  1. I really enjoyed Scream when I was there. As has been said already why complain about a ride you don't need to stand in a huge line for? In any other park it would be one of the main attractions imo.
  2. Ah - some happy memories of BPB. Really need to get back there soon. Incidentally I fully approve of your love of Foamburst - one of the few things the UK has excelled at!
  3. Given the animated discussion on the UK trip about 13 do AT know what they are getting themselves in for with some more misplaced PR?
  4. May I join the throngs who loved the water section of RR? Any time I was there it worked fine and was the real fun part imo. I suppose I'd rather have a new coaster right enough.
  5. When I read the thread title I didn't think I had been on many at all but on reading the thread I realised I had been on more than I thought:- Hulk Speed:TR RnR Coaster Xcelerator Montezooma Rita: Queen of Lame Superman The Escape Test Track Of those it has to be Xcelerator. I was literally breathless during it. What a buzz.
  6. Is the "world's first" element really such a big secret that it has to be censored now?
  7. ^ & ^^ It's British TV at it's very worst. Only the coasters make the List Z 'celebrities' worth watching.
  8. I sky+ it, skip through the chat and watch the coasters!
  9. ^ & ^^ thanks. Might get her a spa treatment as well! Sadly she's even less into waterparks.
  10. It's only a matter of time before they simply have a 'ride' where you jump off the tower and that's it.
  11. Thinking of going later in the year. My fiancee isn't into coasters so will be pretty bored. Thinking of staying in the hotel so that she can go there instead. Is the hotel decent value for money?
  12. Put this report in here rather than a fresh thread. A girl was killed yesterday en route to AT on a school trip. Thoughts go out to the family and friends. Link:http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/why-did-they-travel-1.1017562
  13. Been to Blackpool PB on my own and rode Revolution being the only one on the coaster. My fiancee can't do coasters so the last couple of years when I have been over in CA, the first year I went to SFMM myself and the next year to KBF with her but I went on the rides myself. Although I prefer going on rides with friends I can do it myself no problem and as others have said you can then do what you like when you like. I take my ipod for the lines and I am quite happy.
  14. ^Hope he is brave. That would have scared the life out of me aged 6.
  15. It shows what editing can do as the second footage makes it look much better than the gmtv footage - even with the lights on! It's funny that those complaining the most are the British whilst the americans are saying they would come over to try it! Typical British attitude of being over critical on our own product. Alton Towers will never match up with the biggest parks in the US or Europe. Why? Because of the height restrictions. Oblivion is no Sheikra, Air is no Tatsu, Rita is no TTD etc. etc. Nemesis was it's one true triumph and it stands up to most of its competitors. It has to try to be innovative to make up for the lack of height most great rides require. 13 may tempt me down to AT although I would still like to try Thorpe first.
  16. ^there seemed to be a bit of editing in the clip so I'm hoping there may be a bit more to it than was shown. Either way the focus seems to be on the drop element rather than the rest of the ride. Just another legacy of the blasted height restrictions.
  17. I think it looks pretty cool. Hard to tell from the footage about speeds etc. but the drop looks as though it will be worth it. Might need to get there this summer.
  18. Credit where credit's due. If that is indeed the plan then that could be great fun.
  19. ^^if people really paid the extra they should get mental health insurance. ^what concerns me is that it is not going to live up to the hype. Hope I'm proved wrong.
  20. Isn't a 'psychological thrill ride' a ghost train that goes fast?
  21. It is almost becoming boring now.
  22. Someone gets their stomach cut open and it "MIGHT" not be suitable for under 12s?
  23. Wow - you better not blink (or you'll miss it)
  24. Could this be another PR exercise - the ride is too scared to work?
  25. ^Is that world's first problems or generally?
