  1. ^^ or sticking on the top of the top hat.
  2. This is the last park I have to complete but no matter what I try no guests will enter the park. Has anyone else had this problem or have any tips on how to rectify the problem? Thanks in advance.
  3. So is Rollercoaster now closed down permanently? It was always the poorest of the 3 woodies to be fair. Space Invader would be no great loss either although BPB is needing a new big attraction to get me back down there.
  4. Thanks for all the advice - I hadn't planned to start a cyber squabble! I think my plan B will be put in place - go to Soak City and enjoy the sun (we don't get any of that in Scotland) then hit the park after 4pm and get round everything. May even try to persuade my fiancee to try some of it. The other attraction is the park at night as most parks in the UK shut before dark. Really want to try Xcelerator but have horrible feeling it will be down when I'm there - it doesn't sound the most reliable.
  5. Of my two floorless its 1) Kraken 2) Scream. I rated both 9/10 tho.
  6. Was is the 'Bomb Bay' slide at Wet n' Wild Orlando? www.wetnwildorlando.com/Files/Press/BombBay.jpg Bomb Bay is the only one I've ever chickened out of. Went on its neighbour which has the same drop but there was something about the noise it made and the lack of control that stopped me going on it.
  7. I'm 35 and my first coaster was the Coca-Cola Roller at the Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988 aged 14. It was a Boomerang and was only there for the summer. I rode it 16 tmes over that summer and after that I was hooked.
  8. ^Thanks Is it really that bad? I really want to try Xcelerator and Silver Bullet ( I love inverts and also Knocked Up!) and the Boomerang brings back nostalgic memories of my first ever coaster in Glasgow. I did SFMM last year and although I love it and I would like to try TS:TR and Deja Vu (which was broken last year ) it's a hassle for me to get to. DL doesn't really appeal as I have done the whole of WDW in Florida. I just fancy a new challenge.
  9. ^Cheers. I'll aim to get in there for about 4 then.
  10. Can I ask some slightly different advice? Heading over to So Cal for second year in a row in August. Was at SFMM last year but fancy KBF this year for a change and cos it is closer. My fiancee doesn't like theme parks so have 2 options - A) Go on my own first thing in the morning, get round the park then head home earlier or B) Go to Soak City for the day then hit the park at night so she can go with the friends we are with and I can get on the rides then. Questions - 1) Is it better at KBF first thing in morning or late at night? 2) If going at night what time do I need to get in the park to get round it all? 3) Will all the rides still be running at night? Will be my one and only trip there so want to get round it all.
  11. ^ Seems I'm really up to date. I'm off to see the Titanic arriving.
  12. Without opening old wounds what happened to hypersonic?
  13. Love the way it heads back through the back of the stand.
  14. Whatever happened to the Arrow Boomerang coaster there?
  15. Here's a report from the local newspaper from June 20 (not online). What a lame ride to get stuck on. "Thrill-seekers at a theme park in Lanarkshire had to be rescued by firefighters at the top of a roller coaster. High winds forced an emergency breaking system to kick in on the Tornado ride - leaving 6 people stuck at the top for almost an hour as staff called in the emergency services. The Evening Times spoke to John Wheatley College employee Nancy Stevenson, 38, as she remained 40ft up awaiting rescue. Nancy who was on a work day out said "I'm terrified of heights. We've been here for almost an hour. The fire brigade are here but we are waiting on a lift to get us down." Fire crews did eventually manage to rescue the unfortunate ride-goers. With her feet firmly on the ground Nancy said "I'm still in shock. The fire brigade were brillliant but I'm never going on a ride like that again." An M&D's spokeswoman said "No passengers were injured and the ride will remain closed until allsafety checks have been completed". In 2006 a man was trapped upside down at M & D's for an hour when a ride jammed and in 2005 six people including a 10 year old boy were stuck 65ft up in the air on a ride.
  16. Went to Tivoli a couple of winters ago. Daemenon is good fun but less so when there is driving rain and snow in your face.
  17. Just booked up for my second consecutive year in California. Got round all of SFMM last year in a day (except Deja Vu which was not working). Thinking of KBF this year but is TS:TR worth making the return trip for? (I can only get away with one park)
  18. There was also a show based in Blackpool which had her from Most Haunted in it.
  19. Apologies if this has been posted before but I was watching Beverly Hills Cop III and wondered where 'Wonder World' actually was. I know Alien Attack was the old Earthquake at Universal Studios but didn't recognise the rest of it. I'm sure someone knows. Also where was the Lost Boys filmed? I know that Rollercoaster (obviously) and Final Destination 3 featured parks but what other parks have appeared on the big screen?
  20. I had totally missed the demise of this park and its very sad to see it being torn apart. The 'Chewits' Log Flume did make me laugh tho.
  21. Surprised it wasn't busier for its last day. Seeing the old brochures made me remember my trip there in 1986 when it was still the big thrill. I chickened out of going on it that day!
  22. How the hell can you lose a leg on the corkscrew? Nemesis maybe but not the corkscrew. And how did he get home?
  23. When I was on Goliath at SFMM some mad woman in her 50s who looked like a Woodstock reject was almost standing up on the lift hill. I was bricking it cos if she fell she was hitting me first. Why can't people just ride them normally?
