  1. As far as I understand we are free to roam the park as we chose. I believe everything is optional, except maybe meeting in a designated area while the park clears out at closing, this is what happened at SFDK for evening ERT. I know the lunch and park presentation will be at designated times and if you aren't there, you miss out.
  2. It depends on which type of lock-er you are looking at using. If you are planning to rent an all day lock-er it might not be a bad idea to bring a back pack with sunscreen, sun glasses, water, and a change of clothes. My only concern with all day lockers is that I don't know if they are available during morning or night ERT. I assume you would have to return the key to the lock-er before the park closes at it's regular time, because I doubt they will staff the lock-er rentals. I don't know how SFMM does all day lock-ers. The $1 per ride/hour lock-ers can add up really fast. Every time you ride you have to spend another $1 for a lock-er. If you're only planning to ride a few coasters, this may be cheaper than an all day lock-er. I also don't know if we will be required to use the $1 lock-ers during ERT or if we will even have the option to use them... I'm planning to bring only what will fit in my cargo shorts. I can fit a water bottle, a camera, my cell phone, my car keys, and my wallet without any problem. I use the wrist straps from my Wii controllers to make sure my phone and car keys don't fall out of my pocket. As I mentioned above: I carry my small camera in my pocket, either a zippered pocket or a pocket with a button I can wrap the wrist strap around. I've never had any problems from a park for doing this and it usually isn't too uncomfortable when I'm riding. At Knott's Berry Farm I'll be bringing a back pack, since they have cubbyholes in the station for that kind of stuff.
  3. According to this forcast: http://www.accuweather.com/us/ca/valencia/91354/forecast-details.asp?fday=6 The rain is supposed to be on Sunday. I hope it does hold off until Sunday, because SFMM wouldn't be very fun in consistent rain, but I think there would be more to do in the rain at Knott's...
  4. ^I have a feeling most people at WCB will be doing that. I don't know if I will, but it does make sense to wait for it then rather than later in the day...
  5. It just doesn't seem like there are a lot of us member from this area. I know a few members in Nor. Cal. but we're really spread out. A lot of people in Nor. Cal. who like roller coasters and theme parks are not enthusiasts and would not even consider being a member on an internet forum. I hope this Bay Area event happens. Bay Area Bash was so much fun last year.
  6. I would use the 8-cars trainer to give you basically unlimited money. This would let you build what ever you want, when you want.
  7. Hitting up both parks in the same weekend is the best way to experience both parks, especially when there's ERT involved! Depending on which way you go, there are several hotels/motels in between SFDK and CGA. Last year I drove almost all the way to CGA, after the day at SFDK, and stayed at a Motel 6 right off the freeway. It worked out perfectly, I had plenty of time in the morning to take a shower and eat breakfast and I was still the first person waiting in line to get into the parking lot at CGA.
  8. I would be interested if I can get the time off at work. Unfortunately I'm most likely loosing my vacation days in May, when my company gets bought out, which means I won't get paid when I take days off...
  9. Here are my guesses. There are a couple I'm not sure about... 10. My plans for 2011: Friday March 18 (Day before WCB): I'm leaving my house at 4am and making the 6-7 hour drive down to So. Cal. I'll be going straight to Universal Studios Hollywood. I've never been there, but I've always wanted to go. I'll get 5-6 hours in the park, they close at 6pm that day... Saturday and Sunday March 19 and 20: My first ever WCB! I can't wait for it. Bay Area Bash last year was a nice preview event for what WCB will be like. I'm sure I'll make a couple of trips to SFDK to ride SkyScreamer when it opens.
  11. ^That's exactly what I was thinking. Medusa is actually hard to get good photos of, because you can only get so close to most of the layout. You should be able to get some awesome "new" shots of Medusa's from the new area.
  12. ^Yes (sort of), you will get an email with more details for the event, which is only sent to people who have tickets to WCB. EDIT: I don't know why this double posted...

  14. I would suggest that you go on Tatsu first, if it's open for ERT. It's such a great experience flying around the top of the mountain. If Tatsu isn't open, I would go on whatever coaster you walk by first. Just get out there and start riding!
  15. No. This is clearly stated in the first post of this thread.
  16. I was going to post the same thing about the 3D/4D theater... You are correct. The very long switch back in Big Spin's queue line was the old station for Zonga, minus the air gates. Another hidden treasure/left over at SFDK is the water ski stadium that also housed the Batman stunt show for a while. Some of the set pieces from the Batman show were still floating in the water last Spring... Edit: I remembered another left over at SFDK. When you walk along the path next to the lake, in the back of the park, you may see what looks like an old queue line that leads down to the lake. This was an old boat attraction, like paddle boats or row boats. I don't remember which it was. The train used to go between this queue line and the current path, but now the train is gone too...
  17. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom posted this picture on their Facebook page yesterday. The entrance to SkyScreamer is going to go through what used to be a fountain and then was turned into a stage for different performances. So now we know where we'll have to go to get on the ride! 18. ^Agreed! I want to see the Lakeside Cyclone POV.
  19. Voodoo also doesn't have the themeing that Fire Fall has. And Voodoo is a minor attraction at SFDK while Fire Fall is a major attraction at CGA. Plus the differences in programming help to make the two rides stand apart from each other.
  20. ^Grizzly was pretty good when I rode it in the morning during Bay Area Bash last year. It was a lot better then I remembered it being. I still prefer Roar over Grizzly, but that's not much of a comparison since they are fairly different.
  21. I got my XL T-Shirt Grab Bag in the mail today! I love all of the shirts, although the White UK shirt probably won't get worn too much. I don't where white very often. I'm especially happy I got a TPR Logo shirt, because I can't seem to find my other one. Thanks Robb and Elissa! I got 2 UK 2010 shirts (1 White, 1 Grey), 1 Europe 2010, and a TPR Logo shirt! And of course a TPR pen and mints. I noticed a little error on the UK shirts. Anyone else see it?
  22. ^I don't think CGA's Skycoaster would fit there. It's a big Skycoaster. It would be nice to be able to use the area behind Skycoaster though.
  23. That is a quote from the store page for WCB 2011. You will get your event packets and tickets the morning of the event. Robb and Elissa take care of everything for us, besides lodging and transportation of course.
  24. I was noticing how thin it was getting too. It looks like there's still some good stuff in there though. I'm up for my first try in about an hour and a half.
  25. The most obvious song that should be playing in the park during 2005 is "We Like To Party" by the Vengaboys because Mr. Six debuted in 2004 and was around in 2005. Other than that, I don't have any suggestions.
