  1. I am without a doubt one of the biggest Intamin fan boy on this thread. I LOVE them with RoS/Bizarro in my home park. What I find interesting and concerning is that Intamin has no new rides on the books for 2013, AND after building the #1 coaster in the world (MF) and certainly the most iconic, CF has migrated to B&M. Let's be honest. When was the last flawless Intamin coaster installation, with minimal "issues" during the first year of operation like B&M? I thought it was going to be Skyrush, because it really operated well this year. But clearly that isn't the case....
  2. Completely agree - Can't wait for STITP
  3. Thanks for the response Eddie. Yeah I saw it from some random poster and assumed he heard it from the Dippin Dots guy.
  4. My question was more to Eddie about his "Rash Speculation" comment asking what else he heard/read. All I've seen is the fact the ride was on the HPITD operating ride list under Scare Rush, and is now off the list as of yesterday.
  5. Rash speculation? What did you see?
  6. Skyrush has been taken off the Hersheypark in the Dark operating ride list, so we can assume it is down for the rest of the year, since it was on the list last week.
  7. It didn't take them long to remove PP - NICE ..
  8. Do you have a source, because the official site ABC7 isn't listing anything - http://search.abclocal.go.com/search/client?q=Six+Flags+Hurricane+Harbor+valencia&st=kabc&time=Recent&rType=article,video,photogallery,bio,other
  9. And let's not forget thunder and lightning from storms that could easily form over 3 hours.
  10. Great pics - thanks for sharing
  11. I agree the drop and end are pretty fun, but the lift?
  12. I'm with ya Johnny, Gatekeeper is perfect for the park and GP. Given all the comments so far, I don't think enthusiasts will ever be happy and relish in complaining. I'm going to bring some cheese to the opening for all the whiners. None of us have ridden the ride yet, but many are predicting it will be forceless. (how?) And then when rides like Skyrush open and produce extreme forces with lap bars, people complain about how their legs hurt. Every ride is different, every manufacturer is different, and parks do their best to deliver to their customers. Sure problems occur and the great parks address them asap. Gatekeeper is made by B&M so it will be a capacity monster and reliable, while it's design will "wow" the GP and really make a powerful statement at the front gate. I for one am thrilled with the new management and believe they are making all the right decisions moving forward.
  13. I live in Boston and drive to NYC all the time. On a Saturday, especially in the morning you shouldn't have any trouble going over the GWB over the NJTPK, then down to exit 7A. Of course, if the President is in town or there is some huge race/parade, avoiding the GWB is best, but I'm not aware of anything that should cause a problem. Taking the Tappan is a decent alternative, but it's going to add at least 30 minutes to your travel time.
  14. They had a roof fire, caused by some construction currently being done. It is now out, and outside of smoke and soot the damage is minimal.
  15. The only complaints I heard was GP saying the noodles were too tight. With the nature of the hydraulics, the noodle is going to depress further down on the pullout after the first drop. It happened to me every time. I don't see it as a problem, just apart of the ride. The squishier noodles provide some conformablility to the rider's legs, but not too much. Its my personal opinion that Hershey sure does have a real winner on their hands, but not one that all people will enjoy. With the ride's nature will come complaints. Like i said above, it's very intense. ^I doubt that the ride can get a softer noodle without sacrificing safety (disclaimer: only my opinion.) Well, the new restraints are much softer and the complaints have reduced significantly, thanks to Hershey and Intamin working quickly and seamlessly. I don't think the problem is totally solved, but certainly moving in the right direction, while you can also get an update on Screamscape.
  16. I wouldn't jump to assume the restraints are fixed once and for all. They are much better, but I'm hearing there are still some complaints. It's too early to tell for sure, but I think we should all thank Intamin and Hershey for moving as fast as they did to solve for the issue.
  17. Skyrush is running two trains today. One with the old restraint, and the other with the new restraint which is a thicker and softer lap bar. I would suspect the other train will get converted asap.
  18. That's true, but the first three weeks of August historically are the busiest time of the Summer season.
  19. Those pictures are already online. They look great and a bit similar to Skyrush (yes).
  20. Right on point Chris - AND - the Skyrush lap bars are being reconfigured as we speak.
  21. Adavis, to clear up your post regarding the EMS at Skyrush. Yes, EMS was called because a female felt light headed while waiting in the queue. She did not ride Skyrush, and the EMS was there for a total of 5 minutes and have not returned. The ride is operating fine, and provides an amazing airtime experience. We have seen Hershey executives in the station observing the riders getting off, so they are keeping a close eye on the rider experience.
  22. Laura is still there and did take "charge" at Skyrush over the past weekend bringing capacity from 600 to over 1k/hr with her hands on approach. I am sure she'll get things on track (pun intended) in short order.
