  1. I too, would say Coaster @ Playland in Vancouver!! Slight edge over Phoenix, due to the insane laterals. (according to RCDB, 68' tall, 67' drop.
  2. Jerking off the control box!!
  3. My bet would be a colored "Scream Tube" enclosing the ride so the neighbors don't complain.
  4. I take it on all the rides with me!! Like what was stated above, wear cargo pants with a button or zipper. My iPhone 3G made it on every coaster in Japan, except Dodonpa and Thunder Dolphin (where they are almost militant about emptying your pockets). My iPhone 4 still goes with me on all rides, either in a pocket, or a belt case. In the USA though, if you're that concerned, put it in a pay l-o-c-k-e-r, but NEVER an open bin or "cubby hole" otherwise, chances are pretty good you'll never see it again. JJ
  5. I seriously think that there are more people in that first picture, than were at Walygator when we went there with TPR a couple of years ago. The place was absolutely deserted!! (Of course the same could be said of Expoland when we rode Orochi later that same year. There *might* have been 10 other people in the park when about 6-7 of us ran out there!)
  6. Filthy, filthy whores!! And what's with Steve NOT drinking?? W. T. F.
  7. That last picture is cool!! Very frame worthy!
  8. Paul Reuben is a turd. First off - When someone like "USA Today" wants an opinion for an article, they usually turn to some sort of media to get their story. Websites can often come off as ONLY fansites, so the next best thing would be print media. Unfortunately, there really are only two print media choices: Park World and Amusement Today. It would not have surprised me if he went to "USA Today" to solicit the story to begin with, as these stories are typically run in early to mid June, when new rides are opened. I have met and/or seen him on many occasions. I have also seen him on the tube numerous times. "abcxyz" is the BEST coaster I've ridden" is his favorite and only opinion. As Elissa said, he fully EXPECTS to be flown out, and put up in hotels, just to say that on camera. There's nothing wrong with that, BUT IIRC, SOB was the "Best coaster in the country" at one point in time. He won't give you an honest opinion, he'll give you what you pay for. I find it ironic that he listed X2 on the list. (My bet is, he hasn't ridden it since the transformation.) During the media day for "X", I don't believe that he was invited (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but talked his way into the event. Around noontime, he decided to take some pictures. He wandered around the barricades, and ended up under the coaster while it was in operation, causing the ride-ops to perform an e-stop. He was escorted from the property by security. (Still not as funny as Christopher Nance, (a local tv reporter) losing one of his $1000 loafers on the first drop, and coming back into the station crying!) I also remember him throwing a hissyfit, when KBF didn't allow him to ride *solo* on Ghostrider on media day. Ditto for Xcellerator. I have heard similar stories from other events from other people. As for the article itself - it's not a bad list, for what it is. Though listing the Beast and Viper might be a stretch. JJ
  9. Thank you for sharing what you found!! Those are very cool pictures!!! JJ
  10. Just like card counters in Vegas - this "rider" (aka: IDIOT) should have their picture posted at the entrance to every amusement park in the world, and denied entry. Idiot. I fully expect cell phone jammers to be installed on this ride shortly.
  11. I can vouch for that. When we were there in April last year, during BraviSEAmo, the ride was open, and a complete walk-on. JJ
  12. Sorry. One more thing was bothering me. You know, if Legoland wasn't on the itinerary, and people wanted to go there so bad... I am 100% confident that Elissa would've helped anyone plan for them to go there on their own. I'm also 100% confident that that would include helping with maps, transportation, lodging and anything associated with a personal side trip. Why am I so confident? Because that's what Elissa does, and she's damn good at it!! And anyone that thinks I'm just kissing Elissa's , can kiss mine as well. Because I'm not. I've done my fair share of trips that I've planned on my own. I, for one, can certainly appreciate the hard work that goes into it. The logistics of planning a trip can get tiresome, but to me, they are quite fun. Especially when it works out well. The best part is, I'm the only one who has to appreciate it. I'm just saying that if people don't appreciate the 135% being put out for them, don't be surprised if your trip is only 110% satisfactory!! It's still the best deal anywhere in this genre!! Try doing it on your own sometime. JJ
  13. That I just can't comprehend!! I mean, I can understand riding a tivoli coaster or a wacky worm ONCE for the credit, but Olympia Looping?? ERT is a gift, and a perk of the highest kind! The ONLY time I can remember NOT riding the most I could at an ERT was at Happy Valley Shanghai on Fireball, when I was pretty sick with the flu, yet I still managed about 7 rides during ERT. (If you've seen the video, I look more lethargic than usual!) I can vouch for this! In 2006 when we pulled into Coney Beach, we were stunned!! Awesome! Not only more credits, but something different to experience! Now granted, Coney Beach was a real dump, but we managed to have a really GREAT time!! It was fun, it was funny, it was a culture shock (for some of us), and a total blast!! (except for the "hamburgers! ) Again, I can't comprehend this at all!! Are people going on these trips just for the evening activities as a priority (drinking, sex, etc...), and not the parks/coasters? I just don't get it. You can do all that other crap at home!! Many of these places you'd never get to if R&E didn't put in so much hard work. I can't imagine even asking a park to stay open for people 3 hrs after they close, just to be open for a private group. Yeah, I could understand an hour before they open, or the hour after they close - but 3 hours?? For participants to not even acknowledge that - Well, that is just damn ungrateful!! I can understand the Alvey's frustration. Have any of these people tried to plan a trip of a week or more on their own?? Do they realize the difficulties in just getting to the parks, much less working to get ERT, meals, behind the scene tours, nightly accommodations, schedule stops for drivers, additional extras before and after a trip, even helping with flights, and a big-ass ETC...??? And don't forget - they're doing that for 40-50 people!! Maybe they should try doing that stuff on their own first. I just hope you people didn't screw it up for the rest of us that may be going on future trips. JJ
  14. Being that Craig remembered anything, seems to be a "plus" in my book!!
  15. I remember when we were there in '07 and saw that ride. I remember looking at it and thinking it was a different type of skyscraper, which was cool. This is really, really sad.
  16. Ya know, when you put it like that - it sounds like a bad movie franchise!!
  17. Good update! Lots of familiar faces. When did Morgan get put on the poster?
