Just Dreaming here but...
I was thinking what would be the cheapest way to get the tallest, fastest coaster on the planet, yet does a little more then TTD/ Kingda Ka while not needing the space of Formula Rossa. So I give you a pretty simple layout that packs a hell of a punch This Coaster would break 3 World Records for Height at 528 feet tall, Speed at 155 MPH launch and being the only coaster to ever hit over 100 mph 3 times during it's course at 155, 110, and 101mph
I imagine a pre-show before the launch and at the end of the ride on the high speed brake run would be like flying into a tunnel with fog, fire, lighting, sound effects to end the ride.

^ well who's fault would it be?
I mean yeah a container could of feel off the boat lol or left or lost on the dock, or maybe sent to the wrong destination but these all seam highly unlikely.
Yet if there's is truth to the comment posted that the parts have been Manufactured and shipped that seams like a complete screw up on Intamin part imo.
Sarcastic? Well okay.
Dude give it a rest
Thanks for that update Top Thrill Dragster

Well after seeing that concept art maybe Zierer is ready to hang with the big boys in the industry, that looks really nice I've went from disappointed a little to unsure about Zierer to hmm that looks cool and very interesting. This just might shape up to be something really awesome.
-
^umm your taking this completely overboard and my post was more sarcastic then me being all OMFG Intamin sucks they lost the parts to the ride.
Also how do you lose track pieces to a Rollercoaster it's not like it's something someone can just put in their pocket and walk away with.
"I mean they could have just said "screw it, you have to wait two or three months we are in no hurry", but obviously they are completely not like that."
Umm no they could not they are under contract and have been paid millions of dollars to provide a product
Again I know ShhhT happens and that's why my post was sarcastic
If you built a ride for a park and the ride didn't work out as planned (S:TE) and the park say's I'm not working with that company again, years go by and the parks decides to give you/the company another chance and work with them to install another ride. Yet the ride shows up with parts missing, you have spent million of dollars on this ride and regardless if it's Intamin's fault or not who would you blame and how does that look? It looks bad period. Especially to a park that was already iffy on working with you again in the first place.
I'm not bashing Intamin I idolize them check out the TPR exchange all of my coasters are based off Intamin except one. Even with the delays, problems, downtime some Intamin rides have I still love their rides.

I am agreeing with you guys that it's possible to get to SFMM in less than or about 2 hours
I also agree with Sidra those AAA numbers don't seam right at all unless your driving a big truck or SUV, my sister also has a 1999 Camry, I have a 2003 ford focus SVT and it's never cost either one of us that much in gas for a trip to SFMM
-
WTF are you driving the Batmobile or Wonder Womans Invisible Jet J/k
it's possible to get to SFMM from San Diego in 2 hours and from Riverside in less than 2 but this isn't guaranteed.
Yeah it's 30 bucks round trip but if you look at AAA driving cost calculator it says the cost of the 88 mile drive from Riverside to SFMM is about $95.22 cents using 54.1 cents per mile driving a small sedan these are based off of 2010 numbers.
You welcome Buckaroo

I don't know what freeways your driving on b/c even on a Sunday it's going to take longer then 60 mins to get from Riverside to LA the 60 Fwy and the 91 has to be the worst roads on the planet when it comes to traffic and the closer to LA you get they get worse.
I've driven to SFMM on a Sunday and seamed to take closer to 2 hours then 60 mins all b/c of the horrible traffic this state has and the the complete idiots behind the wheel.

I think Kasi was terrified of that huge chin Jay Leno is sporting lol I've only heard Kasi making those chirp noises but the growling it was doing with Jay lets you know that thing is a wild animal lol it's still the most adorable thing and I want one
-
What world first elements? b/c the vertical dropping track section has already been done by Intamin and thri13teen
I'd also like to know what's a gimble?
-
I live in Riverside and you can catch the metro link from the Riverside downtown station to LA Union Station and from LA Union Station to SFMM I've done it plenty of times and it's not bad the only down side is you have to leave the park early to make the train back to Riverside.
You can catch the #703 train at 6:29 am and get to LA Union station at 8:05 am then you catch the #281 from Union station at 8:10 am and be in Santa Clarita at 9:14 am from there you take a short ride on a dedicated bus line that takes you straight to SFMM drops you off right by X2
The last train to Riverside leaves LA Union station at 6:35 pm so you have to be back at the Santa Clarita Station at 5:10 pm

Are you Fing serious I thought the concrete and re-bar had already been set and they were just waiting for it to cure to start erecting the tower. It is taking forever to get this ride up, and all the Windseekers in general seam to be taking a long time, heck SFOG built a whole coaster and has it up and testing readying to open and these Windseekers the ones that are fully constructed are barely testing.
I'm wondering if CF are wishing they went with Funtime and the Starflyers

Damn it Intamin you were suppose to make a great impression with SFMM to hopefully create a good working relationship since the last time you where in the park building S:TE, shipping rides with missing parts is not a good deal lol. We want more Intamins in the park in the future but if your sending rides with parts missing and delaying construction/openings that might not happen come on guys you can do better then this your a World renowned coaster manufacturer for goodness sake.
I truly hope this is just a rumor b/c if you guys can't get a coaster a small as GL right then how can you be trusted to build something as major as that gigacoaster I'm praying SFMM gets one day
-
So does this mean Intamin don't hold a patent on the vertical dropping track section?
It seams like BGW is taking a huge risk letting Zierer manufacture this coaster they have no history with multiple launches or vertical dropping track sections. What's next Zamperla is going to build a Gigacoaster? I know it's not impossible for either of these companies to build a multi launched or a giga it just seams like such a huge jump from their usual products.
So far I do like everything I'm seeing about this new coaster, I'm a little unsure of Zierer but if BGW is willing to give them a chance I don't see why I can't give them a one to. It's not like I'm the one spending millions of dollars on this ride lol
-
^I know that was my lame attempt at making a joke lol

If this coaster is anywhere near as good as Goliath at Walabi World with 151 foot drop I'd be in A huge drop doesn't mean great coaster look at Goliath SFMM with it's 255 foot drop
I love this game Hershey is playing making everyone think this coaster will be an Intamin, when I just heard the coaster is really going to be made by Zierer J/K
After looking at the posted layout maybe were looking at a simi-clone of Expedition Ge Force instead of overbanked turns it going to have the low to the ground turns like I305, if this is what is planned I don't see how it can be anything other then an awesome ride even if it's not 10,000 feet long.
-
Thanks for the update I've been wondering what was going on with this amazing looking coaster. Judging from your last pic that seams like a very short launch, this thing must be launching with the power of Dondapa
-
I believe about 7 million dollars
Also SFMM has posted 2 new pics of GL construction to their Facebook they're working their way up and have added more track.
-
Well since it's true this is for me my first disappointment of 2012 this is just my opinion
-
I'm sure if Six Flags is wiling to come up with the cash it can be done, they've already got two towers up on the mountain one that's been standing since the 70's. I'm sure with today's engineering building a drop ride up there wouldn't be that challenging.
-
Zierer yeah that's very interesting
I also just went to Zierer site their coasters look a little carnival ish imo the trains are down right hideous imo not something I'd expect to see in a Busch park. Maybe they'll surprise us but from what I'm seeing on that site I don't see how BGW is going to get anything that looks as good as Cheetah or Manta SWC.
