When I was 6, I chickened out on the Scream Machine at Expo '86, aka Ninja at SFSL. I only rode Big Thunder when I hit the Magic Kingdom when I was 8, so I missed both Space mountain tracks. I also passed on the giant boomerang at SFDK after Tony Hawk had his way with my equilibrium. Oh, and I didn't even know about Veggie Tales at Dollywood. I totally would have whored-out on that ride.

^Sorry man, the High Roller has been closed for a while now. Believe me, it would have been mentioned on this thread long before your post. There are other rides up there, but the coaster has gone the way of the dodo.

^Speed is definitely open, and it's a shame you missed it. Best coaster in Vegas. The Rollercoaster is very rough, and it's not a good coaster, but I really like the dive loop. It was also my first and only Togo. Canyon Blaster is very intense, due to the fact that it's crammed into the Adventure dome. I was very surprised at how fast the train whipped through the course. Nice Arrow multi-looper. Desperado is rough around the edges, but I loved its speed and airtime. Besides, it's one of only 5 Arrow hypers ever built!

Yeah SFMM always has gum-covered coaster supports. Another classic GP move at SFMM is spitting at the end of Tatsu. As people wait to head back into the station, they notice where countless others have worn away the paint on the floor beneath them with saliva, and then they follow suit. Goes to show you that most people aren't only disgusting and disrespectful, but that they have a sheep-like mentality.

Photo TR: My Final SFGAm Adventure

Here's a welcome in advance to California! Glad you got to ride the Bull a couple times before you left. As a consolation prize, you get to visit SFMM, KBF, USH and DLR, with hardly any airtime between them! I see that you call yourself "director guy" and that you are moving to Sherman Oaks...what kind of...films...will you be involved in? Seriously, though, hope you like So Cal. I know I do! -
^Knott's is in Buena Park, which is very close to the DLR. There are probably plenty of tourists who are willing to hop down the road from Disney for some bigger thrills, and tourists are the ones with money to spend. Locals like me just milk the season pass for all it's worth and eat sandwiches from home. Then again, Robb just said he heard this from senior management at Knott's, so what would they know? Er...what about Silver Bullet? It's not a forceful one, but it's definitely an inverted B&M.

Short Trip to LA - Recommendations?
itnotfair replied to tommanb182's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think going on Friday is your best bet, if you can swing it. Definitely take advantage of fast passes, which are free because Disney kicks booty. I agree that In 'n' Out is a must. Have a great trip! What I would give to see Disneyland with fresh eyes! -
OMG, I remember driving through Pigeon Forge and freaking out at the insane amount of tourist traps all lined up. We ended up passing straight through on our way to Dollywood, but I always wondered what it would be like to spend a day on the strip. Now I know! Also, did you guys pass Ye Old Steakhouse at all? That place is supposed to be awesome.

Thanks for the heads up on the Shadyrest Room's water fountain! A hot day at SFMM can easily lead to dehydration, and I hate paying for a refillable soda cup only pay to store it at every ride.

Yes!! Bombay Blasters are totally unique and awesome fun! How many water slides launch you out a couple feet above the water like that? I've only ever seen that at Wild Rivers. Honestly, I'm surprised they are still around. I figured they'd have gone the way of Rampage at Raging Waters by now. Thanks for the TR!

Ben and Laurice's Quest for Credits

^ Muchas gracias my new buddies! BTW I totally posted on your thread. First of many! Yes! To quote Laurice, "I would eat that!" I think maple is probably an even better flavor to pair with bacon than chocolate! And all on a donut, you say? Awesome. -

I guess we represent most people, as it was plenty for us! However, if they have the same coaster line-up next year, we will probably try some of the stuff we didn't get to this time, like the sky ride, the flume, and the ferris wheel. Maybe we'll buy a jacuzzi! Seriously, what's with fairs and hot tubs? -
Yes! Thunderhead was my first GCI, and still the best in my book! And I'll ride Blazing Fury over Pirates of the Caribbean any day of the week! Thanks for bringing back good memories!

*** THE BEBES *** Rainbow Magicland ITALY TR
itnotfair replied to The Bebes's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hello, Bebes! I'm glad you guys have crowned Tatsu as the king of flyers! I always enjoy its intensity, but I haven't ridden any others to compare it to. As for that type "A" guy in the X2 line...that's my Dad. Not really. Looking forward to your next TR! -
Ben and Laurice's Quest for Credits
itnotfair replied to itnotfair's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello folks and welcome to another trip report with Ben and Laurice! We decided Thursday would be a great day for a trip to the O.C Super fair, and we were right! First, as any coaster aficionado knows, avoid the weekends, avoid the crowds! Also, Thursday was $1 ride day from 3:00 to 7:00. That meant we could spend more money on food! This place was huge, so prepare yourself for an onslaught of photos and captions! I feel I've only scratched the surface of this fair. It would take a couple trips and a fat wallet to do everything here. Regardless, we had a lot of fun, and got three new credits out of the deal! Thanks for reading! Here's a parting shot of my favorite ride of the day sporting some bling. This 3D spectacle was hilarious. We were cracking up the whole time! Plus, it has some kick-ass surprise cameos! Nearing the end of our trip, we decided to check out Weird Al's giant head of sand. I learned something about myself in this picture. But I forgot. #4 Battered potatoes. I hope there's a shelter nearby for these poor little buggers. Ba dum bum bum! #3 - Zuccini Weeni's! Not Elissa-approved to be sure, but quite innovative, and it rhymes! #2 - Geodes. Not technically a food, but if I could eat rocks, I would totally eat these little hollow beauties. Next segment, foods we didn't try, but that we found picture-worthy. #1 - Fried frog legs. It arrived in a cold little take-out box, and it changed our lives forever. Say no more! After a brief scuffle over the last bite, we decided to move on to another fairground favorite... Laurice is making eyes at my Snickers! Oh what a tangled web we weave... Oh deep-fried Snickers, how I love thee... Time for some fried delights! Can I just...get something to wash it down... You were delicious! Very tasty, but a little tough. Actually the ribs we had at SFDK were more tender. But the coleslaw was amazing! Okay, its time for some serious fair vittles. Hey there, big fellah. And to round out the list, no pun intended, #4 - Evolution. I'll stop the list here, but there are myriads of pukey rides available. #3 - Speed #2 - The Zipper Next segment: Rides I wouldn't ride if you kidnapped my family. #1 - Tango Not a credit. By the fourth circuit (yes, 4 times around!) we were truly frightened of the helix. Truly! Frightened! This coaster had a helix of death! Last credit of the day. We kind of whored-out a bit. We loved the Star Flyer, and we were only moderately dizzy afterwards. This is what its like to ride a Star Flyer, and to have small feet. This was our first Star Flyer, and we had a blast! Obligatory nerd shot. Sorry it isn't grainy and poorly lit, I know you guys like that stuff. Wait a sec, go back one. Is that a Star Flyer in the background I see?? Look, the car is facing forwards! Cuh-razy! This was a fun coaster, but it has some painful turns at the end. Be warned! Next credit! This ride has an acceptable amount of spinning. In fact, I think it spun exactly 180 degrees. Once. Laurice says "We got to sit in the back, cause our timing is impeccable!" Today it only coast 2 tickets! Definitely worth it to come on Thursday. This was a fun coaster! A little uncomfortable, but the restraints were negligible, and there were some nice pops of airtime! The palm tree in the face hurt a little, though. First ride of the day! There is Le Grande Wheel. Its a biggun. At this point in my picture taking frenzy, Laurice suggested that we enter the fair...maybe ride some stuff...eat something... Say hello to the HiMiler and its train. Man, I wish I had a hobby that got me excited. Life is sooo boring. -

Woohoo! I got a comment from the Bebes! Let me just check off that goal from my list... You guys have great TR's, so thanks for the kind words! Tomorrow, I'll be posting a bunch of pictures from today's O.C. Super Fair trip. Please stay posted! On a side note, I'd like to merge my two TR's and the one I'll post tomorrow into one topic. Can any moderators help me out with that? I don't mind having many threads, but I thought it might be easier to keep it to one. Thanks! -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
itnotfair replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. I've been telling some of the people I work with about TS:TR at SFMM, and when I explain that its a wooden coaster, the responses I've gotten the most are: "They still make those?" or, "...and its a new coaster??" Apparently, wood=old and steel=new in the minds of most people. 2. Also, I was at SFMM last week and I saw a little kid run after his Mom after staring at Tatsu for a while, yelling "Mom, I saw Silver Bullet!" Since it was a little kid, I let it slide...this time. 3. On the same trip, as I waited for Riddler, I was talking to some kids who hadn't ridden X2. I was explaining the general idea of the ride, and I guess I called it "X" too many times for one eavesdropper, who cut in rudely, "It's called X2!" I just stared at him until he went away. 4. Finally, as I was about to ride Jetstream, this couple with their very young baby asked if they could hold him when they went on the ride, and the ride op said yes! Sure enough, they took their infant onto the flume ride. Am I crazy? That seems pretty irresponsible on both ends, park and parents.
