  1. ^ Crowds on the weekdays are incredibly light, you should be able to get plenty of riding in.
  2. Part 3 (The Final Part) (I promise) Day 2 started off with Pesto the Pasta coaster. My favorite pasta is Rigatoni. The ride ops for Tempesto were hauling. Thats one messed up noodle. Surprise ride of the trip. "This is where you line up to ride me you mortals." Red Clam. I love the funky pre-drop on this coaster. Besides the fires, earthquake and sense of peril Pompeii is quite beautiful. As is the entire Italy section of the park. San Marco. Verbolten: "Come for the ride, stay for the Bratwurst." This coasters queue is incredibly themed. My two favorite things. "This photo trip report does not endorse drinking and driving." Spooky. Back through Germany to ride Le Scoot. New Mixtape by Le Scoot featuring Alpengeist. The Rhine River Cruise gave some interesting views of some of the coasters. Especially Apollo's Chariot and Verbolten. I said no drinking and driving!! Now look what you've done! Money Shot. There once was a Dragon here....They killed it. Hope you guys give this trip report "two thumbs up."
  3. Part 2 Its Nessie!! Some monster catchin stuff Here she is now. Nessie doing her thang Really such a beautiful coaster Meh. Whats a trip to Busch Gardens without some beer? The predator show was pretty cool After the predator show we strolled over to Alpie The lair of the beast. Have fun on your ski trip guys!! "I'm a cobra" "Wee-wee, I'm Griffin". Awesomeness "Sploosh" "Come and plummet to your doom on me, Griffin." Stay tuned for part 3 coming soon!!
  4. Okay so I just got back from my two day excursion from the park with my girlfriend. I haven't been to Busch Gardens in 10 years so this was a brand new experience to me. All I could remember from the last visit was that the park was amazing and Apollo's Chariot was one of my favorite rollercoasters. Well this time around was just as awesome, this place really floored me. The rides were great and theming was top notch down to the last little detail. It was just a pleasure walking around the park with its beautiful landscaping and good food selection. The thing I think I loved most about Busch Gardens Williamsburg was how every coaster seems to be placed perfectly in its area (including Tempesto). The coasters weave in, out, over and under pathways seamlessly. I remember why I loved this place so much after this weekend and definitely could call it my favorite park. Now on to the rides: LochNess Monster (3x) - I love me some Arrow Looper goodness. This coaster is a classic and for good reason, it still delivers a top notch ride. Smooth for its age (and for being an Arrow), it also delivers great airtime on the first drop and the tunnel is awesome as well. I love how photogenic the coaster is and pictures don't even do it justice until you see it in person. 8/10 Europe In the Air (1x) - I thought I was going to vomit with the cabin rocking back an fourth and the shaky screen. I suggest to try it once but it definitely isn't anything notable. I liked Corkscrew Hill better when it was there. 4/10 Alpengeist (2x) - Inverts are my favorite design from B&M and I'm proud to say I've ridden two of the better ones with Montu and Alpengeist. First day we rode it in the back row and it was intense as well as disorienting. This is another ride where pictures don't do it justice. This ride is absolutely massive as well as beautiful, definitely my favorite looking Invert. The second day we rode first row and I was really blown away. The front row really enhances the speed of the ride, my favorite part has to be the first Immelmann inversion where there is a near miss with the themed rocks and snow. Flying through the sheds was pretty damn cool as well. 9/10 Griffin (2x) - If Inverts are my favorite design from B&M than Dive Machines are a close second. I've been on both Shiekra and Griffin now and I can say both as amazing. I don't understand how some see this as a gimmick coaster because this thing delivers every time. I do not get tired of that holding brake before the first drop cause it just adds to the experience. These rides are intense and forceful so A+ in my book. I also love how Griffin weaves in an out of France. Flying under that bridge after the first drop is breathtaking. 10/10 Tempesto (1x) - This was my first go around on a newer generation Premier coaster. For all the complaints with how the ride was going to fit into the park, I for one thought it fit in fine and looked great. I rode in the back and I have to say this thing was crazy forceful but the ride felt a bit weird to me. Maybe I was expecting more airtime? It felt to me that the ride delivered a lot of positive forces and I was being pressed into my seat the whole ride. I still enjoyed it and wish I could have gave it another go around but the line was too long at that point since we hit Tempesto first thing in the morning the second day. 8/10 Roman Rapids (1x) - Fun rapids ride that left us a "good" amount of wet. Meaning that it was refreshing and we weren't absolutely drenched. 7/10 Trade Wind (1x) - I haven't been on a Himalaya in a long time before this....And that seems to be a mistake cause this thing kicked ass. I was being thrown around the entire time. Me and my girlfriend couldn't stop laughing the entire ride. 8/10 Apollo's Chariot (3x) - I'll start this ride review off with a "Hell Yes". Apollo's Chariot didn't open with the park our second day there so I was writhing in anticipation until the test runs were over. This coaster is still the same beast I remember it as. The back row delivers some rare B&M ejector air which I suggest everyone should experience at least once. I really could go on about this coaster all day but I won't cause I have the rest of this TR to write. 10/10 Verbolten (2x) - The surprise coaster of the trip. I honestly did not know what to expect for the ride that was replacing the legendary Big Bad Wolf. It was weird going there and not seeing that dark red track dangling over the Rhine. I will say after riding Verboten that it is a worthy replacement. This thing is insane, the launch into the pitch black show building was sick. The theming that simulates the trip through the Black Forest was well done too. The drop section of the ride was a new experience to me and took my surprise which I enjoyed very much. Of course we can't forget the well done finale featuring the drop over the Rhine. 9/10 DarkCastle (1x) - This dark ride opened the year of my last visit which was in 05. It still is a solid dark ride but I can say it has aged a tiny bit. Very fun though 7/10 Le Scoot (1x) - Our longest wait of the day, we didn't mind though as it is a well themed little log flume. 7/10 Escape From Pompeii (1x) - Haven't seen a chute the chutes this well themed outside of Jurassic Park the Ride. The fire effects are still as cool as ever. Could get a bit more wet though (I know the original problem with this ride pertaining to the wave it used to make). 8/10 Mach Tower (1x) - Ride was operating on and off all day and we were lucky enough to catch it at a point where it was operating. It provides an amazing view of the park and that alone is enough for a ride on it. The drop was considerable as well. 9/10 This view pulling into the parking lot brought a smile to my face. Being greeted by Apollo's Chariot and Tempesto from the parking lot. Busch Gardens Logo outside the gate Some festive landscaping for their 40th anniversary celebration. From the front gate it is a quick walk through England to the other countries. First up was Scotland where you are greeted by these two gentlemen. They seemed to embellish being in the center of everything. Oh they had Clydesdales too. Clydesdale Ft. Sheep Some sort of yellow beast snaking its way through the canopy.
  5. Boulder Dash has never really been a "smooth ride", when you are traveling at that speed from the start to finish of a ride you can expect it to be a bit rough in some spots. If it bothers you that much then don't ride it. Coasters are supposed to be ridden for fun, not to complain.
  6. ^ Thanks. I'm really excited to finally be getting back on Apollo's Chariot, LNM and Alpenegeist ,along with 3 solid new credits. I haven't been since 2005.
  7. I'm heading down this weekend for a Sunday evening/Monday trip. What is the bag policy at the park?
  8. Thats exactly how I felt. Give it another chance this season, I was left speechless. Couldn't believe it was the same ride.
  9. Genx24 and I were bored this afternoon so we decided to make a short visit to Luna Park for a lap on Thunderbolt and Cyclone since we only live 15 minutes away. The place was packed with people which isn't hard to believe seeing that it is an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. On to the rides: Thunderbolt: I've only ridden this coaster once which was last season when it first opened. I have to say I was quite underwhelmed with the ride last year. Although it had great airtime on the first drop and the return hills, it was rough and left much to be desired. It was disappointing wondering "what could have been with this coaster." That time I rode in the last row, this time I was able to ride in the front. I can say that this time around the ride left me stunned, laughing and wanting more. Padding was added to the headrest and the ride ran much smoother on top of that. Maybe it needed a year to be broken in because this thing was hauling today. From the first drop to the break run it did not let up. Now was it butter smooth? No not by any stretch of the imagination, but it was extremely re-ridable. The airtime on the hills and hang time on the inversions were absolutely insane. Im pleased knowing that we have a potential gem on our hands if this thing keeps running like this. My opinion has done a complete turnaround. 8/10 There is also a large lot next to Thunderbolt that is under construction. Anybody know what this is? My guess is more parking, which wouldn't be a bad idea in my opinion. Cyclone: What can I say? This thing is a classic and if it's possible it is actually running better than I could ever remember. GCI has done even more re-tracking in the off season. The coaster was running incredibly, very smooth with ejector air. Thats a winning combination to me. 10/10 Now on to the Photo's: Starting the photos off with a mandatory Nathan's shot. (I see you Joey Chestnut) First up was the Thunderbolt. I thought I knew to expect the second time around but boy was I wrong. The Loop was pretty damn forceful heading into it with some great hang time at the top. One of the "OMFG" ejector airtime hills on the way back to the station. Seriously, those flimsy shoulder restraints make this part of the ride 100x more terrifying. Some nice Signage. Our chariot awaits us. On our walk from Thunderbolt to Cyclone we noticed this huge construction lot next to the Thunderbolt. Anyone have any idea what this is? My guess is some much needed parking space, but who knows? Brooklyn's Finest Classic Trains. I liken the interior to an old fashioned couch. Some of the new re-tracking by GCI. Until next time folks.
  10. I forgot to mention Thunder Canyon in my report. The ops were painstakingly slow and they were stacking 4 boats at a time. Besides that it is a great rapids ride. We was so wet afterwards we were ringing out our socks an shirt on the bench afterwards.
  11. Made a trip out to the park yesterday with Genx24 and another friend. Needless to say it was a typical Dorney day meaning there was not a real waiting line to be found in the entire park. Our two longest waits were Wild Mouse and Thunder Canyon which were both around 15-20 min respectively. I love Dorney in the sense for what it is, a small local park that does great business with the general public which doesn't expect much of anything. On the other hand, the place is completely outdated and needs a new custom coaster to shake things up (I know I'm beat a dead horse). Now on to the rides: 1.) Stinger (2x) - The ride ran the entire day without a problem, which came as a surprise to us. We hadn't gotten the credit yet so we headed there first once we arrived. I have to say I was very pleased. As a person who is quite fond of Vekoma torture devices this thing was smooth for the most part and forceful. 2.) Possessed (2x) - Walked on twice, once towards the front and other towards the back. Same old awesome forceful self. 3.) Steel Force (2x) - Rode this in the front and back as well. What can I say? I say the same thing every time I've ridden this coaster in the past 5 years....It isn't a bad ride by any stretch of the imagination it is just underwhelming and outdated. 4.) Thunder Creek Mountain (1x) - I love this log flume, it is always a good time riding with friends and it gets you the perfect amount of wet. 5.) Demon Drop (1x) - It is still my favorite Drop Tower of all time. Huge fan of Intamin 1st generation towers. This thing makes me miss Stuntman's Freefall more and more. 6.) ThunderHawk (1x) - Fun for what it is, a rough, trimmed, old woodie. I did catch massive airtime in the back row though. 7.) Hydra (2x) - I feel as if I am one of the few who like this minnie floorless. The layout is funky and the first drop is underrated, sure it has a rattle but it has had that since it opened. 8. Wild Mouse (1x) - Your standard mouse. 9. Talon (2x) - My favorite ride in the park and one of my favorite Inverted coasters. Everything about this ride is positive. No wait, butter smooth and forceful. It doesn't let up form start to finish. 10. Whip (1x) - Your classic awesome flat ride. Overall we had an awesome day at the park as usual. I just wish something new was headed its way coaster wise.
  12. Cobra's Curse looks incredible. I'm glad they are adding something else to the Egypt area of the park as it was kind of dead sans Montu.
  13. Are there any twilight tickets offered at Busch or should I just purchase the fun card for a 2 day trip? If so are there any discounts for the fun card?
  14. Thanks... I am beyond excited to be finally heading back to this spectacular park.
  15. I'm heading down to the park for the first time in 11 years at the end of June on a Monday. How are crowds then and should I head to Tempesto at opening due to lines?
  16. This is a bit off topic but if this new addition happens to be a coaster, I hope the next addition after that is some sort of water ride. The park desperately needs a new one with the Log Flume and Congo Rapids being horribly outdated. I mean, I would love even a refurbishment of both rides.
  17. Wow this is simply amazing news. I'm onboard with the Marvel area being rethemed to Mario. The Hulk could be themed to a Pirahana plant seeing that the coaster is green and gets launched out of a tunnel.
  18. Can someone answer this question? I've been wondering about this for a while too. Last I heard it was still in storage. I could be wrong though, even that was awhile ago. As for a new coaster, I would like something else besides a B&M to shake it up. That being said, I'd accept a launched wing coaster from them.
  19. Any chance that this could be a highly themed Mack Water coaster or no due to Journey To Atlantis already being in Florida? Just a thought.
  20. I can't see this being anything Intamin since all the trouble that Busch went through with Falcon's Fury. If this is a B&M hyper I hope they spice it up a bit instead of the typical boring designs we've seen in recent years. Maybe some new elements.
  21. Yeah? I think I could see a Mack coaster. We'll see! I would like to see a Mack hyper in the U.S. That would be pretty cool.
  22. Also Seaworld always does a great job with themeing their coasters. Maybe they'll make an interactive queue line with an animal exhibit just like what they did with Manta.
  23. Okay so I have a few things I'd like to say about this: - This is awesome - I would have to think this is going to be a B&M - Im thinking of a name along the lines of Barracuda - I wonder what this means for BGT in 2016
