  1. LOL talk about rubber necking, that lady in the video head/neck looks like it should be on stretch Armstrong.

I was wondering something TOT and S:TE are both 415 feet tall, SFMM sits atleast I'm guessing 35 to 50 feet off the ground does TOT sit that high off the ground also?

In one of the reviews for TOT2 it was said the car is comming to about 10 feet or so from the top of the tower, So what I'm trying to get at, is what is the total vertical drop of these rides? How tall is the tower itself? and if it's getting pretty close to the brakes at the top then how much drop footage can one expect.

I've never ridden S:TE and seam to get anywhere near those brakes at the top, so if the upgraded S:TE get anywhere near that high this should be one amazing freefall drop.

  2. Imo this doesn't look like it was drawn by a 10 year old this looks like legit concept artwork regardless if it was drawn by a fan it's excellent.

If this was a real ride it would be amazing Imo

Most concept artwork looks like if it was built likes it's being shown in the concept would kill people.

If SFMM wasn't investing in the S:TE upgrade this would looks awesome on top of the mountain in S:TE spot imo.

  3. No no no your all wrong that's Castle Park in Riverside, Ca , I hear it will have a massive rose bowl over the 91 freeway and run so close to the Kaiser hospital you'll be able to see live births from the triple down.

But seriouly it's odd this is going on in a park in the US and no ones reported anything , usually the first signs of spray paint people start screaming giga coaster yet full blown construction is going on here and nothing . Where could this park possibly be Alaska? even then I believe there would be a TPR memeber to report this even in Alaska lol

  4. I can't wait to see this thing in full speed test, I doubt a park here in the US would ever spend the money on something like this or even have the real estate for it. That Ferrari car train is sexy as hell, the sand is going to be very bad on it. I also see in some of those pics the sand is already attacking the track making it look alittle rusty.

I wonder how is intamin addressing the wheels and the sand, seams like with the speed and sand it would be like running on sand paper or a sand blaster grinding them down.

It's a dream but I'd love to visit this place, it looks amazing .

  5. I think it would be funny and awesome if SF/SFMM snatched up that 400 footer Funtime says it was working on for CP, to one up Knotts

I too was wondering how the ride was going to create airtime/weightlessness, I've never been on a Starflyer but I've never read about anyone saying they felt airtime or weightless on one either. I can't wait to Ride this Windseeker to see what trick it has up it's sleeve to produce airtime

  6. I'm thinking it will be a star flyer type ride for 2011 in place of the old parachutes tower and the coaster I keep hearing is for 2012. So Far 2012 is starting to look like a great year Knotts/SFMM both rumored to get big coasters, Disneys Carsland, Hersheys 212 foot hyper, BGT massive launched coaster etc.

Well if Rumors are correct 2012 will be the year for Knotts regular sitdown chain lift full circut *BIG STEEL* coaster

  7. What is Project 18?

    18th coaster at SFMM 2012

So it's taken 13 years for them to finally make S:TE the extreme ride it's billed to be...cool, b/c without it the ride was just sitting up there dying Imo. Even if it's just one side that's better then what the ride is now imo. I'm sure everyone who's rode S:TE has thought about what if the car was facing the other way and how sick that drop would be. This will bring some much need life to what once was just a ride with a lot of bark with a nibble of a bite.

Now since this seam like it happening in to different places who's idea was this? Did Intamin convince these parks to do this upgrade? Here I was thinking SF/SFMM was the ones mainly behind this transformation and that S:TE was going to be somewhat orginal in that it would be the only one of it's type with backwards cars. Oh well it's still going to be awesome lauching out backwards and falling face first 400 feet

  8. Build one at Six Flags Magic Mountain and start the Intamin frenzy for Elissa!

Andrew "No but seriously SFMM!" Iorio

I there is no space and they are going to have 17 roller coasters by 2011. They would not drop $15,000,000 just to beat Cedar Point for the most roller coasters, they need to work on their kiddie coasters more.

There is plenty of space at SFMM for what ever the park wants to build.

I agree Megalites should be like the Batman Clone of coasters every park should have one lol

  9. I don't see why people think a backwards launch would be instant, it would most likely be a gradual build up of speed, even more so then the launch now. With a new LIM/LSM launch system they could get the car going then hit it full blast to get it up the tower, this would avoid the slaming into the restrainst problem that would come from a standing still launch.

I'm thinking S:TE will just get an upgraded launch system and a refreshed Superman statue put back on the tower plus the kiddy coaster for the 50th aniversay

  10. No that was a piece of Chang, SFMM will have the worlds only dueling, racing, and spooning, Stand up coasters in the world for 2011

I don't think it's anything though ride pieces at SFMM would of been showed up on the net or on TPR by now I would think.

Also I was thinking would turning the cars around on S:TE delay SFMM ever more from getting a traditional Drop tower, since with the cars turned around on it would provide a face first vertical drop from what they'd claim of 415 feet. I'm wondering if they would have the mind set of We'd have to build a Drop tower of at least 450+ feet or more to make it more interesting the a reversed launched S:TE so why even bother.

Anyways what ever SFMM does for 2011 or 2012 I hope it involves something launched or something Giga but definitely INTAMIN

  11. Imo something Big coming to Superman has nothing to do with the the ride it's self, I believe something big is a hint referring to Superman's new neighbor posibly Bizzaro. They have stated they want to pull crowds from X, They have stated they are working with Intamin what better way to pull crowds then with something big and fast. Also installing something new on top of the mountain would be a nice distraction while they dismantle S:TE in the future, it's a money hog, low capcity, and a maintence nightmare it's doom is inevitable IMO.

They also reported to the LA Times that there would be a new coaster and they were taking back the most coasters crown I know things change but I would like to believe that those plans are still active, They are saving alot of money with all the cutbacks, ride rebirths and relocations, I would hope it's because they want to keep the company afloat and give atleast one of it's star parks a big shiny new ride for the chains 50th anniversary. Most everyone is going to think Chang or what ever they call it is a brand new coaster and maybe even the Giant, I doubt anyone is going to believe S:TE is a brand new ride even with a repaint and cars turned around it's pointless IMO.

  12. Hmm closing that much of the mountain down may be the start of the 2011 addition, there is really no point for guest to be past laughing dragon with Supes down I've just never known them to block off that much area for a ride rehab. Maybe laughing dragon will become the station for a new coaster. Dreaming here but could you imagine coming down the 5 and seeing a lift hill like I305s sitting on top of the mountain

    Anyways back to reality

I'd love to see a non inverting Premier launch coaster nothing but airtime crazy banked turns and sick transitions, It would make the most sense for the park IMO they need a thrilling launch coaster with an amazing layout.

  13. Wow I am in total shock My prayers are with the Koch family, Pat I'm dropping tears with you, we will all miss this wonderful man that brought happiness to so many people. I feel as sad if this was one of my own family members this is horrible news to wake up too. I would of never in a million years thought Will was sick this is just crazy and shows just how precious this thing called life is.

I just can't believe this I'm still waiting for this to be some sick mean joke
