  1. I love that video! I'm old enough to remember the Kings Island footage from the opening credits of the Banana Splits cartoons! Does the park make the shirts for you when you deliver the design? My fan shirts have been blocked by Zazzle recently because they say I'm violating copyright with the park logo. Wait, CustomInk? Gotta try it. We had to get those shirts approved through Planning & Design and they give us the rights to use that logo on that particular shirt. So if custom ink or any other place ask us if we have permission to use the artwork, we have the rights to show them.
  2. I had these designed for our crew this year what do you think?
  3. At Cedar Point, our area manager from the past year sends out an email to their employees of the past year that has a form you fill out to request any ride you would like to work. ( It isn't guaranteed you will get that ride, they cant put everyone that wants Maverick, TTD, or MF on those crews). As for me I am requesting Team Leader of Mean Streak for this next summer, Maverick as leadership was fun but it was stressful and don't want t o do it again. Oh by the way 2014 applications are now out, and if anyone would like to work at Cedar Point I would suggest filling one out asap. IT will be one of the best summers of your life, Trust me I'm on year #7 and I can't believe how amazing each summer can be. https://jobs.cedarfair.com/cedarpoint/index.cfm?logout Hopefully Ill see some of you here
  4. Those only work for the trims out behind Monster. The trims for the helix were computerized a few years ago.
  5. I noticed that during our visit in 2008. They started with 4 persons, then 6 and so on. I have been there on days when they launch 2 at a time! Then after a few launches, you would see 2 more people, etc. This is done to warm up the launch system on colder days (it's crazy how a few degrees can affect a coaster from barley making it to being way to fast.) and has nothing to do with whether the ride was down the day prior or not. It would rollback constantly on cold days if you loaded an a full train after empty trains. There's a big scientific answer behind this but I do not want to write a novel.
  6. Magnum's 3rd hill was modified after it was causing people to hit their heads on the grab bars. It also had brass pads as upstops until a train valleyed in the pretzel turnaround and were replaced with wheel upstops. Gemini also has gone through some modifications one of the horseshoe turns ( I believe the one above the station had to be lowered ) as well as the 2nd hill. It used to run 6 trains up until 2002, and it is the only coaster in the park that is ran manually where the ride host stop the trains themselves in the station. When Dragster opened the trains only had 4 cars till about the end of May, early June and had the engine/fins/wheels on the back until mid to late June of '03 it was replace with a row of seats. Gatekeeper's station/ lift hill is the spot of 5 other coasters that used to stand there ( Figure 8 Racer, Cyclone, Wildcat, Jumbo Jet, Avalanche Run/ Disaster Transport)
  7. I don't see this being as forceful as Raptor, I feel it will be more along the lines as Gatekeeper.
  8. I want to thank not only Robb and Elissa but the entire TPR community and especially everyone that help make the Maveshark ERT AMAZING. It was one of my favorite days in the 6 now 7 years being a ride operator.
  9. Cedar Fair: Maverick Six Flags: El Toro SeaWorld Entertainment: Griffon Herschend: Thunderhead Individual Park: Skyrush
  10. I love the minimalistic, open feeling that Skyrush's Trains offer
  11. I still dont get why some parks need to do this double check. It's an inefficient and slow. I was always taught to check both the lap bar and seat belt at the same time.
  12. On behalf of my crew, Thank you for your kind words. We're glad we could make the ERT spectacular, so youre welcome. but no need to thank us , It's our job to get people excited to ride on top of making sure you're properly secured and what not. ( or at least in my opinion) We would be glad to serve you guys again.
  13. I'm probably wrong but wasnt that Kingdom of the Dinosaurs ride at Knott's?
  14. Ride Logo This thread will follow not on the Model of a coaster I am build but it No Limits counterpart. Lotan is a B&M Floorless coaster. I have refined this layout off and on for the last 5 years. I wanted this to be realistic layout that B&M would build. (Some of you might recognize it as a NL coaster I uploaded a few years ago under the name Adventure). I am also making a Coasterdynamix model of the same layout as well. Ill try to post progress shots at least once a week. But alas here is the stats on the ride 171 ft tall 67 mph 4,689 ft 7 inversions - Sea Serpent Loop Zero G Roll Immelmann Interlocking Corkscrews Other elements - High speed low banked turn 360 degree helix Three trains 8 cars 4 people per car 32 people per train Colors - Purple supports Green track/ ties yellow Rails Hydra Trains Thank you for taking your time to look at this and I hope you enjoy following along. any tips on building CD models is greatly appreciated Latest Progress. 15. Thunder Road already does that.
  16. There are three diffrent shades, the one with the seats is the natural looking gold seat backs, the other two are a copper color and a real dark gold.
  17. Thanks for giving my crew such an amazing experience at Maverick Thursday night. It will go down as one of if not my favorite memory as a ride host.
  18. For everyone that's ridden Maverick, what do you think of the crew. I want to know anything that could be better or things we doing well on. I appreciate the feedback, and look forward to seeing any TPR people this summer.
  19. From CP's twitter Those of you who guessed, "the new LED sign up front" are the winners! It's now being installed. pic.twitter.com/1ygUoVpPg9
