No metal section will be pressing against bodies on the entire ride.
  6. The SkyLoops and Abismo also come to mind. Plus, Hulk as mentioned above
  7. I despised the forced ending. Some of the greatest attractions don't have a clear cut story (see Haunted Mansion, Pirates, etc.). Absolutely love the fact that they are cutting out the cheese from this otherwise fantastic ride.
  8. Why not a mega lite? Would be better than a giga. I've never been on either, so correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the point of a Mega Lite, essentially a poor man's Giga Coaster? Mega Lites are great for mid-sized parks but it doesn't make any sense to buy one when you can afford a Giga coaster.
  9. Coastal Comission's height limit, which is much lower (especially in recent years). You can see Atlantis Silos from miles away as they really stand out in the completely flat area.
  10. Is grizzly still running the Morgan coffin car trains? Changing over to two bench PTC's would probably help smoothen the ride greatly, along with the retracking. Even if it was smooth the layout would still be miserably boring.
  11. I could see the Rattler getting Iron Horse track but also minimal layout changes. For the most part, Texas Giant's layout was dramatically changed. The Rattler already seems to have a fairly strong layout and I could see minimal adjustments to the actual layout, meaning a dramatic reduction in costs (and time).
  12. I'll add my 2 cents.... The train overview is consistant with the lap bar system shown in the artsy-fartsy concept art (minus the colors). The other rendering doesn't at all look professional (excuse me if it is), and seems like it may be a last minute change if it is true.
  13. Its the west coast syndrome. I've ridden a fair 150 coasters total, but only 8 wooden due to the lack of them on the West.
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong but it isn't possible to have air time on a loop. What you are describing is hang time, when you aren't lifted out of your seat but rather you fall out of your seat. Hangtime, is gravity forcing you out of your seat as the coaster continues in a direction opposing gravity. Airtime, is when the train goes down faster than the force gravity exerts on your body.
  15. I would think it would be fairly easy to keep people out of areas that they shouldn't be in. It just takes some rented temporary fence. If they could make a cool scare zone in there with one or two mazes it could really add a lot to Haunt and would be worth the expense. Imagine a walk through the lazy river with people jumping out a scaring you. They could make that a really cool experience and would already have the path for people to walk through. But you can't use the pools....
  16. Cause Park Maps have a reputation of being super accurate...
  17. I believe they're just using a crane to pull it over the raven curve and hoping it will make it up the final hill from there.
  18. Its not uncommon for B&M testing multiple wheel types before choosing the right one. We've already seen this at Dollywood. It seems reasonable that the first test run was done with the slower of the two wheel types and that B&M could make the decision to switch them out with others to allow the coaster to go faster.
  19. My guess would be that they will attach wires to that to help hold up the angled pieces they will soon install.
  20. Did I just read that correctly? Four?!?!!?! Increasing the number of hotels by 200%
  21. It seems reasonable to me that Disney could develop some sort of requirement that from X height to Y height children are required to sit with an adult.
  22. But nothing points to Gerstlauer other than that single, two sentence comment. That little remark also says there is a beyond vertical drop, which there obviously isn't. This is definitely not a euro-fighter.
  23. And your point is....? Ok, you can disagree, but you're wrong. Star Tours is old, and that's why it still doesn't see that huge of lines even after the new version. Your comparison is stupid. Please try harder before you post next time. I'm happy for you. Clap. Clap. Clap. Clap. --Robb "Universal fanboys are annoying." Alvey Wasn't expecting such an agressive response but since you requested, I'll "try harder" in this response: The Harry Potter 7-book, 8-movie franchise spans 2 mediums of media, and has a combined value of approximately $15 billion. By comparison, the 6-movie, Star Wars franchise is worth around $4.5 billion, and Marvel's thousands of comic book stories was bought just two years ago for $4.2 billion. Not only is the Potter franchise more recent then the others (immediately making their popularity greater), but the Potter franchise is worth triple both of those mega-franchises. With numbers like those, no you don't need "a ride system that impresses the f*ck otta people" because Universal is the ONLY company offering the millions of Harry Potter fans a three-dimensional theme park experience. Excuse my lack of effort from before but I do feel this will support my own opinion strongly (or is my opinion wrong here too?).
  24. You have to give some credit to Pooh's Hunny Hunt and Toy Story Mania. And let's be honest here, Universal *needs* that ride system to impress the f**k outta people when they are going to opening up a ride almost 5 years after the last book or movie. Personally, I would actually like to see a better ride made with the FJ system. I liked the rise system, but thought the ride was pretty lame. I'll go ahead and give Disney Toy Story Mania but the states still haven't brought the Hunny Hunt ride system to the USA, 11 years after it first debuted. However, I'm going to disagree with you on Universal needing an impressive ride system. Star Wars is how old now? And I'd hardly call Star Tours an impressive ride system. Personally, I thought Forbidden Journey's experience as a whole (queue included) blew anything and everything Disney has done in the last decade (in the states) out of the water. I'm very hopeful that this will be equally impressive.
