  1. ^There are plenty of amusement parks that have no theme, hence why they are called amusement parks, and not theme parks.
  2. ^Had FIOS while I still lived in Virginia, unfortunately it isn't carried down here where I live in Orlando. Awesome service.
  3. The thing about beer sales in a park is that more often than not, it's so expensive that nobody wants to spend the amount of money it would take to get drunk. I'll enjoy a beer or two on occasion if I go to a Busch park or SWO, but I'd never get past the second because they cost too damn much (even with my Platinum Pass discount). I'd say the only time I would get even moderately buzzed at a park would be if I drank around the world at Epcot.
  4. They should have just handed out adult diapers at the Skyrush entrance and banked on people getting the sh*t scared out of them.
  5. ^Luminosity is such a stupid name! Why don't they call it Nighttime Light Show???
  6. ^I'll pour some Skittles out in remembrance of the clown train.
  7. ^Well that's good then. Lord knows SF has been cutting costs across the board the last couple years, at least they decided to keep what will probably be the best part about this ride intact.
  8. ^Funny, SFA rarely gets my money because I think the park sucks out loud. I don't even need a conspiracy to back that up.
  9. I know they haven't finished the theming on the train, but someone please tell me (because I don't feel like searching, sue me), are they going to still have all the theming on the ground for the train to have all those head/foot choppers? Because the ride loses at least half its appeal if they aren't going to go through with all the theming.
  10. Im 99.9% sure this has been covered several times before, but there will just be one queue for each row, just like any other normal coaster. You'll board normally just like any other coaster. And just like with any other coaster, there will be people who prefer the outside, and people who think it's "safer" to sit in the inside seats.
  11. The fact that they have nets up on either side of the first drop to prevent geese (not ducks) from flying across the track makes the ride a wee bit safer for riders these days.
  12. Imagine airtime while trying to relieve yourself.
  13. ^Cheetah Hunt had an employee ride night before it opened, but I don't believe it had a soft opening for regular guests.
  14. ^It wouldn't, the guy just has a Mount Everest sized hard on for B&M inverts apparently.
  15. I can't remember what my excitement level was last time there was an update on this ride (I think it was 12). It's up to about 15 now.
  16. ^It's a little more complicated than that. Trust me, we're not going to see Rampage operate ever again unless they reopen the doors to the amusements at AA.
  17. ^I don't think the crowds will be bad on a Monday, even if it is Spring Break.
  18. ^You haven't been to many parks other than SFGAd, have you?
  19. ^Typically it's the major coasters at each park, so put your thinking cap on and figure it out.
  20. This sums up why the system is a good thing. Locals have season passes to visit whenever they want on slow days, but people from out of town don't have the luxury of flexible scheduling. This eases the burden of doing the whole park in one day (something that's literally impossible to do at CP anywhere from mid June to early August). And for the ones concerned with "large groups of people clogging up the line," let me provide some simple math. Millennium Force holds 36 people. Even if group-ageddon walks up with 72 people and the operators let them all on at the same time, that's only two more trains you have to wait, or about 3 minutes. And if those same 72 people were in line in front of you, guess what? That's two more trains to wait, about 3 minutes! But that's never going to happen. It's always small handfuls of people that walk up with these passes, never "giant groups." Then they merge into the station and pick their row, leaving you anywhere from 12-17 rows to choose from, meaning you won't have to wait any longer than usual. Even at places like BGW, BGT, or SWO, where they have specific rows reserved for Quick Queue people, normal guests can fill in those rows if there are no Quick Queue holders waiting on them, therefore reducing the wait! I know the big butthurtness comes from people who either 1. don't want to spend the extra money or 2. can't spend the extra money, but if the issue is money, maybe you should find some cheaper hobbies. I'm not rich by any wild stretch of the imagination, and I think these systems are a godsend.
  21. ^No, but they get discounts on those passes, discounts on food/merchandise, free parking, free admission (obviously), and in some cases, free preferred parking. Businesses will take care of those who spend more money. The sooner you guys get that through your heads, the easier this will be to accept. Yeeeeeesh.
  22. ^I think it's a tomato to-mah-to kinda thing. Either way you pronounce it is correct, it's just your personal preference.
  23. There's your problem right there. In all the parks I've been to, the only one that couldn't handle their upcharge skip the line system was La Ronde, and that's literally the worst operational park I've ever been to. That's almost every Six Flags, both Busch parks and SWO, Dollywood, and both Universal parks. They all run their systems beautifully. So you're saying a business wants people who will spend more money? Say it ain't so!
  24. Not exactly, all it's gonna do is make it even harder for non users to even get to the line....the rides are being reconfigured with an additional fastlane queue that will supposedly merge with the main queue but that main queue will be forced to move slower because the ops are probably required to allow a certain number of FL users to merge per cycle or per line movement (which ever comes first)and then what happens when the FL queue fills up faster than it can be merged? Edit:Another problem with the system arises & that stems from the unlimited use policy,in theory FL users could very well board the ride, ride it,exit & jump right back in the fastlane queue before the main queue has a chance to even move which would in effect freeze the regular line. If all those people getting in the Fast Lane line get in line at the regular queue, then you have a longer wait anyway. The amount of people getting in line is the same regardless. Can they get out of line and get right back in line? Yes. But you can also do the same thing with Gold Flash Passes at SF properties, you can do the same thing with Unlimited Quick Queues at Busch parks, and you can do the same thing at Universal with their fast pass system. Hell, last year when I went to SFGAd for Green Lantern's passholder preview, I rode El Toro three times in 20 minutes with a Gold Flash Pass when the wait was almost an hour. And when it comes to these skip the line systems, the worst case scenario NEVER happens, because the parks limit the amount of passes that are sold on a daily basis. No matter how you slice it, these systems work, and work well. They provide out of towners with a chance to upgrade their experience by not having to wait as long in line (something I greatly appreciate when I'm on a trip to a place I won't return to any time soon), and it provides extra revenue for the parks (because, GASP, they're businesses trying to make money). Face it, the upgraded experiences in almost all walks of life are going to cost money. If you're a regular to a park, go on days that aren't as crowded, and you won't have to worry about long waits.
