Zac Spins are complicated rides that im sure SFA is not ready to handle yet. I can see the downtime now..

^ Other than Hurrican Harbor, SFA has 4 water rides; Penguin's Blizzard River, Renegade Rapids, Shipwreck Falls, and Skull Mountain. Losing 1 water ride isn't that big of a deal if you look at it that way. What makes this a big deal is that SFA is removing a ride. SFA had PLENTY of room to expand. I don't understand why they would want to remove a ride in order to build one. Maybe they plan on connecting a path from Skull Island to Gotham or Whistlestop Park. If they do not use this as a new passageway, then I have no idea what their purpose was. My only idea for a new ride in 2012 would be a River Battle style attraction. I'm not getting my hopes up that something big or thrilling will be placed at the park. A River Battle would fit in with the Pirate theme and once you remove Skull Mountain, all that would be left will be a large empty pool that they can easily fill back up with water and build a cheap River Battle.

Intimidator 305 last Tuesday! I still blacked out even though they changed the layout a bit.. haha

^lol is it that serious? There was no rant, it was my opinion. I guess I offended you? SFA does attract large crowds on SATURDAYS in the summer. They would be larger if SFA brought a new thrill into the park. As for the other 6 days of the week, the park most likely will be empty, unless its a holiday.

^SFA doesnt really compete with BGW. 1) their on completely different levels and 2) BGW and SFA are about 4 hours away from each other. The majority of SFA's guests are locals and tourists of DC. The majority of BGW's guests are tourists of Williamsburg, VA Beach area. SFA is in desperate need of a new major thrill. Something that will bring people back. So many people I know do not even think about going to SFA on a nice summer day anymore as everyone is simply bored with the park. Ive been riding those same 6 coasters all of my life, I just rather drive to Kings Dominion to get new thrills. Also, if SFA really wanted people to come, they would advertise a lot better. I see almost 6 Kings Dominion commercials a day. "Fun & Only" "Ride-On Ride Warriors" haha, but I hardly ever see SFA commercials. And when I do, its a boring commercial that I cannot even remember right this moment.

^In mid summer on Saturdays, the park gets very crowded. Mind Eraser, Joker's Jinx, Batwing, and Superman all have long lines. (Batwing always has long lines any day of the week) The only coasters that do not pick up long lines are Wild One and Roar.

^Hypersonic was a "bad taste"? I actually liked that ride even though I only rode it once before it was demolished. The brake was pretty hard but the launch and hill was worth it. Was there any reasoning behind demolishing Hypersonic?

I think The Grove section of the park needs a new major thrill because when I was at the park yesterday, that section seemed so "dead". I did not ride anything over there because none of the coasters were worth waiting an hour for when Intimidator had only a 15 minute wait, if that. I always hated how SFA always waits so late to announce a new attraction. (well in this case, a retheme) lol but I'm glad the park is doing something. Those slides were my favorite. I kind of knew that they would re-open them one day and I'm glad they are doing it! Don't know how its going to work with Tony Hawk (or whatever its new name is) infront of it...

SFA still might get something this year. They never actually announce new additions until January or February. It most likely won't be big, but there is a chance the park will recieve something!

That video is very cool! I love how creepy it looks. I can imagine a lot of teens probably broke in there on Halloween.

Thats because after 4 everyday, the park had a special discount and admission was only $35.

Everytime I visited SFA this year, they were very good on dispatch times! Good job SFA!

Since when has sharing an opinion become whinning? I guess its whinning because nobody agrees with me. Your right. Whether you like it or not, I feel SFA is neglected. I will feel this way until SFA atleast annouces something new for 2011. If you have a problem with it, oh well. This is a forum where people discuss opinions and such. Not a "If you dont see things how I see it, then your a whinny baby" forum.

^SFA definitely is neglected. The park recieves little to nothing (minus last year) compared to all the other parks in the chain. Nobody that is not a SFA regular or someone that shows interest in the park wouldn't care that SFA is neglected because their parks are being taken care of. SFA loses more and more attractions each year with hardly anything coming in. What is SFA getting this year for the big 50 years celebration or whatever, NOTHING. But I can gaurentee that we will lose something.

GADV loses flats, but in return they recieve coasters. SFA loses flats, a coaster, waterslides, food stalls, games, and more, but we have nothing to complain about because we got Thomas Town this year!!! Yayy!!

^SFFT recieved a coaster in 2007 and another in 2008. SFA's last coaster was in 2001. Thats what I was talking about, COASTERS not random little baby rides. CGA is not in the SF chain so thats an irrelevant comparison. But CGA might be the "red-headed step child" of CF, I feel SFA is the "red-headed step child" of SF. KD gets bigger rides not because its a bigger park, but because CF and Paramount actually invested money in the place, year after year. SF invested money in SFA when they first bought the property, then stopped adding attractions and the guests slowly stopped coming. SFA has plenty of space for new additions, but SF does not invest. Why? Nobody will ever know. If you think its because people won't come, your wrong. There are millions of people in the DC metro area. Everybody is just tired of riding the same old rides over and over that they rather travel an hour down to KD or 2 hours to SFGAdv or Hershey. SFA has the potential of being huge, but SF does not realize that.

^Thomas Town was the first new attraction to the regular park since 2006. While almost every other park in the chain gets new attractions, thrill at that, yearly, we just feel that SFA lacks that. SFA hasn't recieved a coaster since 2001. SFA loses an attraction every year. Thomas Town consists of only about 3 new rides, everything else was moved from somewhere inside the park. To sum it all up, we just feel that SFA is in need for a new thrill. A coaster would be awesome, but really, any type of thrill will do.

^How were the lines? I'm planning on going next weekend for the first time ever. It'll probably be even more crowded next weekend since it's Halloween weekend though.

^Its not a continuous line everywhere. At the haunts I've been to in Maryland, one was groups of no more than 10, and the other was groups of no more than 6. Anyways, I really enjoy seeing halloween trip reports from parks outside of America! I'm always so curious to see how the other countries do things.

When driving past Six Flags America's entrance on 214, if you look through the exit, you get a nice view of Superman, Mind Eraser, Roar, and Hurricane Harbor. I gotta remember to get a pic next time I drive past it.

lol im not a KD fanboy. I love SFA dearly (i live right across the street from it) but for me, I've been riding these same 6 coasters my whole life. I just want something new and thrilling, and KD has that. For people that don't live around here and its their first time visiting, they will have a good time, but for me its the same old rides over and over. Thomas Town's nice and all, but a coaster or a thrill ride of some sort would be better, atleast in my opinion.

You do if you want to get on multiple good rides. (KD or BGW).
