It's always funny to read how the least profitable park, and least attended in the chain's guests talk about the park. What are you expecting management to have done, put huge coasters in a park that wouldn't turn back a penny. Seasons without profitability = No go for Six Flags. However, I am excited to see the Koch's take over and in a few years, I might actually head back to Kentucky Kingdom after 7 years.

New Direction Announced A Message from Park president Alie Gaffan: Go-Karts will open at the beginning of August, only two weeks away! Guests really enjoy the optional lockers. I really love this photo, it shows the true nature of our park! Poseidon towers over Ancient Greece! But, does it top Goliath's Zero-Gravity drop? Top Speed's queue canopies were removed. Goliath is a fantastic coaster!

June I should take this time to introduce myself. My name is Max Greywall, Director of Public Relations. I'll be keeping you all up to date on everything happening around the park! Today, I thought it would be nice to show you all a detailed look at our new additions. Rok'n'Roll is a guest favorite! With our new emphasis on EXPERIENCES, Elements surely delivers! Literally! Guests can purchase their rooms online, or right here! The hotel is great! Operated by the Hilton company, who are doing a great job! Our ferris wheel is outstandingly huge! I love it! This small garden is a fantastic place to cool off in the warm summer months. View out of the top floor of the Hilton. Stunning! I've received a few calls about this, and I'd like to confirm that the launch tunnel on Top Speed was removed for safety purposes. I hope to get to know you all better in the coming years! Please keep the fantastic feedback coming!

Mass ride removal trends
liftsifter replied to megametal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On the idea that "Shwarzkopfs are indestructible." Great America just replaced huge chunks of track on Whizzer in 2011. So, I wouldn't say their indestructible. -
When V2 was originally installed in 2001, it was causing structural damage. A few years later, Intamin came in and added a more rigid support system, and that fixed that. In May 2009, V2 was struck by lightning and that resulted in a few weeks of downtime. It was an issue with power surges and such. They discovered that the source of the surges was the Holding Brake. So they killed it and the ride now lives happily ever Intamin.

When someone spits all over the restraint. THAT IS NOT COOL. Come on people. Had that happen to me on Iron Wolf, someone spit all over the restraint and seat belt, and the ride op gave me this shrug like, "Deal with it."

NEW OWNERSHIP Thrill Mountain announces a new ownership of the park starting TODAY! Pacifica Hotel Corporation has bought Thrill Mountain Amusement Park and all trademarks and licenses, which include partnerships with local businesses. Alie Gaffan will replace Jason Thompson as Park President, and Max Greywall will replace Alex Duzski as Public Relations Advisor. SEASONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Just as we do every season, we're announcing what's new for next year! NEW for next season, GOLIATH! with a heart-pounding zero-gravity drop, FIVE INVERSIONS, and floorless trains, Goliath will make all guests scream! Goliath is joined by three new flat rides, Rok'n'Roll, a classic bumper car attraction, Twister, a scrambler ride, and Pharoah's Fury for all the younger guests! ALSO, Endure ELEMENTS! Typhoon was never THIS crazy! Experience Land (Green), Air (Orange), Water (Blue), and Fire (Red)! Also new, HILTON at Thrill Mountain! This new HILTON hotel will offer free admission to all of their guests, and is found through the Western area. To make things even better, the park announced an expanded schedule of year-round operations for the upcoming season! Goliath is a stunning coaster! Twister brings back some memories! Pharoah's Fury will bring new memories for our younger guests! Elements' outstanding paint job will attract many guests! Air, Water, Fire and Land. This Hilton is owned by Pacifica Hotels. What a stunning skyline!

August It's already August, and we've yet to see an announcement regarding next year's additions. Is it possible we'll only see a repainted Typhoon? I certainly hope not! Baynum Company has been contracted to paint Typhoon! Corkscrews are already complete! The entire plot is already cleared. Nothing new is happening here. This can't just be one ride, it's too big! Gun Stringer is still here! Still the craziest coaster in the park! But for how much longer? Only time will tell!

Demon's Inferno Removal I hope you've all gotten your last rides on Demon's Inferno! It's time for an update on removal, which has flown by! Can't wait to see what replaces it! I don't think there's a chance of riding Demon's Inferno! Supports on one truck, and launch system, and trains on another! How interesting to see the coaster without the river! Hello? Hello? Is Anyone Out There? Just a few days later, and nearly all the track is gone! More removal. Only the launch is left now! Within 30 days, Demon's Inferno has been removed and all that remains are footers! The skyline has been stripped of Demon's Inferno! All that remains is the station, but how much longer will it stand? More VERY soon!!! All feedback is much appreciated! The park will be taking a bit of a turn here, so bare with me, and I'm sure you'll love what I have planned!

Nice work guys! Liking the attention to detail here! -
June Through we've had an unexpectedly long off-season, we're officially open, with a lot of news! Demon's Inferno will be leaving Thrill Mountain after June 30! Get your last rides before it's all over! I wonder what will be happening over here? This family attraction has proved to be very successful, maybe we'll see more family attractions soon? I've received confirmation to the rumors: Typhoon WILL be receiving a new paint job soon! I wonder what colors will grace a park favorite? Meanwhile, guests in Ancient Greece are enjoying Poseidon! Don't pinch your self, it's real! Chubasco has been removed for future expansion! We're very excited! The Raging Plague is always a fun coaster! Whatever colors Typhoon gets, I hope their just as popping as the bright blue was! GunStringer will be all alone on this side once Demon's Inferno is gone!
-
Sorry for the poor quality, I am an off-season engineer at the park and was quickly able to catch this photo on my phone. Pictured is Chubasco in flames. The local police department is investigating what went wrong, but the park will be removing Chubasco regardless of cause. I'm sorry I don't have any more details, I hope more can be released soon, to assure the safety of our guests.

TWO SEASON TIME LAPSE I cannot believe how fast the park has progressed! This is all thanks to the yearly grants given to the park by the local government of Glados Heights. This new season marks the first year without government funding, and it may just be a quiet year with additions. We'll just have to see! Poseidon dominates the skyline, along with TOP SPEED! The all new Ancient Greece section will open in just a few more weeks! The Gun Stringer is the park's first collaborative themed coaster! Poseidon dominates the midway! Typhoon will need some paint soon, but is just as fun as ever! Such grace and beauty! Of course Top Speed will never be TOPped! (that's punny!) What a coaster! Such innovation can be found at this park. I wonder what the future may hold! More soon!

Very similar to Iron Wolf! Love this so much! Keep up the outstanding work! -
Thanks for all the support guys! I'm sure many of you will love what's going to happen now through the next few seasons of this park! --- June The spring months have flown by, and it's already summer! A surprise addition this season! For all of our younger guests, aspiring to ride Southern Drop! Twister has been removed for this season. Will it be back?! Guests LOVE Vortex! I hope we never lose this amazing log flume! The distortion tunnel on Top Speed will make your head spin! That's pretty high, you know, it's only the tallest and fastest coaster ON THE PLANET! New and Old... I'll take both!

Lots of potential here! Can't wait to see more! Tip: Change the color of the footer cement to a gray or white. -
February We're so close to the start of our second season! Lots of construction has happened this winter, and we're very excited with the future of the park! The new main entrance is completed, and will be able to handle 75% more guests in the coming seasons! It's really interesting to see Vortex with no water! To provide a safer place for guests to keep their belongings, we've installed lockers near the main entrance! Raging Plague is near completion, shouldn't be long now! Chubasco got some new signage! Confederate Corner is a beautiful river-front view over the vastly open area the park sits on. What a different view of Demon's Inferno! See you on April 7th! (Remember to buy your season pass at your local Kroger or Dairy Queen!)
