  1. Jets control their own destiny now! Thanks Caldwell for taking Manning out, I doubt the Jets would have won without that gift.
  2. I got a Starbucks Gift Card that should be used up in a few days and a few other gift cards. But, best of all was a CF Platinum Pass and a SFA Season Pass.
  3. The color of Dale's Bud car was Red. The predominant color of Dale's Wrangler car was Yellow. And don't fool yourselves for a minute thinking CF even thought of this. They just happened to buy a lot of Red and Yellow paint when it was on sale. Dale Jr drove the red Bud Car not Dale Sr. Any other color relations to his cars were probably coincidental. They used Red and Yellow on Top Thrill Dragster, maybe they just think those colors represent a racing theme well. Heck, maybe they had some paint left over from the TTD project.
  4. ^ Cedar Fair seems to think red track+yellow supports=race theming.
  5. Most fanboys would think it looks awesome covered in dog crap. I would prefer cow crap for your information.
  6. Measured 20in. at my house, I don't think Kings Dominion got that much, but I305 looks awesome in the snow.
  7. The more I think about it, the more I see what you mean (about Kings Dominion at least). The reasoning perhaps why KD has lost just a little of its "pulse", in my opinion is that Cedar Fair had to re-theme a lot of Paramount based rides (such as Tomb Raider and Italian Job). And, we all know Cedar Fair was not the greatest at theming rides anyway. But, I still will probably visit there at least 15 times for 2010. I really don't think you can blame them for having to re-theme rides, and they have added 3 water attractions, 2 huge coasters, and 2 flat rides to Kings Dominion since they have acquired them. Perhaps Paramount was a bit better in theming, but in the first three seasons after they acquired Kings Dominion, they sure did not do that much. Anyway, hopefully this does not have too much of an effect on any of the former Cedar Fair Parks (it sounds so weird to say that). I think most parks will not be receiving coasters as frequently as they did under Cedar Fair, due to Apollo having to manage this huge debt load. But, if they already have obligations to buy and build new coasters for perhaps the 2011 and 2012 seasons, hopefully those arrangements will not be changed.
  8. This is very interesting, considering I had heard nothing of Cedar Fair even being sold before this. I really like what CF has done for Kings Dominion, but I really don't want to make my opinion on Apollo until they actually get in the driver's seat and start making decisions.
  9. Yeah, it is sad. It is not just the race cars setting back there, also the old Kings Dominion trucks that I had in the pictures. It would be awesome to see them recycled into something for the new I305, or at least put auction for coaster/nascar fans. Right now though, they seem to be in pretty bad condition, so I doubt anyone would pay more than they are worth for scrap metal for the cars. I would be more interested in obtaining the King Cobra cars , but as I said before Shockwave needs a parts donor because it is probably a bit hard to come across replacement parts for Togo coasters. Also, just wanted to throw in you can see the complete collection of all of the photos I took yesterday in a little bit better quality here (in a slideshow). http://s686.photobucket.com/albums/vv227/kingsdominionrulez/December%2012th%20Kings%20Dominion%20Pictures/?albumview=slideshow
  10. I believe there were also an old faded Jeff Gordan car and perhaps an old Sterling Marlin car. They were back behind a few other trucks, so I could not get a very good picture. Where those part of Days of Thunder as well? I just moved down to Virginia 2004 so I never really got a chance to check Days of Thunder out.
  11. ^I believe the King Cobra trains have been there a while someone had told me about them a while back, I just never bothered to go check them out. If you get a chance to go back down to Kings Dominion, they are on Doswell Road, right behind the Flight of Fear Building. As for the second hill the only thing I could find off the Intimidator 305 website (on the statistics page) said "Length of other drops: 150ft". What that means is a bit unclear to me considering they used the plural of drop, and they are saying length instead of height. IF they are referring to the second hill, which is a bit doubtable, that would mean the right turn would have to shave off a lot of speed! I don't really understand what "length of others drops" means, but you are very correct that the second hill is a lot smaller than the first. As long as it provides some nice airtime I really don't care how tall it is, but I am still curious to know the height of the second hill.
  12. ^The pictures really don't do the coaster as much justice as actually seeing it. I am sure it will be most impressive from the top of the lift looking down right before you descend down the hill and into the right turn. Glad you liked my picture of Volcano, to be honest I had no idea of the proximity Volcano has to Doswell Road before I went up there to get the pictures of I305. It definitely was a lot different seeing Volcano from that angle. As for the King Cobra trains, they made me just cringe thinking from memories coming off Shockwave aching. But, the trains are sort of pieces of roller coaster history! I am sure Pagal would rather see them back behind the Flight of Fear Building. Shockwave will always need a parts donor as long as it stands.
  13. I went down to Kings Dominion today and got some pictures. Hope you like them and be sure to give me your thoughts. The new, improved skyline of Kings Dominion I305 still looks gigantic from the parking lot I am pretty sure these are the old King Cobra trains from KI. On Volcano, this is where most people start to scream! Ironic, A race car in a field right next to Intimidator 305 Old KD Truck #2 Old KD Truck #1 Another perspective further down Doswell Rd. The slim catwalk of I305, almost done The very nice looking first drop Go America! At the bottom are Anaconda and Rebel Yell Good view of how giant I305 really is Second Hill of I305 is almost done Always gotta start out the day with some Taco Bell
  14. Option 6 looks really wicked and intimidating, it is my favorite by far.
  15. Since when has Cedar Fair, or even Kings Dominion for that matter been masters at theming? Honestly, I am more interested in riding the coaster than worrying about the accuracy or theming. I really don't think that will make a whole lot of people not want to ride it, the height and lift hill supports have got that job covered quite well.
  16. Is Griffon the only coaster open during Christmas Town?
  17. I wouldn't be so negative about Intimidator 305 until you actually ride it.
  18. I guess we will just have to wait and see who is correct about Chang.
  19. ^ I just cannot see them storing the track at SFGAM with all this talk about the coaster coming to the park and then just moving it to another park for 2011. I think that would anger more than a few people. But, who knows you could be right, I am just looking at what is being presented now. If I am wrong you can say "I told ya so" in 2011. But right now, almost everything points to Chang coming to SFGAM.
  20. Isn't it still a bit early to make such large assumptions? In my opinion, its usually worse to assume and be disappointed, than never to assume at all... Screamscape is also making these "assumptions" and backing them up with pictures of what appear to be Chang being unloaded at SFGAM. http://screamscape.com/html/six_flags_great_america.htm
  21. It dwarfs Anaconda, and Anaconda is quite tall itself. That picture looks surreal, I cannot wait to actually get my first ride on I305!
  22. Should be an awesome next few years for Six Flags Great America with Little Dipper and possibly Chang on the way. I still cannot believe Little Dipper only sold for $33,000, but at least it went to a nice park that is capable for caring for it for years to come!
  23. Awesome pictures. I loved the picture with both Dominator and Intimidator. Just makes me love Cedar Fair even more. I am thinking about going down to KD tomorrow myself to check it out. I cannot wait until April.
  24. I am both excited and relieved to see it topped off. Hopefully, I can take a drive down I-95 to see this for myself sometime this week/weekend.
  25. On top of that, considering this week is Thanksgiving, it could be a while before we see I305 topped off.
