  1. So if this stays on track, then this could be the "gateway coaster", the one that starts coasters to be built here once again...lol I think it's interesting that they also mention the noise concerns by the neighbors, which makes me think the coaster will (most likely) go around the tower right next to them. Otherwise, if it was (possibly) going in the other location then why would they mention that? You know, we all have waited this long, one more season isn't going to kill us. It sucks waiting more but it will be here before we know know it.
  2. ^Yeah I would not say guaranteed either, I think its one of those things that keeps that option open if they choose to do it.
  3. The Tidal Wave spot would be the perfect location for the launch track of some kind of awesome Intamin launch coaster, something that could span a big area going over and under things....awesome!
  4. ^Yeah I just hope that now there really is something good planned for the Invertigo spot and not something lame, and hopefully some kind of coaster for the very near future.
  5. If I remember correctly, Stealth was removed for two basic reasons... 1. It was in the way of the waterpark that was planned 2. It was never meant to be a permanent attraction. Great America was a test park for Vekoma, a park they could test the prototype of the Flying Dutchman and as such the land the coaster sat on was leased from Great America by Vekoma, there never really were any "maintenance nightmares" any more than would be expected with any first of its kind ride. So when the waterpark idea came along the park basically ended the lease which meant the coaster had to go so they could build it. That's what I remember about it anyway and never once was it referred to as a maintenance nightmare.
  6. The reason for taking Stealth out was it became a maintenance nightmare and was causing the park to use more money then they should have due to it being a prototype ride. So they took it out to expand the park and make Boomerang Bay which is even more popular. Its is something the whole family can enjoy. The reason the took Invertigo out because of bad press and that maybe Cedar Fair does have some plans for the park to put in a new attraction that could benefit the park more than Invertigo did. *Sorry for the double post* Bad press? If that were true then CF should have gotten rid of Xcelerator at Knott's when the launch cable broke sending pieces of the metal cable flying and injuring people. The incident on Invertigo did not cause injuries..so bad press does not make sense. If this ride was such a maintenance nightmare at this park, why would they relocate it to another park in the chain only for it to be a maintenance nightmare there too....or is it going to magically transform into a ride that never breaks down while its on the trucks in pieces on the way to that park? This does not make sense either. Clearly, besides "future plans" for that spot, there are other reasons we may never know about why Invertigo was removed.
  7. I forgot to mention, I forced my head to stay against the headrest for the entire ride and it was the most enjoyable ride I have ever had on both versions of X.....and I was on the outside! Yeah I got tossed around but my head did not bang at all, it was awesome!
  8. At the park today there was no audio on X2, and take it for what its worth, but a ride op said they were thinking about getting rid of the audio because it required a lot of maintenence. Also, I noticed dispatch clocks in the stations of X2 and Tatsu, apparently they have 45 seconds to dispatch a train on X2 and a minute and a half on Tatsu. They seemed to be dispatching pretty much on time.
  9. Dude, I know what you mean. Tatsu was getting MCBRed bad the other day, and don't even get me started about the trims on X2!!! Yeah on both rides they hit pretty hard now.
  10. ^Batman with MCBR trims, stories of Goliath barely being trimmed.....what the hell is going on?...lol
  11. Batman does not have a MCBR the last time I checked. I remember riding Goliath not long after it opened, the train was barely stopping on the MCBR.
  12. So this is an ongoing thing then, ok, it made for an interesting ride creeping off that brakerun but still almost grayed out on the helix of death...it was still really fun just thought the stopping was unusual.
  13. So today I noticed something about Goliath. I know normally the trims on the MCBR are pretty heavy but usually doesn't completely stop the train there. Well today, I saw several times, including the ride cycle I was on, that the train was completely stopping on the MCBR and being held there for almost ten seconds! Is something going on with this? Why would it need to completely stop and hold the train there for ten seconds, eventhough it had nothing to do with blocking as the other train was in the station being loaded. I found this to be really strange and it was not happening every cycle, but it was doing it with both trains no matter where the other tain was and even with it in the station. Is there a reason it needs to frequently stop and hold the train on the MCBR or is something strange going on?
  14. I did not stop on the brakes but saw it do that a few times while I was in line. I had some room too and got tossed around a little, my shoulders are a little sore but not too bad.
  15. Finally, been waiting for this, I will be there this week and can't wait to ride GL! Its gonna be so much fun!
  16. I think people forget sometimes or just don't realize that waiting for parts, having other things come up or other projects as you point out does affect rehab schedules...its not like rehabbing is the only thing ever going on at the park.
  17. It might have just been down for maintenance or lack of staffing to operate it.
  18. I always thought the Giant Dipper had a cool smell to it.
  19. As long as all the rides I want to go on are open next week, I will be happy.
  20. As their "future attraction" that would fit in the Inverti-garden.
