Love your pictures.... Expecially your x-flight photos... Our Panel at Batwing looks exactly the same at SFA. Did the ride act up at all for you? Also the dominator photos are great... The loops looks larger there than it does at KD for some reason... probably due to the Eiffle Tower. -
^I agree with you completely on everything! A little dissapointed to hear about Blizzard River... how many rafts were they running? Most times the ride needs at least 5 boats to running with no stacking due to the fact that it requires a boat to bump the other to catch onto the conveyor belt. We've already spoken in private about the one train situation.... Overall glad you you were satisfied with the operations. Park needs to work on its backstage visibility (behind roar and two face old spot), needs to put some serious consideration into its philosophy that one train operations are satisfactory (rides should always run every available unit IMO), and needs some more TLC to dated rides (Paint!) but service (team member demeanor, friendliness, ect...) wise, they are on track which is a HUGE 180 from last decade.

A huge B&M invert would be nice... something that could be the tallest inverst all they need is 200ft to beat out alpengeist. Capacity would not be an issue. A floorless would also be nice. -

I would ride Roar 1000x over before I ride Hades again in the back seat... So be thankful for Roar... it is not the smoothest but its no where near the worst. I do not think its is fair to say a park sucks because you happen to have been to alot of the other parks with the same rides. I went to SFOG and OPERATIONS there, especially for rides, was piss poor compared to SFA. But like many, it seems like some people pay more attention to if a park has clones vs the actual overall park experience. Six Flags America, as a park, has a rounded collection coaster experiences. You have an invert, wooden twister, classing out back wooden, a flyer, a launch coaster, and a hyper, and a stand up. Go to some parks and all you have is wooden coasters. Also.... SFNE has dead ends just like SFA.... albiet not as bad at the long journey to Batman which I agree. When I went to Great Adventure, superman especially as dirty beyond belief, over flowed trash can everywhere and bottles all on the ground... pictures to prove it. Some of the most praised parks have some of the same issues as SFA (rough rides, unreliable rides, clones, ect... SFA can't be singled out on those things alone) SFA has improved, but I see how its improvements can be easily overlooked when not compared to its past but to its competitors. Seeing as though the comments that are claiming the parks still sucks are only concerned with rides/clones and not the operation ... seems like the next step for SFA to prove its doubters wrong is to invest in its ride line up with more original rides. I guess the some folks would say Mt. Olympus is better becasue it doesn't have clones despite is horrendous operations since some only care for rides.

Thank you for this trip report. This past weekend I made my first ever trip to the Dells. I stopped at Timber Falls and got the wristband. I did 3 rides on Hell Cat. That ride was my number 1 coasters out of those in the Dells after my first round of riding it and those at Mt. Olympus but overall is my number 2 after a second trip on Hades. I wish I would've paid attention to what you wrote about Hades. My first ride of my life on Hades was in the last car. I was so excited and then I literally thought I was going to Die. the pre-lift portion was relatively smooth but a bit jerky in spots. The big drop I had my hands up and soon regretted. At the bottom of the drop the car was just shaking violently and I had no time (being my first time) to brace for what was to come. Into the darkness I went and I felt completely vulnerable to this ride. I have never felt so afraid on a coaster in my life. I grabbed on at the bottom of the first big drop but the darkness consumes you. The speed and the roughness of the ride and that fact that you can't see forced me to have a face of panic. I wish I would've bought my On ride photo. I would have everyone laughing. Finally we emerged on the other side of the parking lot and I was able to breath. However, I knew I was going to have to go back into the tunnel (or HELL rather). I hoped it would be better on the return trip but this just had me bouncing all over the place. After coming out of the tunnel over the hill, the huge turnaround was the absolute roughest part of the ride. I watched riders on the trains prior to mine all holding on for dear life... no one had their hands up and some were holding their heads. Needless to say, I gave it another try later in the day after my headache went away. I talked to some locals who were waiting in line with me and they advised me that the front seat was way better. So took my second trip in the front row..... and WOW.... As I braced for impact going down the first big drop into the tunnel..... there were no violent jerks, it was much smoother and nice pops of air... I was able to let go and put my hands up and just enjoy the rush. This made Hades my number one coaster out of the Dells. Actually one of my top woodies period... I wish I got to ride is sooner back when it had first opened. I can imagine how much better the ride was. I hope Mt. Olympus pours some effort into smoothing out this ride. I also did Cyclops in the back row.... I survived!!! That is all I can say... and 1 ride was enough for me.

Batwing man is intense IMO and just fine the way it is. I don't think I would want to ride it backwards.... I would kind of be scared to ride it backwards with all the quick transitions. They are better of turning Screamin Eagle around backwards if they are that pressed to have another backwards ride.

Not to mention I have yet to come by a B:TR clone that was not load. You would hear the train getting closer. -
I'd like to call it an Over-banked Dive or a Half Roll Dive or Inline Cutback... because like a zero G/roll all the twisting is taking place in-line however its not fully inverted and it un twists itself back in the direction of the original turn leading into the element.. This ride isn't Stengel's (though influenced) which is why I wouldn't call it a a stengel dive of any sort especially the way this twists in-line. I Suggest "Overbanked Dive" or a "Half-Roll Dive" ..but if you want to be very specific you could call it a "Reverse Overbanked Dive" or a "Reverse Hall-Roll Dive" because the overbank is in the reverse direction of the overall turn. Overall, I vote for "Reverse Overbanked Dive" (Overbanked Dive for short if direction of the bank doesn't matter) because its not completely 180 to the ground to call it half a zero g roll.

WAIT! Didn't you hear that S:UF has been delayed again? .................. July 7th JK! let us hope not But more seriously.... the video shows the speed that the train goes up the front spiral. I'm definitely thinking that the body is going to be thrown outward (away from the track) creating an "out of your seat sensation"... the spiral is not around the heartline... should be an interesting sensation especially at that speed.

Double0Kevin, I agree that Six flags has alot going on that we do not see behind the scenes. Re-reading my post it sounds more like Im not giving them credit for considering things at all... To clarify what I am trying to say is that... given all their thinking... it seems like something is backwards, as if rides per guest or throughput is their priority.... I would never expect a large park to think it's acceptable to add a such low capacity ride. Again, these are some awesome rides, but I just dont agree with some of the decisions. My using Disney's Radiator Springs Racers and Universal Harry Potter was just saying that it would be unacceptable for them to have a ride with 16 rider capacity max. Meaning that, what ever they put in there would be sure that it can accomodate a sizeable amount of guest per hour, meaning capacity is important. I refuse to believe that statement that they considering putting in such low capacity coasters for the sake or raising their FP sales....If that the thinking then they should've just made the rides upcharge attractions! I think it actually harms the guest experience. Kiddie coasters aside.... is S:UF the lowest capacity coaster ever installed at a six flags park post year 2000? Is LL:DOD the lowest capacity Major Thrill Ride installed at a six flags park post 2000? All I'm saying is I would like for parks to build rides with acceptable capacity with the respect to the their attendance figures. Thus why I said Great America is on the right track. S:UF might work for SFDK, i'm not sure of how busy your park gets based on the prior comment it sounds like SFA... if thats the case then it works. BUT LL:DOD I'm not convinced. The point is, I granted they have considered it, I still think some futher consideration could've been made with respect with Rides per guest, ride capacity, and maximum throughput.
