by total benevolence and providence my high school band trip went to SFSL on Boss's opening day, which was a bit earlier than they predicted 4-26 is my recollection, but mr freeze was closed, i have never been on it it was closed all the times i went to six flags over texas, which might 2 is the spinning coaster nice?

I'll second that!!! i'll third that, and fourth it, and ...! plus what kind of lines can you possibly have at sea world? i went on it a good 4 times in a row in that seat ! and i didn't have to get off great white until i had a headache, except sometimes i had to get out of the front b/c people were queued for it what is lovely about the morgans is the lapbars are giant and huge and cumbersome so they leave tons of safe ejection room.

really , how do you get air on the hill? i only ever felt it once, do you leave your lapbar loose ? where do you sit? hmmm, Goliath is a great ride even with relatively little or no airtime, and i love the helix. *tries to compare* , I've been on el toro, nitro, steel eel, millienium force, and titan also and MF didn't seem to have any air at all? maybe on first drop. and responding to someone else, Titan was interesting because in the front seat i got a LOT of airtime cresting the 2nd hill, right before it turns, i have not felt that on Goliath but i'm not sure if i've been on Goliath's front seat. i don't find Titan's first helix very interesting, though. for my airtime experiences - 1. el toro - ghostrider

i have been on the belmont park coaster twice there was nothing interesting or notable about it to me Ghostrider is, however, amazing and perfect in the backseat, Psyclone was terrible, parts of it are and were almost good, but not quite, because of trims have not been on the norther california rides.

Steel Eel in the backseat is a definite contender for "Best Air Time Ever!" I do not know why I did not list it as being my favorite coaster, I think I loved the air so much, but wished for some helixes too, because I think I went on this before Goliath at MM was made, and Goliath at MM just blew me away and left me bewildered and in awe, which Steel Eel did on every every single drop except for the somewhat painful bunny hills, but, hmmm... i've been on magnum too, i didn't like it so much for whatever reasons. Mamba seemed to only be good because of first drop and the second hill, but i only got air on the second hill in the front seat. this is really strange to me, i was so terrified of Goliath and its first drop, and not steel eel, both were ridden during the year 2000

Where did the rush go?some sort of coaster dude replied to skaunit's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! i lost the spinning stomach feeling fairly quickly though i might still get it a little, i mainly ride coasters because i can, and accept that they are usually not terrifying to me, however el toros drops were incredible launches certainly do that for me!

To be serious for a moment I think you have to be careful about saying she needs treatment. The situation does appear distressing - I'd say she needs support, assistance and understanding. Saying she needs treatment sounds like anyone from the 'norm' needs treatment - it's the kind of thing you hear people say about homosexuals - they need TREATMENT. I remember seeing a documentary about two guys who had a very serious relationship with their cars and I do mean extremely serious in a sexual context - however they weren't hurting or impacting their life styles on others so although you wouldn't describe it as 'normal' behaviour if we were all 'normal' life would be a very linear and sad place. What concerns me most about the documentary is the potential media exploitation of such an individual which could become very damaging. good points, there is no reason to close your mind and heart to anyone, at best you can just ignore them, otherwise you become some sort of zealot cartman crusader.

El Toro Back or Front?some sort of coaster dude replied to cooliocody12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Yes! Praise be to El Toro. .... my first ride in the very back of El Toro ever was brutal in roughness, however the second time i was one row up from the back, still in the last car, and it was much smoother, i cannot conceive of Nitro being rough at all, let alone "rougher than El toro" sure it bumps and shakes but it doesn't cause a beating the way a wooden coaster usually will and does

It's a lot easier said than done. There are limits, parks don't have unlimited resources and money. Tatsu: Keep in mind that Tatsu was $21 million as it is. Any longer and we're talking about a coaster that only Disney or Universal could afford. Probably a $30+ million coaster. Goliath: A lot of rides are slowed down on purpose for maintenance reasons. The faster a ride goes, the more likely things such as welds, bolts, etc. are going to come loose, wheels wear down faster, track needs to be inspected more, etc. And thus, the park has to spend more money to upkeep these rides. Just simply slowing a ride down can solve a ton of future problems waiting to happen. this park can build a new coaster every year, though, surely for instance, not building scream, would give them $40 million (?) to work on with a really really really really good coaster? I'd rather see them create themselves as being able to have made Tatsu the most incredible ride ever, going through tunnels along the mountain, doing amazing things, than having built it the way it is, very wonderful (much better than superman ultimate flight) and incredibly short. the same with Goliath, 2-3-4 airtime hills, the super helix still there, would make this the best hyper coaster ever, if they make the first drop have airtime. if you can't afford to keep your rides amazing, why build them? its a suicidal park plan. Goliath was so much better when it had air on the first drop! I'm sure the vast majority of the GP thinks Goliath and Tatsu are world-class coasters, and that's all that matters considering they are the ones that spend most of the money, not coaster enthusiasts. Why build a $40 million coaster that caters to a select handful of enthusiasts, when you can build a $10-$20 million coaster that the GP will think is just as good and eat right up? Also, keep in mind that they don't notice the things we do about coasters and rides, such as Goliath slowing down over the years, Tatsu being a tad bit short, etc. For most people, their local park is the only park they go to (not counting Disney and Universal). because any operation that is run only for money falls to pieces in a very slow death look at how incredible Ghostrider is (to me at least ! ) that's better th an all and everything at the mountain. besides you're one of the most "extreme" parks in the world, you're going to cut corners and build something less than perfect, when you can spend $20 million a YEAR (often) adding ride after ride? why not build the absolute best you can? all this money talk is absurd but yes Goliath and Tatsu are "world class" (and i love them both, but only Tatsu's pretzel roll is particularly stellar) even if the GP seem to not be as in the know, they can still tell the difference between something tremendously wonderful, and something good, and it is the gp that comes back year after year, don't exploit their ignorance, build for the sake of building what is perfect, is this not how disney succeeded? or islands of adventure? that's an incredible park even though it has only 2 coasters, they are brilliant! and this matters, this isn't Krusty-Land.

My only problem with the Intamin OTSRs is they bash my head pretty bad and it makes for an uncomfortable ride. I've tried them in the front, back, and it never fails. I'm only 5'7" so I know taller people won't have this problem, but unless Intamin suddenly found a way to make their transitions much smoother then I'm thinking it's going to be a head banger for me. Like someone else said, look what a difference it made once they removed from harnesses on FOF as far as ride improvement. Other than that, I think it looks great and I think the layout is much improved over MF. I love the turn following the first drop and if this ride has low lighting at night then it could be insane. yes, I hated Poltergeist until I rode it with lapbars, as for this, if lots of people complain about shoulder restraints then would the complaining undo the other complaints, and have them remove them and add lapbars? honestly the ride looks very wonderful to me as it is, the second airtime hill is significantly smaller than the first drop and it may produce tremendous ejector air?

I just went to great adventure and i want to join in on this very long conversation, if I may : Bizarro was substantially more agreeable and amusing than Scream! has ever been for me, HOWEVER, Bizarros onride audio was absolutely ludicrous and ridiculous. They should have played MUSIC! Who wants to hear people yelling about things ? Yes it raises anxiety, but in an unkind way. Some good techno would have made things a lot better. Thinking about this discussion, Scream! and Riddler seem very similar, very large rides with many inversions. So perhaps the park can add safely another hyper coaster, making it substantially different than Goliath, since it did not seem to think that adding Scream! would conflict with the similar, albeit it NOT layout of Riddler. ( many people think, oh loops, whats the difference? ) Magic Mountain needs to clear some things up, Nitro and El Toro would most definitely beat Goliath and (I assume) Terminator any day of the week. As wonderful as Goliath is, and I do fancy its helix and would choose to ride it right now for that reason vs Nitro, the parks next coaster needs to truly shatter everything we have conceived of. it needs to be LONG, it needs to be intense, it needs to be spectacular, and it must not be a clone. I do vote for a hyper coaster with tremendous airtime, personally. Take for instance Tatsu, this is a wonderful wonderful ride, and yet it is far too short. So much more innovation with the terrain could have been done. Some people seem to be complacent with stamping roller coasters here and there just for the sake of it, although the rides are good, sometimes they are missing a certain amount of quality. For instance, how much more amazing Goliath could be with one or two intense airtime hills, and the helix! Or if they KEPT THE LIFT HILL GOING FAST AT THE TOP FOR EJECTOR AIR like it once somewhat had.
