  1. Just now saw the news about the simpsons area. I think I'm gonna climax. Hopefully I won't end up a political prisoner like homer did at "Duff Gardens" “But, Marge, I was a political prisoner.” – Homer “How were you a political prisoner?” – Marge “I kicked a giant mouse in the butt! Do I have to draw you a diagram?” – Homer
  2. My first visit to HW coming up on Tuesday. Super excited. Hope the park isn't too busy.
  3. Sry to hear that. TTD opened just before 5PM and we were able to get a ride in after about a 30 minute wait. The big surprise of the day was the shortness of Gatekeeper's wait. Less than 15 minutes for FRONT ROW. Our first ride in the front row and its awesome having nothing but air in front, below, and above you. Not sure if I like the front or back better.... both are good experiences. The only disappointment was Maverick, which managed to go down both times we were in line for it, and seemed to be up and down all day.
  4. i'll be there! forecast looks a little more promising for tomorrow than it had for today, although glad to hear you got plenty of rides in.
  5. DAMN. Do you remember what some of the posted waits were for non-fastlane people? Was everything like over an hour?
  6. Happy 6th Birthday Maverick! I still have my first rider t-shirt. Was thinking about going today, but then I came to my senses and realized it's a holiday weekend. Judging by the dragster cam, that parking lot is FULL.
  7. Ok, I did some digging. If you'd like some info on the types of rides/attractions they plan on having, have a look through this document: http://www.gamenationparks.com/files/2013/5458/9822/GN_The_Vision.pdf however, there is no word yet on the actual technology they will utilize for the "video game" aspect.
  8. Thought it was a good show, and some interesting stuff.
  9. @markysharky17 - On saturday the park will likely be busy, but sunday should not be busy at all - moderate at best. Perhaps use saturday as a day to ride coasters that don't usually have a long wait, like blue streak, gemini, iron dragon, CCMR, and Magnum. Sunday will be a better day to snag a ride on MF, TTD, GK, Maverick, and Raptor. As far as lines, I'd say an hour or more on saturday for the top-tier coasters (possibly 45 mins, but around 15 mins for most everything else). On Sunday, you should have a wait of 30 mins or less for everything, except possibly gatekeeper. Have fun!
  10. A combination of Theme Parks and video Games? Two big interests of mine, but I don't see this working. Its kind of like putting ice cream on top of Pizza. Both good things but they shouldn't go together. they offer completely different experiences.
  11. I totally want to take this article and shove it up the ass of all the GP douchebags who keep bitching about CP's $90 fastlane (and other park's systems as well). It could always be worse.... as this article clearly shows.
  12. CP just updated their blog with links to the different media covering gatekeeper media day. https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/The-Reviews-Are-In
  13. Yes, there are lockrs next to gatekeeper. I also noticed this, and the cleveland news had virtually nothing. Seems like only the toledo stations had coverage of the event.
  14. Just got back from Sandusky. Totaled 6 laps on GK today. That is on the low end, as some report they got upwards of 30. Overall, a wonderful addition to the park's collection. Since its all still new to me, I am not sure yet where I rank it overall among CP coasters. Maggie and MF are my #1 and 2, so probably somewhere after that, in a battle between it and TTD and Maverick. Left 7th row was my favorite of the seats I had a spin on today. Going into that twist and first drop from the back is amazing. Some of the other drops and rolls are great, especially the keyholes. And as b&m mentioned, you get floater air on the camelback. In regards to the restraints (and I am on the big and tall side), during the ride itself I have no problems with them. However, after going through the final brake run, and returning to the station, the vest part of the restraint is always pushed so far down that it starts to push hard against my collarbone. Not agonizing pain, but not super pleasant either. Since its only when returning to the station at the end of the ride, I can live with it. Perhaps this type of vest restraint pressing down against you is what sharktums was referring to. I should also mention that I noticed virtually no difference between row 4 (the big boy seats) and the other rows. Maybe you have to be larger than me to notice. I love the new entrance to the park. All modern and refreshed. It actually looks a lot like entering a sports arena rather than an amusement park. Also.... we got stuck on MF's lift hill for 30 minutes today! But we got a bonus ride out of it. Crazy times! Ride counts: Gatekeeper - 6 (3 each right and left, IIRC). Raptor - 2. Millennium Force - 3.
  15. I've gotten three rides on gatekeeper so far. Really fun, intense ride. I love the feeling of twisting into the first drop. as Robb said, the keyhole twists are awesom I think cp has a winner to go with their collectio
  16. On my way to sandusky now. Been hearing some nice early reports.
  17. what... you rode it before 1am last night?
  18. David, your TR has gotten props from Kennywood on their facebook page. You need to go back and ride Phantom's Revenge. Insanely great ride with the airtime.
  19. I would prefer the same, but Maverick is still a fun ride even when not having your hands up the whole time. There was a certain ride that taught me you can't always keep your hands up the whole time while riding every single coaster. It was the Son of Beast. Just thinking about it still makes me hurt.
  20. Sorry if already asked, but is there any word on system requirements yet? I dont exactly have a beast of a gaming machine. Anyway, this looks awesome.
