I was there back when it opened originally, i think they were giving away tshirts, or at least everybody had on the same capt. eo shirt. Anyway, didn't want to see it then and have no desire to see it now. I mean it was sooooo good that michael had to die for it to be shown again. I've heard a lot of talk about disney wanting to put tron themed attractions in tomorrow land, something tron would be awesome and could probably make good use of the theaters effects. It would also be an easy way for disney to scrap it if the popularity of the movie fades. Of course im just assuming that the movie will do well in the fist place. Bury michael jackson, dig up capt eo. Creeps me out.

MY daughter is way to excited about the mr. six coaster, and since those little six commercials have started its even worse. I never would have thought that, just because hes little, kids would relate to him so much. Hope they get that thing up on time and get the height requirment changed. She will be sooooo disappointed if she can't ride it.

Actually, all the speculations started after, people started saying they couldn't understand how they could find any fault with intamin. Seeing what you just posted its clear that it was concerning the inspection schedule. Which, as i stated before, perhaps if the cable had been inspected every month instead of every six months some flaw may have been detected earlier. Yes, Knott's was late. Yes, they are at fault. But what if this had happened three months after an inspection, because it wasn't inspected on a monthly basis. Yes, its hypothetical, but all the intamin fans won't accept that there could be any blame on the company. If this was vekoma people would have had a field day making jokes. And as far as a faulty cable, the cable was replaced sometime around december 08 and as far as i know its replaced yearly, i could be wrong. The ride was down long periods of time right before this incident. Allot of parts on the launch system were replaced, etc.. The bottom line is that there is speculation about the cable simply because its the part of the ride that broke. Now i have another theory, but since this has turned into a pissing match ill keep them to my self. In a related note, a bag of Entenmann donuts snapped and flew into my mouth ruining my diet, leaving powdered sugar everywhere. There is no video of the incident.

Thats a good point. Using the car scenario, you can inspect your belts, but even if they look good, no cracks etc., they can still snap. One aspect i think we are forgetting is that, it was time for inspecting, not replacement. So conceivably even if they didn't miss the 6 month, they could have inspected the cable, found no flaws and still had a failure. If in fact the cable had a defect.

I have to disagree, Disneyland was getting so bad i didn't renew my membership. Starting with the free on your birth day and then the payment plan for season passes. Allot of people who, as my mother would say "haven't been anywhere and don't know how to act". I mean line jumping, unattended kids, climbing on things, ignoring barriers and just disrespecting the park in general. And although i'm guilty of bringing snacks for the kids, water and juice, i would never sit on a bench on mainsteet and whip out a giant economy bag of doritos and proceed to eat them right in front of cast members, much less drink cans of pepsi. (if you going to sneak in a soda at least make it a coke) It seems like Disney has adopted a "hands off" approach to these problems. I can rememeber a time when Disney was very strict about the conduct of their guests, but i rarely see cast members do anything now, unless someone complains. I would hope that the cast members would be able to see problems and correct them without guests having to point them out. Of course, i could be wrong.

Really your more at risk driving to there, than riding anything. But, in all honesty we all just assume, as americans, that the government has someone slithering around making sure everything is "OK" to ride. When in actuality, just like in this case, until something goes wrong, allot of this stuff goes unchecked. I mean aside from trying not to kill people, the best reason for a park to be safe is to keep insurance costs down.

^No offense, but man you you talk funny. You should have that checked.

^I have noticed that since Disneyland introduced a payment plan for passes, there are allot of rowdy teens in the park, not to mention people who bring tons of outside food and beverages and treat it like its a public park. II'msurprised they ddon'tpee in the bushes. Last time was there i had ride pirates with a boat load of drunk teenagers who ccouldn'tshut up. Now don't get me wrong, sfmm's prices are great. But, if they raised prices enough to keep out some of the rowdys, they might be able to shake that negative image they have with allot of people.

Just to be fair, i didn't see anything, anywhere about anyone "jumping down" anyones throat. It simply says they asked and didn't get a rresponse In reality the cable must need to be inspected monthly, or at least it should, i can't see making a spec ,that when passed by only three weeks, you get a ride failure. By the way i am kicking myself for talking myself out of going today, because i didn't want to drive home in traffic. I went to target instead, just brilliant.

Yeah, im still debating going. My wife said "OK" for BAB and im thinking putting this one past her will be kinda hard, unless i make it family day. Still she has a low tolerance for coasters, she starts getting dizzy, so maybe ill get to run around the park solo and get some rides in during ERT. Got the AAA magazine and yeah it seems easier to get um online.

I was just looking at the Cedar Point Coastermania page and it was cool to see the clubtpr banner along with ACE and the other coaster clubs. -
I really don't understand why Disney wants to cut corners during such a make or break time at DCA. I mean they are trying very hard to make it a stand alone park, instead of "Disneylands crowded lets go over there where nobody is". I honestly hope all the rumors are wrong. It would really be cool if it could draw some of the disneyland crowds away ,and maybe i wouldn't have to dry hump people to get around the park. Still, i dont see any way my kids would not like it. I mean i have to sit through the wild west stunt show at Knott's every time or my daughter cries. This has to be better than that

AAA Day/Night at SFMM
fatdaddy replied to BeachKidBoy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
theres already a thread for this somewhere on here -
I think if they announced it, it wouldn't work. They would have to put a limit on riders in order for it to really be ERT. If they announces it, there would probably be alot of disappointed people. On the other hand if they did it online, as a presale, they could run this every weekend. I think it would be cool if they offered a selection of coasters, that would allow them to sell more ERT by scattering riders among, say terminator, tatsu, and x2.

Photo TR: Evacuated from Disney's Nemo Ride!
fatdaddy replied to timfar's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Awesome, i would have loved to see that. I never even got to ride in the caboose of the train, much less walk through bowels of Disney (ewww that sounds nasty). I did get evacuated from indiana jones a couple times, was cool to see with the lights on, and got to look up close at indy at the end of the ride, kinda freaky. But, it did kind of ruin the illusion, i mean allot of that stuff is just smoke and mirrors, but it looks cool in the dark. Congratulations.
