Ocean's 13 8/10 By far the best '3' sequel this year. Not too much chit-chat like Pirates 3, doesn't use too much VSX to impress you like Spider-Man 3 and the jokes are much funnier than Shrek 3. You have to see the way they steal the money. It's SO COOL!!

Pirates really sinks itself faster than everybody thought. Since Monday until Wednesday, the movie has been knocked down by the pregnancy comedy Knocked Up. Having the fact that it was beaten by "10% of itself", Pirates' ability to reach $300m is right now questionable.

While the Pirates seems to have a 'flop' in USA, it does seem better overseas. The second weekend, Pirates only offs 46% into a stunning $105.4m compared to Spider-Man's 60% drop 3 weeks ago. The strongest hold is from Japan which the film only dropped 4% from the first weekend for a total $35.5m. In UK, the film slipped 49% only, for totaling of $57m, far faster than Spider-Man 3. Not only that, the film broke a record in India as "third biggest opening". Most of the foreign ($260m) is from Europe. The overseas tally is right now $409m, making its worldwide tally into $625.3m Meanwhile Shrek 3 added $4m from 9 markets. Seemed it's not as big as Pirates 3 overseas, but still it holds a lot of records for animation, like biggest opening for animation at $1.2m in Singapore and $575K in Malaysia. In the next 2 weekend, Shrek 3 will compete with mighty Pirates as it opens in the key markets. Spider-Man 3 has dramatically ended most of its markets. Only adding $11.8m, this movie won't stay longer anymore especially after Shrek 3 opens. With Ocean's 13 coming this weekend, and Fantastic 4 next weekend, will Pirates be able to hold the crown from the movies? We'll watch!!

What I feared the most is my own hometown coaster, Halilintar. Lack of inspection, more than 20 years old. It's just very scary especially when you take the lift hill, it sounds very 'clack-clack-clack' loudly, like I've never heard it before. The scarier thing even happened when you hit the brake and then there's this kind of fire shows up beside peoples' seats. Scary... Not safe enough...

I watched Spider-Man in 4K Digital today. 8/10 The image was extremely sharp and clear, not like the 1K movie, where you still can see some spots around the screen. In 4K, it's very clean, just like when you're watching HD-TV. It gives you better viewing and experience. Just so different. Try it when you have a chance.

So, the 2nd weekend for Pirates 3 is quite disappointing compared to the second movie. It tumbled more than 60% to $43m. Compared to the last movie's $60m-above, there's no way this movie will catch up with the second one, but there's still a chance surpassing the first movie to gross more than $100m. The chance for Pirates 3 to be 'still big' is right now up to the overseas box office performance. The bad thing is in just few days Shrek 3 will start its massive overseas release. Will Pirates be able to take the pressure? As a surprise, Knocked Up takes the second spot. So far, this movie has the best review for this summer's movie along with the Waitress. With more than $29m, it's sure that it will surpass the previous director's movie, The 40-year-old Virgin. Shrek 3 slipped again to closely 50% into $26m, a great achievement for an animation movie. Now, the competition between Pirates 3 and Shrek 3 is on to take the second place in 'The Seasons of 3'. Start at June 6, Shrek 3 will begin the big release overseas. Spider-Man 3 has lost most of its audience in just 4 weeks. With only $7.5m, it sure has reached its limit in box office performance. Soon in just about another 4 weeks, the performance will be about under $1m. Next week, another blockbuster is opened. Ocean's 13 will hit more than 3,400 theaters across the country. Could this be the end of Pirates taking the crown of the weekends? What do you guys think?

Just saw Pirates 3. 8/10 The VSX is absolutely the best so far in 2007, beating the Spiderman 3. The maelstrom is just absolutely amazing and made me speechless. BUT there were too many conversations and the duration was too long. The acting is quite nice. I was especially impressed by Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Bill Nighy as Davy Jones and Naomie Harris as Tia Dalma. They were really good and I think they have a chance to be Oscar-nominated. Johnny Depp? No I don't think so. He's actually very good, yes, but considering he already had one nomination from the first movie, I don't think he will be nominated again, just like Ian McKellen did in Lord of the Rings.
