Six Flags Great Adventure 4/11
rawrtotheargh replied to coastakid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Simply brilliant Robb. And personally I can tell you that I've done a 3 hour drive to go to six flags magic mountain and as I was about to enter the san fernando valley I was stopped because a fire that closed down the freeway. But that was my fault for not checking the "weather" when I woke up. I didn't get mad at the park for not posting anything about it on their site. They can't tell the things that mother nature will do. i.e, storms (fire and rain) And on a second side note. One time my family and I were eating at Johnny Rockets and they ran out of hamburger pattys! Yes a burger joint out of meat!! But they were super nice about it and they gave us free sodas while they tried to track down some meat from another location. My point being that six flags is TRYING to be a better park chain. And as an enthusiast you clearly love the rides that these parks can offer. Now by not supporting your local parks they are only going to go into further debt and possibly shut down all together. And a world without amusement parks would be quite a dismal place. So forgive and forget and love Six Flags and any other park for the amazing experiences they can give you when they are having good days. -
SeaWorld Rehabilitates Sea Turtles
rawrtotheargh replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
haha maybe that is in the future. possibly even other creatures. only time can tell. but its good to hear that they are getting help. sea turtles are so adorable. more so than red-eared sliders. -
This ride is looking more and more gorgeous as time goes on. And it looks like its going to be an awesome experience. On a side note. Does anyone know what the purpose of the red sensor thing is on the front of the trains? I noticed that they installed them on Tatsu around .. i want to say like the later part of 08. But I haven't been able to figure out their function. I know there is a receiver on the catwalk on the turn to the lift. Just curious as to its purpose. Here is a photo that i cropped to show it better. Credit to johnnyupsidedown.

rawrtotheargh replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have one in my car and I use one at work. And everytime someone see's it they ask 'what is theme park review?' I then tell them and they give me this WTF look. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
rawrtotheargh replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While waiting in line for Colossus at SFMM I told my sister that you could see the coaster in the opening of Step By Step. She then went on to tell me that this wasn't true because there was a beach in the opening credits. Another time one of my friends tried to say that Deja Vu opened before Batman The Ride. And he kept insisting that he knew more about SFMM when it was his second time going. -
I think the trains looked awesome without the graphic. But whats done is done. But maybe when the ride is done it will fit in with some part of the theming in the queue or the station. The zero car makes the train look super long though. But I like it; especially when the train is flying through the course. B&M's are definitely elegant rides.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
rawrtotheargh replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Goliath at SFMM on Tuesday 4-7. Was actually my 200th ride on Goliath this year. I cried a little And the photo is from last year. haha Obviously. But thought it would be cute under the Titan photo. -
When they seats rotate into flying position there is a little pin that slides out to prevent the restraint from opening all the way. When you are sitting in seats one and 3 it will be on your right hand side. And in 2 and 4 it will be on your left hand side. It looks like it can still open a lot but i'm sure B&M knows what they are doing. Not like they haven't been around for a while.

Yeah I noticed that too. Everytime I see Jay walking around he is always picking up trash if there is some. I though that was interesting. And they have become more attentive to customer service. Getting a lot more hellos and such. And I can understand $10 extra for X2. They need to make more money where ever they can. Support the parks you love unless you want to possibly lose them.

I always assumed people taller than 48" couldn't ride because the cars don't have any upstop wheels. Canyon blaster doesn't either but it has an upstop bar. I believe percy just runs on a rail. Like the side frictions in Europe. But of course I could always be wrong. Maybe the manufacturer has a better reason.

The past couple times i've visited the park they were doing the same thing at Tatsu(Re-rides). Which is interesting because at X they were letting us re-ride if we wanted to, so long as there was no one at the stairs (or ramp). But also depending on which attendant you ask they sometimes say you can re-ride on Tatsu. And in regards to the Q-Bot: Have they always asked for Season Pass? Cause I don't remember giving mine at SFGA. But I could just be having an epic memory fart. Oh and on price boards is it per person or its the total price for the entire party? Again its been a while since i've used a Q-bot so I kind of forgot.

Rob, If we already purchased some tickets and it turns out that more people want to come can we simply go back to the store and purchase more tickets under the same username? Or are the new people going to need to create their own account and then buy their tickets? Cause we would all love to hopefully be in the same group for the tours and such.
