  1. It was actually the beginning of the day. Yes, I forgot the Stinger pics. I'll post them in the near future.
  2. I have some more cool time-lapses- Enterprise Monster Apollo - Pic 1 Apollo 2 Apollo 3 Apollo 4 HangTime 1 Hang Time 2 Musik Express If you want any tips for time-lapse with a point-and-shoot (that doesn't really support REAL time-lapse at all), here is what I did 1.Set it to Fireworks mode 2. Wait for night (Fireworks mode lets too much light in to work in the day) 3. Set exposure time (if your camera allows it, mine does) 4. Go to ride with prominent lights. 5. Take picture when ride is moving 6. Hold the camera still until it stops exposing the lens. 7. Wait for the camera to process the pic. 8. Enjoy your new time-lapse!
  3. I went to Dorney Park recently and took some pics. Not all of them turned out good with my point-and-shoot that is bad with night shots. Here they are... Let's just say that Hydra is pretty dang awesome! They had one of those KMG-type pendulum rides that is NOT a ghetto fair ride - a rarity! After nightfall, the camera produces a good time-lapse pic with the fireworks mode. Meteor is pictured here in all of it's looping awesomeness! Another ride that apparently belongs in a carnival... As I said, my camera stinks at night, so I'll just finish this night off with a time-lapse of Wave Swinger. Another day, another ride on Hydra! By cutting through Planet Snoopy, we got to ride Hydra 3 times in the front row without a line! Here is a shot of the JoJo rool (more awesomeness) Before leaving for Thunderhawk, we take this final shot of Hydra. The train is coming out of the cobra roll, which is distorted, hence the weird bank on the track. It is the oldest coaster I've ridden, yet one of the smoothest woodies! There is some unexpected ejector air up front! Next stop - Steel Force! Steel Force was O.K., but I like Magnum better. Steel Force leaves a lot to be desired when is comes to airtime, and it can't compare to Magnum's final bunny hop stretch. The night before, I rode it, and there was this girl behind me chickening out... Our next stop is Wicked Twister - wait, I mean Possessed. Possessed is scarier than Wicked Twister due to the holding brake on the back spire. I visited an old friend - his name is Demon Drop! There was literally a shirt in the emporium saying "Demon Drop - We Recycle!". I think it is a pun on the "recycling" of Demon Drop to Dorney Park. Talon was pretty good. It was better than the sister coaster (Patriot). I would have gotten a pic coming out of the Immelmann, but someone puked on the train... Timelapse! I might post more later. Right now, what do you like about this?
  4. It looks better than the 1st pic. That sidewinder is so stretched that RCDB calls it an immelman http://www.rcdb.com/10226.htm Seriously, maybe they did this in an attempt to make it less sudden and head-bangy? However they only succeeded in adding hangtime before the end of the element. BTW, if I would redesign that, I'd probably make the twist out of the immelman start earlier. It looks less painful in this pic than in the first. BTW, I rode Thunderhawk @ Michigan's Adventure back in 2008, and it was pretty good! It was likely my favorite steel coaster in the park - "steel" being because Shivering Timbers was pretty good. Maybe they redid the trains a bit after it came from Geauga Lake? Gutterflower (you are roomie from NE, right?), you should really send those pics to the RCDB. Any land clearing for the ripoff intamin going on yet? Is there signs of other rides? Others - has anybody ridden a ripoff SLC? (Or any other ripoff, for that matter) Is it any worse than the real thing? I won't be going there anytime soon, considering I'm pretty much confined to North America - I've never been below the equator and only been in another continent once - Europe (when I was a baby, my parents took me to Italy) - so I'm not much of a long-range traveler.
  5. ^OK, what does the A stand for? Is it Airtime? I really like the ejector air at the top of the hills on Maverick.
  6. ^Even Vekomas get stuck. Remember Jubilee Odyssey?
  7. Sorry for going off-topic, but what is NTag?
  8. Still, you got a massive giga just last year. IDK why Maverick was marketed as "family", but if that is a family coaster, imagine what a thrill coaster is in CF's eyes However, CF is too cheap to please the masses. BTW, why didn't they just put Windseeker up front instead of having to waste money on Ocean Motion's relocation?
  9. ^Actually, I believe that Vekoma is Dutch and Intamin is Swiss.
  10. So essentially a taller mirror image of Colossus with an extra loop and the hill crosses the exit of the cobra roll? Well, Vekoma is cleaning up their act with the Carolina Cobra trains. Also, Boomerang at WOF is not horrible. Then again, the only Vekoma I regularly see is Woodstock Express @ CP .
  11. to the 2nd power? Is there any signs of the 11 loop coaster? And do u have any more pics of the ripoff SLC?
  12. ^And they ain't good at it, either-even when coasters are not involved- Now imagine that, but people's lives depend on the quality. That is what you get with this coaster.
  13. That pic is actually from a (now dismantled) infamous coaster in North Korea. Imagine that, but with 11 complex inverted turns and bends in the track.
  14. Yeah, I love Cedar Point and Cedar Fair. But however, they took out a family ride that anybody could enjoy and replaced it with a cruddy $5 upcharge attraction. They need a new coaster. Couldn't they make a coaster that could please all? And keep in mind that CP considered Maverick a "family coaster" before they changed the height restriction...
  15. http://www.rcdb.com/9821.htm Basically, it sounds like a taller Colossus with an extra loop. Why does Aisa get all the record-breaking coasters while Cedar Point gets Dinosaurs Alive Weird thing is, this coaster along with the other coaster in the park(http://www.rcdb.com/10226.htm) are made by Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing Co.,Ltd, a company who has only made 4 coasters (including these two) They sound like they've ripped off Intamin and Vekoma or B&M. A nolimits pic on their site looks eerily like Colossus. But wait- The same company also ripped off arrow/Vekoma- And then ripped off Arrow/Vekoma AGAIN- They have a site at http://www.hbgsc.com/ At the bottom, look at the scrolling pictures - they include Intamin and Vekoma pictures. I have my doubts about this comany...
  16. I went on this a few years ago with my mom. It was so bumpy we bumped heads! It was worse than it's big cousin Mean Streak (And I thought that was bad!). Hopefully the OMFG turns will be fun.
  17. Found this- Well, it is a genuine Vekoma. A genuine Shenlin w/ helix. It has an almost identical layout, with a helix at the end. Another golden horse, which answers the question "Where did the Inverted Hairpin coaster in Rollercoaster tycoon 2 get inspired?" RIPOFFS- From Beijing Shibaolai Amusement Equipment, comes more ripoffs. This one is the Shenzou Coaster. The model is Hanging Coaster the "Hand roller coaster". Has anybody ridden one of these.
  18. http://www.rcdb.com/9463.htm 2012- multi-launch coaster. Cheetah hunt clone? Maybe. Intamin? Probably. Well, we have almost a year to speculate.
  19. Chinese companies CONSTANTLY rip off Vekoma. Like this- Flare Meteor @ Fantawild Adventure Golden Horse made it. Is it a bird? A plane? An SLC? No, a rip-off! To make the Chinese barf up their lo mein noodles, the 4 inversions are in quick succession. The back car is even a rip off of Vekoma's restraint system. We can only hope that it won't bang your skull to pudding. Some inclined-loop-helix thingamajig with the 1st drop in the background. The riders anxiously wait to get their heads beaten up by a vekom... er, Golden horse ride. As far as I know, the ride- -Goes up the lift -Drops down and turns 270 degrees under the lift -Loop, cobra roll, and twist -Inclined-loop-helix thingamajig -Brakes Have any of you rode a vekoma ripoff? I've only been on a genuine Vekoma (Thunderhawk @ Michigans Adventure), which is actually a (gasp!) decent ride!
