  1. In my world communication in key in expressing a point of view. Wouldn't more attention be called to an adverse situation by constructively talking about it versus everyone saying nothing at all for a day. On a side note I agree with Matt - I wish lot of a people would just shut up for a day. They should also learn a little common courtesy when it comes to cell phone usage.
  2. My apologies if my tone come off incorrectly. I don't think I came across as rude and I'm not looking for an argument. I'm just trying to help the guy that asked the original question. So I'll try to post in a more civil manner. I assumed the rules were on my season pass (I don't have it with me at work to check). However, even if the policy is not stated on the pass, there are still signs at the parks and regualtions on the website (as Wes has copied for the original poster). You are correct there is no "evil" in carrying a water bottle in the park. I never said it was "evil" just against the rules. I'm just asking that everyone respect the parks and Robb and Elissa (Elissa did already respond in this thread) by following park rules - many of which apparently are not on the back of the season pass.
  3. Generally plastic - I'll reuse them once as trash can liners. If it's only an item or two I forgo the bag. A couple of times I've brought my backpack with me to the supermarket (it's a 3 minute walk from my place).
  4. another vote for Indiana Beach, it is worth the extra money
  5. So what you saying is that you have never read the signs at the front gate or the back of your ticket. Just because people don't get caught that doesn't make it right. Also remember that Robb and Elissa are considered ambassadors at many parks (partners in a symbiotic sort of way) and members on their site shouldn't advise people to break park rules.
  6. That was great stuff.
  7. Yes, one of these days when I leave the dark ages and enter the digital age at home, I will scan photos of my family vacation to WDW from 1972. I also have a lot of great pictures from Circus World during a family vacation in 1978.
  8. If nothing else the name will help sell merchandise at the park. How the hell did I catch Predator on a good day, well a good day for Predator. It was not great but I'd rather ride it over at least a dozen other woodies.
  9. ^^That problem needs to be corrected immediately. Great job with this blast from the past. A shame many of us didn't enjoy some these smaller parks when we were younger.
  10. I did not notice those trampolines last year. I will look for them in June.
  11. Nice captions. Oh I miss Winjas, only a little over 2 months before I return with TPR.
  12. Herc - I respect your opinions even when I don't agree with them. That's great that you volunteer, also. What you learn in volunteerism will be as valuable in the long run as your college degree.
  13. Many of the US parks have the days they are closed to the public for private events listed on their websites.
  14. I lost $29.25 on Texas tea yesterday. I think IGT makes Betti the Yetti
  15. Why do you think it is clear that Jin died? I do not think it is clear. The Oceanic 6 knows they left people behind. That's why Jack wants to go back to the island, to rescue the rest and I think Jin is one of those left behind. My opinion - Sun cries at the grave site because she knows she will never see Jin again. He sacrificed his return (but not his life) so his wife and child would live. Why does Hurley show up at the grave? Not sure, could be an anniversary, he could just be doing it for show since people are still trying to find the island, he could bored with life. He's a multimillionaire with free air travel on Oceanic for life so traveling to Korea is not outside his means. I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just saying it is not clear that Jin is dead.
  16. There were at least a dozen foreigners on the TPR Midwest trip who know of Stricker's Grove. I found it very tough to finally make it to Stricker's Grove for one of their two "OPEN" days. Independence Day usually involved other plans and I also never wanted to be overwhelmed by the summer crowds at the other Ohio parks in August, so I never traveled to Ohio that time of year.
  17. I picked Joe Satriani, but I really liked the work of Steve Stevens back in the 80's.
  18. To be honest, that sounds like a straight out irresponsible policy. It's going against the whole notion that people should be reducing fuel usage. It won't give people an incentive to drive more fuel efficient cars, nor will it encourage responsible usage of what is a finite resource. And at the end of the day, an artificially cheaper price through reduced taxation increases demand, and if demand increases then oil companies increase the price, so it wont really help a whole lot. To be honest, I think a better policy would be to increase the tax on fuel, and use the resulting funds to finance improvements to public transport. Exactly - this is a short term idea to garner votes, not a solution.
  19. Items should be retrieved after the park closes for the day. Patrons should plan accordingly and have footwear that will stay on their feet. sorry Jow!
  20. 4 More Days - Yay! Now I just have to remember what is happened in the last episode.
  21. Gas on the Garden State Parkway was $3.17 a gallon. Since the cheapest I saw at other Jersey stations was $3.25 a gallon, I'm sure the GSP stations will increase prices come Thursday. Maybe Americans will come to there senses with the cars they choose to drive before gas hits $4.50-$5.00/gallon. Ford and GM better get their acts together soon or all Americans will be driving cars from foreign based companies.
  22. Sounds more in my price range than a $6 pretzel. I usually grab a pretzel at SFGAdv but ran into the churro stand before seeing a place selling pretzels. I don't know where this $6 was, but I'll confirm the SFGAdv pretzel prices next week.
  23. ^Agreed, this policy would be ideal for all parks.
  24. Are you renting a car? You should schedule 2 hours from Manhattan because there may be traffic leaving Manhattan. Without traffic it takes about 90 minutes. If you can get tickets from the website for $40, it is probably easy than searching for coupons and saves you the hassle of waiting on line at the park to buy the tickets. If you are driving, there is a convenience store named "WaWa" that will be on the right hand side of the road 1-2 kilometers before you get to the SFGAdv entrance. They have coupons on the counter next to the cashier for $20 off the admission price. Always head to Kingda Ka and El Toro as the first two rides.
