  1. Just a detail note: the restraints are supposed to be red, a pretty easy thing to fix.
  2. It seems as though silverwood has also acquired a MEGAtube. It's name is ricochet rapids and unlike NRH20's version, the MEGAtube element is near the start instead of as a finale. NRH20's version
  3. ^^I completely agree. if someone wanted to have the record they could just stuff the park with low cost, small footprint kiddie/family coasters and, bang record taken. as for a Cedar Point woodie, a gravity group twister like the one at Grona Lund could easily fit and for that pre-fab, a balder clone along the beach could also work out, there are still many options.
  4. The merchandise that will come afterward. What's worse than hearing that an intamin pre-fab is being torn down and replaced with hurler?
  5. If mondial made it so the arms would just swing out, without the free motion conection, it could have been a "safer" ride. there are many rides that only allow riders to swing side to side and not in and out, and that is what both Cedar fair/point AND mondial should have taken into consideration when designing this attraction. Bruising is not the only injury that could be sustained, mind you, those cars are heavy and could quite easily break or fracture a leg if there are high enough wind gusts. Also to settle a debate about Cedar point putting 7 more rows of seats, each bench has two seats, adding 7 more of those will increase capacity by 14 riders. Which is almost like adding another maverick train and then some!
  6. The only problem I see with the "Iron Horse" treatment is that if it becomes popular, classically built wooden coaster numbers could decrease due to people wanting a smoother, more exiting ride(I am excluding pre-fab in that list as it is already pretty smooth.)
  7. krwlng-linkin park(REANIMATION)
  8. ^General GP comment: They took the alligators because someone died.
  9. Wait. Fuji-Q being EFFICIENT??? WTF!! Please don't let the world end in 2012. Please don't let the world end in 2012. Please don't let the world end in 2012.
  10. I don't think opening that coke will end well, carbonated beverage and roller coaster don't really mix. On the other hand it isn't shake but constant forces on the bottle, I still wouldn't open it right away. NOTE: Where in the U.S. do you see the old glass coke bottles used at a restaurant?
  11. My worst headbanging so far was on sidewinder at hershey park on its last year of operation with the old trains. Absolutely terrible boomerang. It seems the idea is "if it is done right, OTSRs are okay, but do it wrong, and the last thing you'll want are OTSRs." That is in cooperation with the manufacturer, I've never had a problem with B&Ms but I almost always had a problem with the vekomas, except for zoomerang a lake compounce, almost glass smooth with arrow trains, I have yet to ride an SLC but I'll try to start off with fly the great nor'easter.
  12. ^Yes that is what I was going at! And yes, you DO flop forward on sky rocket, it doesn't matter if you are restrained by the legs or not, you still get pushed forward, and sky rocket's holding brake is more abrupt than a B&M diver's because you are going at such a speed into the brake. There is also an ability to place a lap bar on a floorless coaster, I mean look at blue fire at Europa Park, it has an overhead lap bar design. As I've stated earlier in this thread, intamin could probably get away with that as well. The real reason for lap bars on inverting coasters is for freedom of movement and lack of headbanging. EDIT: Where would the thrill of a drop be if you were already hanging at 90 degrees(you would only get a force equivalent to 0gs.) MOD EDIT: I removed your embedded YouTube video, as TPR does not support the group that made it. cfc
  13. Does this look like 90 degrees to you: It looks more like 45-50 degrees to me and after all, sky rocket actually does have a holding brake.
  14. The old KICK BOODIE ride was built on the idea that the cars could swing forward or backward, look:
  15. Does anyone here listen to Blue Man Group, their works are incredible, and their instruments are amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RAVemPIAtc One of their works Drumbone a work dedicated to a PVC instrument they made.(Sorry, TPR wouldn't let me put this to a youtube embed for some reason.)
  16. Having waited for hours for such to happen and to leave with said friend. What's worse than being forced to marathon a wooden vekoma SLC that rides like Rattler in its opening year .
  17. The prices make it even better, the price of the ECB ticket with included food, ERT, photo walkback tour is CHEAPER than the actual ticket price.
  18. ^Sorry for not mentioning where this is at, it is at wet 'n wild Phoenix,AZ.
  19. NEWS: The first constrictor slide is up and running, here's a video: and here's a pic: Yes, those are full 360 degree turns. It looks like whitewater is putting a new spin to the classic serpentine slides without separate elements(it is just a wider tube).
  20. ^^^ It also states that they dispute any nonassociation which means that they were always involved, it is rare to find two double negative typos in one paragraph. They most likely did it to mess with those who didn't notice that it was a double negative.
  21. The waterless simulation can't simulate, well water. In the Tornados, water pools up at the bottom and keeps it from going too fast. In theory it should not flop over the sides in reality. This also makes them look more exiting to those who are watching those videos, the actual thing should be even more tame. EDIT: sorry for the double post but they are almost six months apart .
  22. ^ That's correct, everyone on the mailing list gets this update. I just put it to TPR because it is news, like the MEGAtubes from whitewater. Sorry if I caused any confussion.
  23. Looks neat. But I'm confused, do they have a 14 year old working as their PR guy? Or was that a copy/paste from an email reply to the 14 year old member? As posted above I am on the ProSlide mailing list, they send me updates on new rides, tech, ect. to my Email account.
  24. For those of you who aren't on the ProSlide mailing list, this is the new ProSlide KrakenRACER: (Photo courtesy of Prosilde) Doesn't it look similar to this? (Photo courtesy of TPR(IAAPA)) It has been less than a year and Rapids waterpark has already picked up one. As stated above, the official name is the KrakenRACER to avoid any confusion. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.
