Looking at the drawings, it looks like they might need the space to relocate a few rides from Surfside. Based soley on the drawing, 'it' might not be in the best place, but as much as they seem to be able to pack on their piers (not the drunk guys from England) I could see 'it' not needing to be moved. I personally think he is grasping for straws and was out of ideas so why not follow in grandad's footsteps and do what he did to start out. I too really wonder how much he could make off of three or four kiddie rides a few hours each week, but when I look at Mile High Flea Market in Denver, they seem to be doing well with their selectin of kiddie rides, but I also think they are open three days vs 1 day a week. I guess we will see where it leads too. He's said recently he would probably take the kiddie ride route again (afterall he doesn't have many adult/teenage rides left) I guess he held true to his word so I can't knock it too bad. ^ I've got several street shots just nothing I could fit into the video. It all looks nice, it's just kinda blah. I do agree they made great strides starting in 2008 but it seems like it's all in infrastructure (it was badly needed afterall) But you can only invest in infrastructure so long before you have to add something big so I hope they are able to for 2012. Marketing wise I see a lot rolling across FB and a few ads in T-Town really pushing the waterpark more than the amusement park. As far as crowds this was on Labor Day. Flat rides were about a 1 cycle wait, on occasion a 2 cycle wait. The sling shot thingy was about a 90 minute wait(it's free afterall) Steel Lasso was about a 10 train wait with Silver Bullet a 2 train wait, odd. I noticed it was like a revolving door, people would come in, stay a few hours, leave, and a new group would roll in. I'd like to see them either tear down the building were the old wildcat stands for an e-ticket or put in a new themed wild mouse similar to Dark Knight. But anyway, here is some more porn, uncut:

I know that the topic at hand here are ride ops who aren't checking restraints properly or missing people, etc, but what about the ops that just don't care and don't check the restraints at all? Several parks I've been to this year come to mind, most recently being Lake Winnie where they didn't check the restraints on the drop tower, White Lightnin' or Cannonball, they just looked to make sure they were down (well, maybe ). Same on their Matterhon. Other parks where ops seem to have that practice this year include Lakeside and Funtown Splashtown where they could care less what you did in the bumper cars. Hell they didn't even check our restraints (at least on my train) on Superman during ERT @ DSB. Was their a need to? No, the ride tells them if the seats are secured or not. Were we at first a little shocked? Sure, but then as people who ride these things for a hobby knows, we were safe, B&M would not let us down or allow the train to dispatch with seats not registering as secured/locked. Some parks check, some parks don't care, some ops check, some ops don't care. Did I feel less safe? No. Since many parks are self insured or least partially self insured, restraint checking is probably more for their benefit than the public and not really a necessity.

How about some midweek video porn? Yes you say? Ok. For some odd reason I decided to go back to Frontier City this year to see if things had improved over last year. Sadly they really haven't. While the only major ride down was the drop tower(it was also down on my visit last year), operations were slow. It took no less than 10 minutes to load and start the enterprise wheel, same went for the scrambler. Wildcat was only dispatching once every 8 to 10 minutes resulting in about an hour wait for the 125 or so in the station. Surprisingly the log flume was running four logs, and the shooting dark ride was still fully functional. The go-kart track was unboarded this year, but not in operation on this day. The park remains clean but the staff didn't appear to be too motivated. They are also in desperate need of a new e-ticket as their last new ride at the park was Steel Lasso, a Vekoma Family Suspended coaster in 2008. The new attraction wouldn't necessarily need to be a new coaster. A Huss Frisbee, Screamin Swing, Aviator, or StarFlyer, just something that is attractive in operation that would spruce up the park and bump up attendance, and maybe my opinion on the the place So here is the video I shot on Labor Day. The cake was awesome Brandy! I'm kinda with you on riding during the day, I go to these events to hang out with friends, the backstage tours, the crazy games, and of course ERT! At this bash event I rode a lot more than any other event to date, sure I had plans to go to the hotel and/or Dixieland (did that on Sunday) but I opted to hang with a few TPR peeps and enjoy the park. Hope to run into you guys at a future event!

No worries man, the crew was really rushing us, which isn't a bad thing at all! And again, appreciate you doing that for me. It really was the single best bash event for me so far, can't wait to do it again! And Jo, yes, it was turned on
