  1. Drachen Fire also had B&M supports, too, not the Arrow lattice shown in ember's screen. @A.J: Amazing.
  2. @Derek: Wow, that's great! I can't wait to see some more screens. @Imawesome: It's accurate, except for two things- 1. The second unbanked turn should go directly uner the structure of the first, like in real life. 2. This particular design in real life didn't have any "real" banked turns, so all those banked turns in your recreation could be changed to regular upward turns, as it'll really give it that 1980s feel but also it won't raise the intensity rating too much. @A.J: I'm loving it so far! Just get rid of those pesky roof-footers!
  3. When Classic Creek opened in the 1960s, it was mostly a type of park where you'd walk your dog and go out to picnics with family and friends. It wasn't until the '70s that Ridgeback's dream finally came true. But back then, many picnic pavilions and fields to run around in were located right next to the park entrance. It gave the guests something to eagerly anticipate before they walked in, watching all the families having fun and enjoying themselves. But after Ridgeback's death, the focus on thrill rides overwhelmed the focus on these pavilions, as they weren't properly maintained and didn't return after the 1989 season. For nearly twenty years, the field was left empty and became overgrown with weeds. But that all changed in the 2006 season... This concept art is for "Altivola" (Latin for "Soar"), a 100ft B&M flyer scream-machine that debuted in 2006 with an inline twist, corkscrew, and pretzel loop. It stands guard right next to the entrance of the park, right where the old picnic pavilions were located. After it opened, it became critically-acclaimed for it's mix of low-to-the-ground maneuvering and high-altitude twists. But Altivola really comes alive at night. Below the final portion of the lift-hill is a giant fog-machine and light show. During the day, the mist only rises a couple feet above the ground, but at night, the fog is turned up high to almost cover the lift, with riders looking down on a misty, cloudy lightning storm (hence the blue lights). "It really enhances the experience," exclaims one park guests on opening night. "You really get the feeling of danger that you're bordering a frightening thunderstorm!" Because it focuses on real thrills and not highest heights, it proved to be the most profitable edition Classic Creek had ever received. It provides an experience you will never forget. Be sure to check out "Altivola" at Classic Creek Thrill Resort! Classic Creek, Pensacola, FL
  4. I adore that picture of Dominator's loop! All the other pictures are fantastic, too.
  5. Part of me thinks that youre foreshadowing the removal of "Firebomb"....
  6. ^Thanks Derek, I appreciate it.
  7. Well I believe there's some Will Ferrell screaming at you.. or is it just my mind? Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Isn't it something about meatloaf? The on-board audio just doesn't make any sense, but I guess it enhances the experience...only if done right.
  8. He's talking about the coaster after the 2012 one we're debating, "I know we're watching an entirely different coaster slowly coming to fruition,"
  9. Intimidator- Carowinds (365) 37% Intimidator 305- Kings Dominion (516) 53% Go TPR! Anyways, the rising-turn looks much cooler to me than the old one. This is gonna be one great new experience!
  10. Let's see if this works. JZ-MSLID.DAT
  11. I know I'm just another fish in the barrel here, but that really does suck. I'm glad you got everything sorted out. I would add you, but the only time I've met you was at ECB, and I was too shy to talk to anyone or make some friends. So I would probably not get accepted.
  12. ^Yes. Some of the data files don't work even with the export-plugins option, I'm assuming it's APBRICK (AP) as I've had a similar problem with this DAT before so I'll attach it just in case. AP.DAT
  13. Here's the download, sorry for the delay. Grand Grove Thrill Resort Final.zip
  14. ^Agreed, if you look closely that's the only piece of track that's been put up.
  15. Sounds good, Derek. It's a vertical lift-megalite hybrid, so hopefully it'll look good. I'll PM you the park when I get back from my haircut appointment.
  16. So, I need someone to merge a coaster for me, since Vista never seems to l et me. Anyone up for it?
  17. You can see leftover Smurf theming inside Volcano at KD, it's hard to believe that some of the "theming" stood as a log flume ride not too long ago... O, and it makes me sad that the Hypersonic track is no longer in the field beyond Grizzly, I loved looking for it while riding....good memories....
  18. That's what I've always wondered. To me it doesn't seem hard to dodge an incoming train when you've got adrenaline and an extra 5 or so seconds on your side.
  19. I agree, I don't know why they decided to paint the steel track that shade of red- it just doesn't blend! Black would have been a little better, in my opinion.
  20. Does anyone know exactly what land KD owns? I remember reading that it's bought a TON of land surrounding the park but I don't see how they can actually get to that land. Considering the park is pretty much boxed in with all the coasters and rides, pathways would have to go under (or completely around, which would be quite a walk) rides like i305.
