Yeah, they did it last year and it was just a bunch of actors standing on that two-mile path from Oak Grove (picnic Pavilion) to Gotham. It was unique, but it could have been soooooooo much better. They have like 5 random warehouses back there. USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!!! Those could have been haunted houses since SFA is in desperate need of a REAL one. I went the other day, since I had absolutely nothing to do, and was craving a funnel cake lol. I actually had a good time, but this place is in need of a new thrilling attraction. Thomas Town is great and all, but what am I gonna do with that? What would I look like waiting in line to ride Thomas the Chu Chu Train lol. (BTW, I'm 18 just incase anyone was wondering lol)

^Lines are nonexistant outside of the waterpark at SFA! But it used to be packed when Fright Fest was good. And earlier, someone said there are two mazes, that is false. There is only one maze and it's the worst piece of crap ever(Bridge of Terror). Blood Moon Rising is a show. The train looks like the only really interesting attraction they have to offer, but knowing its SFA, it will be some garbage. I hate to bash this park as its my homepark and I used to defend it with all my heart, but its the same old crap year after year.

Whats wrong with liking SFA? I mean its no Cedar Point or SFMM, but it has some fun coasters and a good waterpark. I don't really care if everybody else hates the park for whatever reasons they have, but you don't have to call it "silly" for someone to have pride in their homepark. Besides this is a forum. People type what they think about whatever subject it is. If a SFA Fanboy thinks SFA needs 500 million coasters to be sucessful, let them think it. The main question to all the people that hate SFA is; Why are you even in this thread talking down to people? Are you getting a thrill out of it? I don't understand But anyways, I went to the park today and it was great! All coasters were running two trains except Joker's Jinx and I think Batwing. Joker's Jinx purple train was on the transfer track. The park was packed today as well. I had to park in the last lot and take the shuttle to the gate. Didn't see anything break down and it was all around a great day. Only problem was that the crew on Roar was extremely slow today. Ride Count: Roar - 1 Superman - 2 Joker's Jinx - 1 Wild One - 3 Mind Eraser - 2 I didn't ride Batwing because I don't really like how it feels like you can fall out at any minute. lol. Anyways, great day SFA! I really enjoyed my visit and I'll be back soon!

^That wasn't their exact words, but what they basically said. I'll find it and quote it. And I think SFA Regular meant a all season haunted house, meaning open everyday the park is, not the winter. But with that idea, I can see the public getting bored with it quickly. If not changed, it would get repetitive and people would loose interest.

A couple pages back, you guys mentioned that SFA is a small park and that they cannot add huge new attractions because there aren't as many people. SFA is in the Washington Metro area which has millions of people living here and more to come. If SFA added a huge coaster like Intimidator, people would flock to the park in droves.

I don't know about y'all, but I live right next to SFA and almost everyday, (minus the past few days we were in 100*+ weather) SFA looked like it was crowded. I don't remember this many days last year where the first and second parking lots were filling up on a constant basis. Maybe you guys don't like how barren Gotham City is.. well the trees that are there aren't going to grow any faster just because you complain. Give it a couple years and it will look great! As for me going to the park, I can honestly admit that I've been to SFA only twice this year and that is simply because I AM BORED with the park. I would rather go to KD or SFGADV instead of SFA, but even though I feel that way, I still support SFA and every decision they make, whether smart or dumb. I really think the park needs to step their game up and build some thrill rides. A lot of you say that thrill rides ad coasters don't make a park, well look at SFMM; they have like 15 coasters (maybe more/less idk) and hardly any flats or anything else bringing guests back, but they are successful. We as enthusiasts might look farther than coasters, but the GP come mainly because of coasters and SFA is lacking in that department.

All I can say about that is; if you know your really fat, you shouldn't be trying to squeeze into a roller coaster, you should be trying to squeeze into a gym. I don't know how someone could be upset at the park because THEY can't fit in the ride. Its not the park's fault YOUR fat. They do their best to accommodate a vast majority of the guests.

Oldest Coaster You've Ridden

The Wild One (1917)- Six Flags America -
I say, don't touch the rides the park already has and start adding more rides into the park. SFA will NEVER pay the money to enclose Joker's Jinx, and thats not even necessary. Plus, its cool to see the ride speed through that jumbled track. Also, turning Gotham Arena into a Wild Mouse would be unnecessary as well. There is a huge plot of land where Two Face and Looney Tunes Trucking Company (now Diesel Derby in Thomas Town) used to be. That is the ideal spot for a new attraction. Can easily hold a Tony Hawk style wild mouse.

Arizonaguy, I edited it because I re-read it, and it wasn't as clear as it was in my head, when I first typed it. I agree with my statements as well as Sharktums. krazekiddd, I've never heard the real story until now, if I had heard that, I wouldn't have even tried to argue saying it was all fun and games. That was very immature and I hope they were punished for their behavior. B-radG, the only long waits will probably be in Gotham later o in the day. Batwing will always have a line, so ride it first. Superman usually gets a line and so does Joker. The rest of the coasters will most likely be walk-ons for the entire day. The Gotham coasters and the Wild One enforce lockrs, Roar and Mind Eraser have bins. And unfortunately the food is kind of expensive.

LOL wow Sharktums, I think your overreacting. They weren't encouraging the GP to fight, they were just having some fun. They knew that the people without flashpasses would be upset since they waited x amount of time, and when they were about to ride, someone with flashpasses takes their seat.(sorry for my huge run-on sentence lol) Its not like they said everyone spit at them or flick em off. So everyone, lets stop overreacting trying to keep SFA's bad reputation going when they are clearly doing 1000x better now than before.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
CoasterNERD502 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey everybody! I'm supposedly going to KD tomorrow for my sis cheer competition and the weather says 60% chance of rain all day. Does anyone happen to know KD's bad weather policy? Will they shut down the park? Also I plan on buying my ticket online to get a discount, would they give me a refund or a ticket to come back if they close the park? Also if the park stays open, will they run the coasters? (especially Intimidator(if its open yet), Dominator, and Volcano) Sorry for asking sooo many questions! But thanks in advance to anyone with answers -
^ Well thats two... I don't know why everybody "hates" SFA. Its a good park. I bet half of the people that "trash" the park have never even been there before. So Shapiro doesn't add a new coaster every year like other parks, he does that because he knows people will come to SFA regardless. If not, then the park would have shut down years ago. People are always going to be in the Washington metro area because its the freakin' capitol of the US! So we don't have 50 million coasters like SFMM and SFGADV. Those parks need all the rides they can get to be successful. SFGADV is in slum Jersey (actually I've never been to Jersey so I don't know what they offer besides SFGADV and the beach which isn't even that great. Vegas is better than Atlantic City and Seaside Heights or whatever city was on the show "Jersey Shore" is ghetto. They fought on every episode! but anyways back to my rant!)... and SFMM has to compete with Disney and Universal, without those record-breaking coasters, it would fail. Yes it would be great to get a new coaster at SFA, but I'm happy with what the park offers now. I don't even know if that was what was being discussed in the thread, but it was on my mind so I typed it up. Hope I didn't break any rules or offend anyone.

Tips for Six Flags America?
CoasterNERD502 replied to KingB24's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don't let them scare you, SFA is not all that bad. Of course SFA has a rep of fights and robberies, just don't mean mug anyone and leave your ipod or any other valuables someone might want, at home or in a car. As for crowds, its actually hard to say, SFA is usually dead, but sometimes, if the weather is nice, its crowded. Just get there early and head to the back of the park first. There arent many special places to eat at SFA, but they opened this new restaurant called Bone's Chicken and Waffles, that might be something to look into trying. Its right next to Shipwreck Falls and Roar. There are also several Subways, Papa Johns, and a Coldstone. There is a sort of buffet style restaurant in Coyote Creek called Crazy Horse Saloon. They have chicken fingers, mac n cheese, greens, baked beans, curly fries, and cornbread. And you can get a fresh funnel cake from almost every section of the park. -
Coasters at Night
CoasterNERD502 replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Superman ROS at SFA!!! Since Supes is back in the cut, there are no lights. Its pitch black until the on-ride photo in the first helix, but after that bright flash your blinded for a couple seconds. Its sooo great! I also like Wild One at night. You get to view all of the lights of the park from every angle. On Supes, all you see is like a mini view of the lights, but on Wild One, everything is closer.
