  1. The park's maintenance staff does not save 5 out of every 6 riders who ride outside of the first car. You did the right thing taking the time to ride all three coasters in the first row to save your body.
  2. I really don't know how much free space there will be as rent is going to be exorbitant. I hopefully, but not expecting it.
  3. If only there was a Fast Lane Pass to get refills of sweet tea.
  4. I think prices you quoted for SWSD and SWSA may only be for residents of those states. This restriction might not show up until you proceed to checkout. If I'm wrong, then buy it and do Texas first. I had a 2-year SWSA pass that I let expire about 8 years ago (about $220 at the time) and when I looked into getting it again last year the low price was only available with a Texas ID. The non-resident price was much higher.
  5. Interesting approach to trust humans to not be s**theads and pull their phones our after leaving the station. Interesting to see if this is a test and it'll carry over to Steel Vengeance. I'm personally more in favor of free fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo for certain time frame than charge after that. We'll see, but from what I noticed, you'd have to be a contortionist to pull your phone out of that zipped pocket after the restraint was down and locked. To add on here, the zippered pockets are not on the seat back in front of you, but on your seat front below you between your legs. Your calves rub up against the pocket if you brace yourself in that manner.
  6. Thanks, there are about a dozen our major parks that haven't made announcements. Some may have infrastructure upgrades like Liseberg's parking garages or some parks may be taking a break after huge CapEx spending in 2018 like Toverland. The popular/biggest park's we haven't read any new ride announcements from include but are not limited to: US: CGA, KD, KBF, SDC, Valleyfair Europe: Alton, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, EuropaPark, Liseberg, Toverland We know there are rumors are there about these and other parks, but we are waiting for news.

  8. Just like we did for 2011 - 2018 this thread will serve as a place to house a list of "what's new" for 2019 at major parks and links to the announcements. Discussions about individual rides and parks should continue in the appropriate discussion thread through the links in this thread. Rumors will not be included. 9. Thanks, I'm not sure why I wrote Millennium Flyers in the announcement post. I have corrected it.
  10. Based on the animation, right in front of the mountains.
  11. Kentucky Kingdom announces its sixth Coaster, Kentucky Flyer, a junior woodie from Gravity Group with a 40 inch requirement to ride! Stats: Manufacturer: Gravity Group Rolling Stock: Timberliners Length: 1280 Feet Drop: 52 degrees Top Speed: 35 MPH 54 degree banked turns 12 airtime elements My best attempt to stitch together a complete view from the video.
  12. ^Interesting. Is this replacing Challenge of Tutankhmaon or will the park have two shooting dark ride that can have different outcomes?
  13. I don't know the actual model of the pendulum ride, I'm sure someone will correct me.
  14. Andrew - thank you for posting the news
  15. It's easy ... in theory. The practicality of it right now is terrible though. Rush hour trains are SRO and the daily commuters are jerks (I can say that categorically as I've been commuting on NJT for 18 years). Secaucus is about as friendly as a tomb and half of the escalators aren't working on any given day. They can't run on time to save their lives. And when they held the Super Bowl out at MetLife the Secaucus shuttle was a nightmare. Also, if you're coming from Newark Airport, you actually need to take *3* trains to get there - the airport monorail from EWR to Newark Airport station, the NJT train from there going to Secaucus and then the Meadowlands train. In 5 years legislation will be introduced to add a direct route from Newark Airport Station to Meadowlands. Then is will take 3 years to pass and 3 more years to secure funding and 5 more years to build. So we are looking at 16 more years before a train. About the same time we waited for the Mall. That is my prediction, solely based on circumstantial evidence in the form of history.
  16. 2 hours at SDC is better than a whole day at Holiday World
  17. Traffic is gonna be like opening the gates of Hell. I'm both excited and want to kill myself at the same time. hopefully NJ Transit has a train running to the meadowlands more than just for giants and jets games when it opens. If you read, you don't need to hope!
  18. I think most people can guess. When the guessers put their thoughts in writing, that's when rumors start.
  19. Was it the Hershey's Kiss that shafted you also?
  20. The only thing scarier than the carnies are the carny fan boys. Two reasons I don't go to carnivals and fairs.
  21. The boy is college age, wow. I remember meeting you with him at Dollywood when he was a wee lad. I guess that was over ten years ago.
  22. To me, Indiana Beach's was the one to top with the most airtime in the US, but I don't know if they still run it the same.
  23. That's a bummer. Did you get to ride it in its former life at Hershey at least? It looks like it was removed from Hershey in 2002, so there is a good chance I rode it at Hershey, but I don't remember for sure.
  24. I think Conestoga was in pieces during both of my visits, I never rode it. I love flying carpet rides.
