  1. I'm with you there! I don't understand the silly complaining about this alleged ride name.
  2. WOW, that was an awesome story!
  3. At Knott's don't forget the painted Pony Express brakes, and then there is this eerie video... Xcelerator Cable Snap
  4. In 1989, the idiot boy who jumped out of the log at the bottom of the big lift, was pinned underneath the next log, and drowned on Logger's Run at CGA all because his idiot friends dared him to...some friends. In years prior, there were the two incidents on Willard's Whizzer, also at CGA, one of which resulted in a boy's death which ultimately caused the ride to be removed. Then there is the "mysterious" death of the mentally challenged person that fell out of Drop Zone. But I think the most famous or talked about accident would be the little girl on the drop ride.
  5. I'm trying to make it but have to work out something with work.
  6. ^Oh good, it must have been a minor thing then.
  7. Goliath has been cursed with lift issues since it opened. As reported on here (somewhere in the 1900+ pages of this thread), a few years ago the lift chain sprocket at the top of the lift completely broke into pieces, causing it to be down for awhile. I went to the park that year and remember being bummed because I could not ride it.
  8. Isn't Deja Vu still running? It was on my last visit to MM last August. Yes it is, maybe they meant Psyclone.
  9. It is the nature of all things mechanical to breakdown at the most inopportune time, or when you least expect it. Stuff happens, it sucks, but nothing anybody can do about it. Although I'm curious to know what happened to Goliath if it is down, it would be a horrible coincidence if the lift motor went out on this ride too.
  10. Why would B&M sign a contract like that, limiting them from selling/building that type of ride and potentially losing out on MILLIONS of dollars of revenue? Does not sound like something that a company that wants to make money, a lot of it, would do. It is more likely that the reason there have been no more Dive Machines built here (yet) is simply that no one else wants one.
  11. Wait a minute, is this "Dinosaurs Alive" thing the same attraction that caught on fire at Kings Island recently? KI discussion thread Article Link Article
  12. ^LOL, sooner or later somebody was going to say it, Intamin+water=Aquatrax. Unless its some flume thing or something or maybe they have developed their own water spraying train like the B&M dive machines.....funny.
  13. Eventhough it sounds funny coming in the station stuck upside down, is this turning into a pattern or is it because its stilll very new and has to be broken in more. When I ride it next month I hope I come into the station upside down.....sounds like fun!
  14. The difference being when X went down it was a blown lift motor GEARBOX which had to be specially made for that ride, which made it take a long time. If Tatsu just has a blown lift MOTOR only, it probably won't be down anywhere near as long as X was.
  15. With the forces and vibrations that audio equipment has to go through every time the trains cycle, its amazing it lasted at all, that must be some pretty heavy duty stuff....I'd like to have that in my car!
  16. If they were going to go after originality and inversions, there's always the Intamin 12 inversion coaster, which there are none of anywhere else in the country.
  17. I agree. Floorless coasters can be just as much fun as anything else.
  18. Luckily, B&M hasn't made a Floorless Coaster in years so I think we're good. Maybe we'll get a B&M Hyper since Cedar Point is known for its BIG coasters Just because they haven't made one in years means nothing, they might be working on one or two right now....who knows. And really, are floorless coasters so terrible that if that is what they put in it would offend you that much? Wow, that's a shame. That is the next logical step in that design and I bet it would crap all over X2. What will be interesting to see is how they design the seat rotation. Will it be free rotation like a Zacspin or will it be controlled rotation like X2?
  19. And the COMPLETELY NEW TRAINS made absolutely no difference at all?
  20. Exactly. Exactly. There is no reason at this point to think nothing will happen, its only July!
