  1. If I had to choose between the three Flying Dutchmen, it would have to be Firehawk. I really enjoyed it when it was at Geauga Lake, but ever since it got moved to Kings Island, the ride hasn't been the same.
  2. Great pics of the old Phantom! It's got me itching to go to Kennywood! Too bad it's November.
  3. ^ Why can't we see more commercials like this anymore? This is awesome! It's actually gotten me pumped for my visit to SFOT in December! I can't wait to ride Shockwave-wave-wave-wave!
  4. ^ That may be true, but S&S has a history of bad prototypes. I can still remember waiting forever for Hypersonic XLC because of how many times it broke down. A project like the Polercoaster is very ambitious. If they sell a handful of these and they're all crap, it's going to be a PR nightmare for S&S.
  5. Maybe the Vegas PoleDancercoaster is still happening? Either way, 2014 looks to be a great year for S&S. As an engineer, I'd be extremely reluctant to sell more than one of these at first. S&S did the same thing when they first introduced the Screaming Swing. They sold several, and they were all plagued with problems. They need to build only one prototype, fix all of the bugs, and then they can sell a bunch.
  6. I wasn't expecting the one in Vegas to get approved, but I also wasn't expecting this! This might give me a reason to go back to North Georgia.
  7. I accidentally timed my first visit to Universal Studios to be the exact date of removal for Jaws. It ended up breaking down while we were riding. We were stranded near the lighthouse, and our skipper did a fantastic job of staying in character during the wait. We arrived at the park around 4:00 PM, and it was dark by the time we got off!
  8. If I wouldn't have been a stupid kid, I would have gotten lots of kiddie credits that I can't get now. I really wish I would have ridden Jr. Gemini and Beaver Land Mine Ride (Geauga Lake) back in the day. Now, Jr. Gemini mocks me and the Tivoli is in France! I've learned never to skip anything (unless unavoidable) and to always ask if adults can ride the kiddie coasters!
  9. This park certainly looks really promising, but let's hope it doesn't end up like Hard Rock Park/Freestyle Music Park. (Still kicking myself for not visiting it before it closed) If this park opens up, I'm definitely visiting it within its first few months!
  10. I'm excited for all of the new parks I'm planning to visit next year like La Ronde, Silver Dollar City, Six Flags St. Louis, and Knoebels. I REALLY wanted to do Scandi, but alas, I could not. Hoping to try to go somewhere in Europe on my own, but a visit to SoCal might have to do instead. Coaster-wise, I can't wait to ride Banshee! I about crapped my pants when they announced it.
  11. I'm so excited for the Pacific Northwest tour! It's so hard to do all of these parks in one go, but it will be an amazing TPR tour! Especially with that internal flight. It's a shame that it will be out of season for the Washington State Fair to ride that classic woodie. I assume we'd be flying in and out of Seattle?
  12. All of these views posted are simply spectacular!
  13. I don't mean to complain about this, but it doesn't look like I've gotten my signature banner yet...
  14. I've decided to participate at Dorney Park for this wonderful event! https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/michaelwilsonwv/DorneyPark
  15. I'll definitely be there!! I can't wait for this day on LeviaTHON!
  16. My last coaster was at Kennywood in July (I just didn't have the time to go anywhere after that), and it was either Racer or Jack Rabbit.
  17. I remember waiting a few hours for Millennium Force before Top Thrill Dragster opened, but at least those lines were worth it. The worst lines I've ever waited for was Face Off/Invertigo at Kings Island during the last season it was under Paramount management. The employees decided to have a party in the operator's booth and turned a 20 min wait into a 90 min wait. That was the first and last time I've ridden it.
  18. My first roller coaster was the Rollo Coaster at Idlewild Park. I was two years old at the time.
  19. I think the two most prevalent in my mind are Gwazi (prior to new trains) and Mean Streak. I typically don't like overly rough wooden coasters, but I really enjoy these two oddly enough.
  20. Favorite Steel: Griffon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg Favorite Wood: The Legend at Holiday World
  21. Firehawk at Kings Island. It was the best ride I have ever had on it since it's relocation from Geauga Lake. http://www.rcdb.com/3793.htm?p=19650
  22. The lack of Big Bad Wolf was definitely the highlight of the disappointments in 2010. Shoot the Rapids not being open for CoasterMania was another big one too.
  23. I stayed here the first time I ever went to Cedar Point. If you choose to not stay on the peninsula or Breakers Express, this hotel is the way to go.
  24. The customer service was definitely the worst i had ever experienced at SFA, especially with their summer employees. I have to say SFA hired the dumbest employees. When I visited, the employees didn't know what Dramamine was. I mean, come on, you work in an amusement park and you don't know what Dramamine is?
