  1. Today's update is from magic springs(unfortunately). I didn't really have high expectations going into this park, and they did not disappoint. This was definitely the worst park of the trip. Everything from the layout of the park, to 1 train operations on the coasters, to the world's slowest ride operations. It should NOT take 10 minutes to unload, load, and dispatch 1 train. The operators were in no hurry what so ever to dispatch a train. It was more important to them to check there cell phones and joke around with eachother. The log ride was fun if you can look past the slow staff, long line, and the fact that they only run a few logs for some reason. There was a lot of empty areas where it looked like there used to be a ride there. I would also not recommended anyone with a stroller or wheel chair to attempt this park. We had to chuckle at the fact that there were several people walking around with ankle bracelets on. The only positive thing this park has going for it was the X coaster. This thing was just crazy scary. It was a unique new type of thrill ride I have never experienced. The water park also looked inviting, but very buisy. Onto the pictures... After navigating the confusing parking lot, we arrived at the main gate. First stop on our way back to the coasters was the bumper cars. But with a LONG line, and only a couple of bumper cars we passed. Our next stop was the parks log flume. Fun flume ride, but with the world's slowest staff, and running only a few logs....get ready for an epic wait. The lay of the land Our first coaster we came across was this. A typical slc coaster Yea....credit horring time. One advantage of having kids, is that you don't look like a pedifile scoring credits. Next credit. I think this coaster was purchased from dollywood...correct me if I'm wrong. Hard to get any pictures of the ride since it's basically hidden in the trees. The best ride in the park. This is just a crazy coaster tgat need to be experienced.... unfortunately you have to go to Magic springs to ride it. The station Insane twist with a great view In our way to our last credit in the park, we ran across this ummm. Interesting food stand. Our last credit, on the opposite side of the park. This coaster is basically in the water park all by itself. Decent coaster, a bit ruff in spots. One last look at the train. A few random pictures of the park. The water park looked to be very popular. Probably not.... That's all from this park. On the road again. Next stop is the lone star state.
  2. No... We did not have tickets to the concert, nor did we even know they were there untill we got to the park. We were able to hear some of the concert while walking around the park. We were also able to watch the sound check from screeching eagles platform while waiting to ride.
  3. The more track that is put in place, the more it looks like The new Texas giant.
  4. Seaworld San antonio wave breaker. Vallyfair north star. Sfga joker
  5. I'm not the greatest at writing a trip report, but here it goes.... We left Michigan just over 2 weeks ago for our yearly mega coaster trip. This year we focused on mid America parks. Our first stop was Six Flags St Louis to pick up our season passes as we were going to be hitting several different six flags parks on this trip. We were also able to spend the majority of the day at the park, and were really impressed with our visit compared to our prior trip to the park. First the negatives... The only real negative was the show at the palace theater...it was horrid. It looked like it was out on by a bunch of amateurs. Other than that, everything was open(except the boomerang) and the staff was friendly and on Mark as far as dispatching coasters. There was also a switchfoot concert, and actually got to ride Batman with them. Cool guys. Onto some pictures. I will do 1 park at a time since there are so many. So let's start with Six flags St Louis. Well hello St louis And hello six flagd This year, they added a new ride Typical disk-o ride Six flags got it rite! Why can't cedar fair do This? The park had a really good parade. For lunch, I used the meal plan to score a chicken ceaser salad. There had to be 1/2 pound of chicken on it. Over the course of our trip, we found that six flags dinning plan was superior to cedar fairs meal plan. My personal favorite coaster in the park. It's hard to get much of this ride photographed. Durring this trip, we got to experience 3 different justice league rides. This coaster is also a lot of fun. Nice ride entrance...npt so comfortable ride. Worst show ever. But the park had several other entertainment options Batman doing it's thing. As we were eating, a family finished eating, and didn't even bother throwing there trash out. There was a trash can right by where I took this picture from. Within 5 min, a six flags employee cleaned it up. We had a great time at the park. Time to leave for our next park...magic springs.
  6. Remember...geauga lake has a bunch of really nice slides just sitting there right now. Eventually, they will end up somewhere.
  7. Taking breaks is for the weak. I consider it a major accomplishment when I fill up the tank and don't get out of the car again until I need more gas (which is awhile, since we're usually in Brit's Prius). Go hard or go home Lol...I'm the same way. Don't need to stop except for gas.
  8. I agree... Driving is a much better option for us as well. We don't mind the drive, and flying is becoming more of a headache by the day. Tommarow we are leaving Michigan to get down to six flags St Louis after I get off of work(9 hour drive). We are driving 6 hours tommarow, and getting up the next day and driving the final 3 hours.
  9. Oh god! Do you have a death wish?
  10. This exactly. Disney can do what they want with this attraction. Even if there was any truth to this, Disney could always choose not to use the speech that they were given and go a different direction with Hall of Presidents. But with the statement that Disney made the other day, I'm sure there is little truth to the story. All I know is that I won't be visiting Hall of Presidents for at least (I hope) four more years...
  11. ^Thank's for that info. One more thing about the parent swap..... One of our kids is in a stroller, can a stroller actually fit in the line? Most other parks have a parent wait in line, and then switch with the other parent at the exit of the ride.
  12. He can always say "grab them by the p####" or just make fun of disabled people, but that doesn't fit in with the Disney way of things.
  13. It did not burn down last night! Yes... The park has hired Sean Spicer to take all questions regarding mean streak 2.0. However, video recording of his responses is strictly prohibited.
  14. Hey TPR! We were able to score 2 day passes to sdc, and plan on hitting it up next week. Being that we have 2 full days now, we are skipping the purchase of fast lanes. Is there a good plan of attack to conquer this park? What coasters or rides should we get to early to avoid hour long lines? Also... 1. How is the bbq buffet restaurant? 2. Is the cinniman bread as good as Dollywoods? 3. Cave tour...yes or no? 4. Besides the bbq buffet, is there another good option to eat at? Keep in mind, we typically like to avoid the standard burger or chicken strip places. We really enjoyed the ham and beans restaurant at Dollywood, so maybe something along those lines. 5. How does the parent swap program work at this park? Does the whole party(infants and all) have to wait in line together, or one parent wait in line and the other be at the exit of the ride? 6. The park closes fairly early, so any recommendations for things to do in Branson at night? We have 3 kids, so something family friendly. Thanks for any suggestions!
  15. I don't have an issue with them, except recently I have noticed that some parks seem to be over selling them to the point that it drastically affects the stand by line. I know they claim to have limits on them, but let's be real... One ride at cedar point had a longer line for fast lane than standby. We are going on a mega coaster trip (14 parks), and plan on purchasing fast lane if needed at a few of the bigger parks. However....I never pre-purchase them because you never know what the crowds are going to be like on a certain day. I have seen people drop hundreds of dollars on them, and not even need them because the park was a ghost town that day.
  16. I'll be there next week. I'll try and get some pictures.
  17. That buffet seems interesting. May have to hit it up this weekend.
  18. Everything's been booked, and we are leaving a week from today. Trip report coming soon.
  19. Anybody have a lead on discount silver dollar city tickets? I can't seem to find ANY discounts on tickets(outside of a local $5 off mcdonald's coupon)? Being a family of 5, ticket prices add up fast so any discount helps. Thank you for any help.
  20. Nice trip report! I agree about this park being underrated. This park has a great selection of rides, and a great atmosphere to boot. We are planning a return trip there this summer.
  21. Was thinking about it, but we are not really water park people. We did however add adventureland into the mix. So now we are doing a few hours at world's of fun, and the rest at adventureland. We have been to wof several times, but my wife and the kids have never been to adventureland. It's right on the way to moa as well. Bonus for me, is that they have a new credit for me to score as well.
  22. Yea, we are looking forward to it. We are thinking of adding the meal plan onto our six flags season passes, as it will also save us a few bucks. At around $15-20 a meal at six flags, it can add up fast. Meal plan is only $100. I figured on this trip alone, we will get roughly 14 meals out of ot.
  23. I appreciate all the input. So this is mega trip 2017 V 3.0(hopefully the final version). Day 1...leave Michigan after work and drive 6-7 hours to six flags st louis. Stay the night a few hours from the park. Day 2... Finish drive to sfstl, process passes and burn a few hours. Leave park no later than 7, and drive halfway to magic springs. Stay the night. Day 3 Finish drive to magic springs and spend 4-5 hours there. Leave by 6pm and start driving to San Antonio. Drive 4 or 5 hours and stay the night. Day 4 Finish drive to San Antonio, check out a few things downtown like the Alamo, and river walk. Possibly go to sf fiesta for a bit. Stay the night. Day 5 Go to Six flags fiesta for the day. Stay the night. Day 6 Go to ZDT'S for an hour or 2, then head to seaworld for the day. Start driving to Dallas. Stay the night. Day 7 Finish drive to Dallas, and do sfot for the day. Stay the night. Day 8 Full day at soft. Stay the night. Day 9 Drive to frontier city theme park for the day. Stay the night. Day 10 Drive to silver dollar city and take advantage of the after 2pm/next day free deal. Stay the night. Day 11 Sdc for the day, and Lamberts for dinner. Drive an hour in the direction of worlds of fun and stay the night. Day 12 Finish drive to worlds of fun, spend a few hours in the park to see what's new since our last visit 2 years ago. Leave park no later than 7pm and start driving north in the direction of Nick universe. Stay the night. Day 13 Finish drive to Nick universe and mall of America. Spend the day. Stay the night. Day 14 Vallyfair for the day, and drive 2 hours to stay the night. Day 15 Finish drive to Bay beach park. Spend an hour or 2 at Bay beach, and head to sfga. Spend remainder of day at sfga. Stay the night. Day 16 Spend a few hours at sfga, and head home to Michigan. Unfortunately, it just made sense to cut out Kemah and pleasure pier out as it would have added quite a bit more driving and cost to the trip. Also, since we are planning on visiting sfog in the spring for a few days it made sense to skip it durring this trip. We are not concerned about not spending an entire day at sgstl or worlds of fun since we have been to those parks a few times before.
  24. Then why not go to St. Louis instead? It is literally on the route from Detroit to Dallas. SFOG-> Kemah is 12 hours of straight driving + 1 hour lost for change to Central time + time for food/bathrooms/gas. The only part of the loop you'd need to repeat might be a section of 94 in Michigan between I-69 and 23/275. That's not including the time needed to get to Georgia from Kings Island either, which is another 8 hours. That's 20+ hours of transit to pick up a season pass where there's a more convenient location to go anyhow. And you live 4-4 1/2 hours from Kings Island! Just go for a weekend! None of the Six Flags parks are two day parks if you have a QBot, but seriously, whether or not you spend 2 days at SFFT is really not the biggest concern on your schedule. We have also been to sfstl before, and it really is not a park we care to return to any time soon.
