  1. Nice report. Best way to get your pass is to purchase online and print the voucher. Show the printed voucher to the parking attendant and you still get the free parking - no hassles of trying to get it refunded.
  2. ^ Guess that changed this year, they usually open daily the week of Memorial Day. It is probably due to the fact that most schools in Virginia don't end until the second week of June and won't have many of their employees.
  3. ^^^ Yeah that was one crazy day with lines. Maybe we can meet up again sometime this summer. ^^ Works for me ^ That is in my experience. I usually don't spend all day there so my times are a little off. But I have been there in the afternoon on numerous Saturdays where the line wasn't even outside the building. If the line was outside it was usually only around 10-20 people. And there is a big difference between the lines of KI and KD. Kings Dominion has a direct line into the main queue, no switchbacks inside like Kings Island.
  4. If anyone can make it to the park today during the last four hours you can probably marathon it. I went in for the third straight day to get some rides on it and every ride in the park including I305 is a 1 to 2 train wait. I did not attempt to see Volcano though. Today I noticed they were not slowing the train down near the top of the lift like the previous two days and I was thrown off my seat going over the hill and down.
  5. ^ As I said last page, they were running two until they had a problem and put the one on the transfer track. The reason I said it was the problem with that train was because that specific train went slow up the lift after they held it in the station for around ten minutes before dispatching. After that it went on the transfer track. The other train I never saw go up the lift slow.
  6. Just got back from the park again, just went in to get a couple of rides on Intimidator. Right before I was getting on for my second time they had another problem with the second train. They placed it back on the transfer track and a couple of maintenance workers were there. I have no idea what is wrong with the second train.
  7. ^ That is what I heard from a few people that caused the vines to collapse.
  8. April 2, 2010 This was a hot April day here in Virginia. So what can we do to celebrate that fact? Intimidator 305 Opening day of course. I will just say that I am still up in the air if this is better than Millennium Force, but it is already even in my book. The lines for this ride can go extremely fast with a good crew working it. It does have a single rider line but in the afternoon that line was being used by groups and nothing was being done about it. For the ride, the lift hill doesn't even seem to be there as fast as you go up there. The first drop is amazing and the first turn like everyone else I grayed out on. I only got neck chopped once on the crazy transitions but that was because I was looking at something and wasn't paying attention. If this ride didn't have OTSR, you would probably head butt the rider next to you unless you were grabbing the restraint as hard you can. The park was extremely crowded; Volcano, FoF and Dominator's queues were full. The Grizzly had an hour wait. The only other coaster I rode other than Intimidator 305 was Rebel Yell. Enough of talking on to the pictures. View from the parking lot Over Dodgems Entrance Plaza This is where I stood at the end of the line for my first ride. Entrance sign Stupid stick... Trains are trains. It is the ride that matters! The man this ride is themed for. I would love to drive one of these I walked over this two times before I noticed it. About to endure the gray outs You can see this ride from anywhere, this shows how big it is compared to any other ride in the park Going around on the turn around on Rebel Yell is priceless Zoomed in shot from the tower Overview Freshly painted Volcano You're good, but not that good to wait for a full queue. Look who I found and we're both sporting our wonderful Club TPR shirts! Met two other TPR members also. So this is what snow does Were these here last year? I thought it was all pavement This is how packed it was, when was the last time you saw this queue full?
  9. ^^ That was my complaint in the afternoon. When I went into the single rider line about 3 I saw this group of six in there, a group of three and two friends. Definitely not a single rider lane there, but that is not all the line assigners problem. It is the problem of the employee at the entrance of the line. In the morning the employee at the entrance stood in front of the line, while in the afternoon it was left wide open.
  10. ^^ If the line for the front row wasn't long, anyone who asked was usually granted their request.
  11. When I first got there, the line was outside the queue past the car they have there. It took a total of 15-20 minutes to get on the train for my first ride. I would love to always have assigned seating if that is how fast they get people through the line. Edit: Well if it is busy of course. If the park is empty there is no reason for assigned seating.
  12. 11AM can't get here quick enough... I'm ready to leave work for KD now!
  13. That is really good to hear Around 14-15 more hours until I get in line for this ride...
  14. ^ It looks that way but it is probably just the view from the picture.
  15. ^ You're not the only one who does that. I can just wake up one morning and end up somewhere 4 or so hours away.
  16. Great photos Chuck! Thanks for keeping us posted with whats happening at Busch Gardens.
  17. I'll be there by noon at the latest.
  18. I go lots of times alone and have no trouble at all having fun. Like previous posters have said you get to do whatever you like at your own time and don't have to wait on anyone. You get to take advantage of single rider lines which can make your day more enjoyable by getting more rides in and not waiting in long lines.
  19. For anyone worrying about it being ready for Friday: www.nbc12.com/Global/story.asp?S=12222089
  20. Nice photos. That is one plain putt putt course there.
  21. ^^ I'll be there around noon on Friday to get in a ride or two and take many pictures. Can't leave work until 11 that morning, hopefully I will remember to bring my shirt with me.
  22. Nope, they were always supposed to have the newer style trains like Diamondback and Behemoth.
  23. That would be great! I have only met Big Mike and a couple others from TPR. It would be nice to meet some more. Right now I am leaning towards Tuesday June 22 for SFMM. But I will be doing Disneyland, Knotts and other surrounding LA parks from that Saturday 19th to the 24th, leaving LA to San Francisco on the morning of the 25th.
