Rooftop Tokyo Halfpipe coaster
The Doctor replied to The Doctor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ If they really have no plan on opening it, why not trying to sell it to another park? If they really just want it gone but don't want to spend the cash taking it down, I can't see why they couldn't get another park to pay for the permits and moving it. I would imagine that to cost less then building a new ride from scratch. Also thanks for answering robb, it really bugged me on my trip this year, and my tour guide new seemingly nothing about it. -
Rooftop Tokyo Halfpipe coaster

When I was in Tokyo last summer I caught a glimpse of this on a bus tour I was on. I was shocked to see a coaster I had not come across in my trip research. Only got around to trying to look it up now and found this entry on wiki. "In 2005, Don Quijote began building a 'half-pipe' roller coaster on the roof of its eight story Roppongi store. Roppongi is a heavily populated area in the core of Tokyo, and many residents and businesses were upset with the idea of having a roller coaster in their neighborhood because of the spectacle, noise and crowds it will likely create. The project was completed in 2006 but due to increasing pressure from concerned groups in the area it has never been operated. As of 2009, the structure still exists. Don Quijote has not announced what future plans they have for it." Anyone know anything more about it? Has it even ever been run for testing? I would love if they opened it just once for some special coaster enthusiast event or something along those lines. -
this has probably been answered but I did not feel like digging through the 14 pages for the answer In the first page you say you worked for a studio that is now defunct. Based on my understanding grey matter got merged into treyarch for the most part. So my question is what studio do you work for now? treyarch? activision? oh and I just want to say I am pretty sure I read that cod IGN interview back in the day when i had no idea who you were

current shows top 5 Doctor Who Lost Mad Men Dexter House

am i the only one that did not like this. If the show shared non of the lost cast it would be cool to lightly combine the universes, but as that is not the case it seemed weird tying it into the lostverse even lightly.

Chang isn't headed to the Windy City. I hope your right but what's your source on this? Also in general is anyone really disappointed by SFGAM in last few years. No new major coasters even though other SF parks get them such as St.Louis Major coasters taken down instead of getting fixed Added another kiddie area despite already having two Now another year with nothing but a parade, and the only coaster rumored is a used stand up. It's at the point I might not get a season pass next year and that saddens me

Worst Theme Park Experience
The Doctor replied to deathbydinn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was in new york for a few days. Got on a bus with a freind to Great Adventure. Was raining but they let us pay full price to get in. Rode skull mountain and dark knight a few times for the rain to stop. Headed over to El Toro as we saw it running. Waited in a small line as it was the only big coaster running. As we got to the front they gave a message the park would be closing for the day due to the weather. We were next in line, but they refused to let us ride, and kicked us out of park. Over 3 hours on a bus and close to 100$ spent for 2 Dark Knights and 2 Skull mountains made it by far the worst experience for me. -
I am really starting to think I am the only one that really liked Thunder Dolphin. In retrospect though if had just been a normal ride in the states and not one flying over a tokyo mall with cosplayers down below it would have seemed allot less impressive to me.
