I'm a southern California native. Looks like you're about to embark on an adventure here! They're all great parks. I know that Six Flags MM honors the can of coke deal (buy 1 ticket, get a 2nd free). As for Knotts, they probably have some promotion floating around where you can get discount tickets at Ralphs or something... you never know...I haven't been up on it lately as I have no window to take a trip down to Knotts any time soon. I haven't been to Disneyland in years though. In reiteration of what was said above, check out In And Out Burger as well as Del Taco....some good fast food locations located only in the west I recall. They're my favorite fast food locations, and I'm sure this sentiment is shared by many California residents. Enjoy your trip!

MAGIC MOUNTAIN FOR FIRST TIMERS
GivenOneChance replied to Gary S's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
July 20 is a weekday, but you have to keep in mind that it is the summer [school is out] and Six Flags primarily appeals to youth, young adults, etc. In other words, there will be more people there than if it was a school day. I don't know how big it gets (crowded wise), I haven't been there since like 2005, but I would expect it to get a decent crowd as it picks up into the day. You should enjoy the first couple of hours with little crowd, people, lines if you head to the opposite end of the park (toward Goliath, etc) rather than toward X2 right when you enter the park. I'm not sure if they have tightened up the security procedures, but they don't allow you to walk in (that is you have to be screened (bombs, knifes, you know, etc). However, I doubt they would confiscate or not allow you to enter the park if you had a water bottle...it's really hot here!!! and some food? I don't bring food, but I make sure I bring a water bottle....and I just leave the park early (and walk to wendy's that is adjacent to the park, go to the gas station (AMPM) and then return to the park and ride for a several more ours). There's no reason that they should tell you not to bring water. That would be ridiculous just considering our climate. I've nearly got dehydrated here in the park. lmao. Well @ 10:30, try 9:50, 10 solid. Many of these people like to run to X(x2) but if you get there early you'll have a solid place in line and should get to ride whatever your wish ride (whatever ride you want to ride first) without any line....several times and more! I live about an hour away from Six Flags MM and I'd say around 7:30-8 PM. Hhahaha I'm basing this on just today, actually haha. But I'd say that's accurate. Enjoy your trip. -
Roughest coaster
GivenOneChance replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My first experience with X was horrible. I first rode it in 2003 and didn't enjoy it. I was much shorter back then so the rests that come down onto your shoulders, etc were leveled to that of my head. So if I laid my head on the head rest, my head would bang up against them...I learned in 2004 that if I stick my head out, I don't have a problem. Now I'm much more taller and don't have to worry about the thing. -
How many times the same ride in a day ?
GivenOneChance replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm into riding roller coasters a bunch of times. I went to Knotts Berry Farm and rode several different things I couple of times. Wouldn't really consider these roller coasters: Perilous Plunge: rode 12 times straight, around 14 total for the day [for the straight part--being that it was night probably had something to do with it]. Supreme Scream: At least 10 times. I didn't keep track Rollercoasters - Boomerang: 10+ times I can't say this for Six Flags MM though. The max I have ridden a given ride is 3 times before moving on to another ride. I make a complete circuit around the park whenever I go. -
Top 10 Video Games of All Time

I don't think I could rank: However, I can list, in no particular order. RCT 2 Socom 2 NBA 2K5 Halo 2 GRAW Donkey Kong 64 Banjo Kazooie Super Mario 64 Pokemon Blue, Red, Yellow etc Goldeneye 64 I grew up with the N64, PlayStation. Missed out on all the "greatness" of SNES, NES, Genesis, etc. -
Whoa. You don't like Subway? You should at least add something fast-food oriented, that is somewhat healthy, healthier to a degree. On a side note, I'm a big time fast food eater. I don't go a week without eating out. My favorites: Subway and Del Taco. I did enjoy Carls Jr, but when I ordered a chicken sandwich and as soon as I unwrapped the sandwich, a fly flew out...I never ate there again. It's pretty stupid for me to predicate my action on a mere fly, when in reality, I know that there's probably flies flying around touching food in a given Del Taco, etc, but that's just something I don't see when I munch down a good burrito, burger, etc. Hahha.

I'm 18. Call me Chance for short. I'm a California native, and a fan of Knotts Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain. Unfortunately, I've yet to get the opportunity to travel with the sole purpose of riding other roller coasters in different locales. But it's a dream...and I hope to one day go on a roller coaster trip across the states to parks like Cedar Point, SF Great Adventure + America + Over Texas + New England, etc etc.

Looking for windows web host recommendations
GivenOneChance replied to monsterfan99's topic in Random, Random, Random
I use Bluehost, and have been with them for about 3 years now, I'm completely happy, it really is unlimited badwidth and storage. (I run a video site!) But I'm a Unix guy, and not a fan of IIS, so I am not sure if they're any good for that. Wow, nice to see other Bluehost support. -

I recommend Bluehost.com I used them for 12 months. And was pleased with their customer support (don't even need to call them, you can contact them web-based, live, etc). Plus I thought the quality of the service was well. Good luck with your endeavor. -

MAGIC MOUNTAIN FOR FIRST TIMERS

There's nothing to be afraid of with Superman. Take a look: Enjoy your trip, enjoy the best Six Flags has to offer! -
What would you say the plan would be if every coaster's a new credit there? I've been researching this question lately for our trip coming up on June 12 and 13 (First time to SFMM!) but with Terminator there now, I have no idea what I should try and get done 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. From my experience, if you get to the park when it opens, run to the other end of the park, away from X2. Many people (before Terminator) would run/head toward X/X2. Other people, like me, seemed to glide toward Goliath's end....it's a long walk I guess... lol. Whenever I went, I walked/ran to Goliath first. Rode Goliath several times without any line, then headed to Scream and Colossus. Rode several times as well. Then I headed to Riddlers and Batman...rode once (little line to deal with). Then I moved up toward Superman, Ninja, and Tatsu....rode once From there, I headed to Goldrusher and Deja Vu....rode once. So my suggestion: 1. Goliath 2. Scream 3. Colossus 4. Batman 5. Riddlers - maybe fit in tidal wave if that's still open lol....the heat is gonna kill ya! 6. Goldrusher 7. Superman 8. Ninja 9. Tatsu 10. Deja Vu I guarantee you'll get all this done by 1:00--2:00 (I did this during a weekday in the summer and on New Years Eve 2006 I recall though). Then make your way to the other end of the park: 11. Viper 12. X2 (likely to have a large line to deal with) 13. Revolution Of course, you gotta fit Terminator in there somewhere, but keep in mind I do this (did this) prior to there being a Terminator everytime I visit Six Flags MM; I always make sure to get there at about 9:30 though...that's key...if you're like me and love to ride rides multiple times. Have fun on your trip.
