  1. ^You can probably assume that if a video about something concerning roller coasters, especially something big like the Timberliners, is 18 months old, it's probably been posted here. We have video of people riding in Timberliners on Voyage if you go back a few pages.
  2. Screamscape reported today that it is likely going to be re-themed. Pretty disappointing if you ask me.
  3. Dave, any idea if there have been any preliminary complaints or problems with sand? That was always my one concern with this ride. Even with goggles on, sand to the skin at 150 mph might not feel that great. Great TR!
  4. I wonder if I can get Maurer Sohne to make some wheels like that for my car.
  5. I thought it was very evident a long time ago that the trims were there. Did nobody look at the photos of it before the POV was released?
  6. ^DBH was made by Coaster Works, Inc., not Summers/Dinn.
  7. Prince Desmond was making fun of the plan to save Big Dipper, not Geauga Lake.
  8. ^When you sign up at the GL site, do you get a free tin foil hat, or is there a required post count talking about the evil CF conspiracy before you get one?
  9. 425 foot inverted accelerator coaster???? 650 foot wall????? SERIOUSLY????????????? I want whatever these people and the Big Dipper chick have been smoking.
  10. ^Rode it last year, may never ride it again. I wouldn't be surprised if the chiropractic school in Atlanta does a case study on people who rode that coaster. That answer your question?
  11. I think it's a combination of engineering, park maintenance, and trains. Summers/Dinn was sorta like Arrow, just ahead of their time. They built overly aggressive coasters before the ability was there to keep them in good shape. I'd like to think that if a lot of their rides were built now, they would probably hold up better over time. Also, PTCs destroy track, and if a park isn't on top of their maintenance, and I mean REALLY on top of it, it's going to get irreversibly ugly in a hurry (hello Knott's). None of the GCIs that have Millennium Flyers are in that bad of shape. Thunderhead is starting to get a little bad, but that's after 7 full seasons and it's a very aggressive coaster. Hades was built a year later and is by many accounts a terribly rough ride now. What's the difference? Trains and maintenance. I really think that PTC is going to end up being obsolete in 10-15 years.
  12. Her cat can join Mujabubukins on the front of the trains, one of them will be on each train!
  13. So when this fails, what are they going to do with the money that was donated?
  14. I guess they're just building an "old" new wooden roller coaster in Wisconsin. Wooden Warrior is the only new wooden coaster being built in the U.S. for the last two seasons. The only other ones being built are two rebuilds (Little Dipper and Zippin Pippin) and Flying Turns (only the Flying Spaghetti Monster knows when that will open).
  15. ^My thoughts exactly. Maybe I can insert some Metallica or System of a Down over that song instead......
  16. Here's a music video that was shot at the park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHBybmZ7SfM
  17. ^^Guy, I just want you to know that I laughed my donkey loving ass off at your post.
  18. Isn't it more of a California thing, where they say if the manual "recommends" no eyewear be worn, then that means you can't wear it at all? You can wear glasses with a strap on TTD.
  19. ^All the facebook pages I've seen for parks are full of wonderful GP-isms. It's cringe worthy on so many levels.
  20. From everything I've heard about how (not) well Mt. Olympus is run, I guess it's not a surprise they let their star attraction turn to poo in a matter of 5 years.
  21. ^What exactly was so bad about Hades this year? I've never ridden it, I just assume it to be just as aggressive as the other Gravity Group/CCI creations. Was it potholes? Shuffling? Jackhammering?
