A lucky trip to Disneyland
SuperShawn replied to ajinaz's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had some customers come into my store yesterday (Saturday) Saying they had tried to go to Disneyland earlier in the day, however the ash was smoke was horrible they were slightly discouraged. Did you find that it was affecting your day there at all? Or any of the ride operations? Also they said when they arrived a transformer had went out and they were told half the rides were not in operation, do you or anyone else have any other information on this? I ask because I was planning on going monday but am slightly worried on the state of things. -
This year, although not multi-park eventful was still quite nice for me. 1) Moved from Seattle to LA 2) Put my seasons pass to good use at Magic Mountain (this includes my first trip there ever) 3) Experienced Disney Magic 4) My first trip to Vegas! 5) Credit count hit 100 wooooo! And thats it. I'll make it to MM at least once more, hopefully DCA for the first time, and Knotts for the first time by the end of the year. Which although i hear bad things, Ill be excited none the less! Heres to a hopefully amazing 09 season!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
SuperShawn replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
November 2nd at about 5pm I took my seat in the last row on Desperado for what could count as one of the most painful things I've yet to expierience. -
Eddie Izzard and Jeff Dunham. An executive transvestite as well as a man who plays with dolls. Both equal amazing in my book.

That was my initial thought as well. Which would still have potential to make a pretty groovy ride experience , how ever I personally hope that when we do possibly see one of these built in the future, there are other dimensions of rotation, so as its not just different flying positions.

Do the Ride Ops on Thunder Dolphin still tell you to put your hands up in a "Big O" before they deploy the train? -
I wanted to just state I'm glad I am not the only gay male on here who likes to spend a day getting shaken, tossed, flipped, dropped, launched, etc. As someone who was raised Mormon I know how hard it is living in silence with who you are. (Yes Mormon, I'm a grand Gay Gothic Mormon, and let me just say how proud my parents are..... ) And since I've come out of the closet in high school, there has been a lot more acceptance within society. It has taken a long time but I'm finally comfortable with who I am. And well I'm here to support others who are having difficulties with coming out of the closet, seeing as my experience was far from perfect. Testicles.... that is all

The only way to end the day is always with an adult beverage.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
SuperShawn replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I'll just say that as rollercoaster addict, yes i'm sad its not going to be the biggest craziest wooden coaster in the world. But it was to be expected as we've known for quite some time the park wanted to add in a bit more family orientated rides and such. I think it will be a good addition that will help round out the parks collection and appeal to those who don't want the biggest extreme insane coasters. I have friends that will now have something of a size they are happy riding at the park instead of sitting on the sidelines waiting everything out. As far as the theming and effects and such, well only time can show us what will be in store for us. But I think what ever effects and sounds and such will do just fine, it can't possibly make the ride worse than if it was just a coaster right. -
I can deal with pretty much anything, but man, even the smallest of spiders makes me scream and freak out... even thinking about spiders gets me all freaked out.

Construction crews that build as slow as possible and decide to make as much noise as early in the morning next to my window....

I had a quick trip up to the park today and saw what all has been going on. Pretty similar to whats already been depicted in the recent construction photos, I think they are almost ready to start pouring and get to the fun of filling that sucker in soon ~ As for my quick trip to the park, why oh why when I go there do the ride operators suck at cycling the trains efficiently? Well in specific its always on Batman... How ever the Tatsu Ops were being quite slow as well, stacking up the two trains every time without fail... The two reasons I went to the park was to finally experience X2 and to ride Colossus backwards; Which we rode twice in a row, for some reason it doesn't seem as deadly backwards to my body as it does forwards. My quick thoughts on finally getting on X2 was that they were cycling efficiently, in the hour it took to ride it didn't malfunction or break once, the sound track really does work well with the ride, there was no fire or fog on for our ride. Back row on the left side still makes me happy like a german school girl. Although why did the shoulder restraints seem to kill me more than the old X trains? Any who it was a quick trip, and I'm excited to see the progress of the new coaster as it gets erected

It took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but the amount of quotes I use from that show daily amazes me! And I have been jumping for joy ever since i saw the huge billboards around town for it!!!! Bubbles is one of the best characters! I also am a huge fan of Daboth (spelling?) The only gay in the village! haha I love those guys

Hello, My name is Shawn, and I have an addiction to round dot eyed fuzzy cute animals! OH and Theme Parks. I live in Hollywood (now) and am about 30 minutes from SFMM, but most of my Rollercoaster adventures happened while I studied abroad in Japan 4 years ago, and the occasional family trips from long ago. I've managed to ride 88 different coasters so far. I'm currently a slave to retail and a future student of fashion design.
