It was dead when we were there as well. A park worker was telling us that they were slammed the day before we were there. -

It is. Just don't expect it to be a big thrill ride. It's the perfect family coaster. -

This next update is Huge, just like the park is. Today's stop brings us to Six flags over Texas. This is the first ever six flags park. We really did like this park, even though it had one of the most confusing layouts. The star of the show here is definitely the Texas giant. The Texas giant falls on my top 10 list...can you guess what number 1 is? While it is a great ride, it seemed to be lacking something. Can't put my finger on it though. I did enjoy the rattler more than this one. With that being said, let's move onto some pictures shall we? After driving around for 30 min to find the entrance due to the lack of signs, we finnaly arived! The titan makes itself known from the parking lot So does La Vibra History and stuff.... Here is the park entrance And look who was there to greet us! So we turned left, got lost, and found our first ride of the day. This dark ride uses boats. Fun ride, but maybe a bit outdated. Kids loved this one. Next up was the parks indoor coaster runaway mountain. Thank God there was no lines today. This was a fun coaster, plus it was air conditioned. After a brief breakdown, we got to ride. Fun coaster. Would have liked to ride it again during our visit, but kept getting side tracked and missed out. The parks scrambler looked like it was an original ride that opened with the park. Even the outdoor line had air conditioning piped in. With the hot weather, a ride on a log flume sounded good. So apparently, this log flume has two different channels. One was in use, this one was not. This flume was just ok. Apparently it was the first one ever built. So....we came across this giant of a coaster. This coaster is huge! First drop Most of the layout. Notice how it looks very similar to the mean streak version? I'm loving the theaming of the train. Station theaming I loved the chicken coop waiting area in the station. Not only was it a perfect place to complete our parent swap, but it also made chicken noises. Anybody know what the white brackets are for on the first drop? Brake run One last look at Texas giant. I love this shot. In the western area, they have this hilarious show. The staff was kind enough to let us take a picture with them. La Vibra is a bobsled coaster. These are becoming rare. Lift hill Station shot Some of the layout. One last look Time for a spin on the parks train. But first, you have to buy tickets from this guy. Wanted to check this ouy, but it was closed This was a pretty interesting spin and puke ride. Interesting.... This was one hard coaster to find Very hard to get a decent shot of this coaster. Station shot It was a decent coaster...nothing too exciting The riddler. I'm not sure, but this version seemed bigger than other versions I have been on. It also had a hell of a light package The Texas version of the spinning coaster A few looks at it spinning Station shot. We're only about half way through the Texas six flags park. Look for much more tomorrow. -

Crazy day today, so update will have to wait till tomorrow. But here is some Whataburger to hold you over.....Btw, not sure what all the fuss is about? It was good, but not by any means earth shattering. Now I just need to eat at a in and out burger. -
Looks like we are going to pass up going to Universal in the spring. This is one of my favorite rides in Florida. I just can't justify spending $100 per person x 5, to go into a park with a bunch of screen based dark rides. We are not big Harry potter fans, so that don't appeal to us. It seems like they are alienating all non Harry Potter fans from there parks. Extra days at Busch gardens and seaworld for us!

I wonder if the haunted house inside of mean streak will open this year with all the construction? If so, it will make for some good pictures. -

This update takes place from our next park Seaworld San antonio. While I really did enjoy this park, it seemed like it was lacking a handful of attractions. Maybe it's because I am used to the Orlando park, but none the less we had a great time. The one thing about this park is that there is a bit of a walk between attractions. But that walk is full of nice landscaping. The new sea rescue coaster was not a big thrill coaster, but it is perfect fun for family's. We were a bit perplexed st the layout of this park, as a section of it is located outside of the gates. If you wanted to, you could enter the park and go see the dolphins and sharks without paying to enter the park. We actually had to exit the park to see these attractions. We visited the day after the 4th of July, and the crowds were very light. A few of the workers were saying that they were slammed the day before. Onto some pictures.... Today's park First coaster of the day It's a Morgan hypercoaster It was kinda hard to get a decent picture of this coaster Uncovered station shot. The supports for this ride are huge This is the parks new attraction You are seated on jet ski's. I found the lap bars to be a little odd. This is the biggest hill of the coaster The line and area around the ride are landscaped nicely I imagine that people would be greatful that most the line is covered on those hot Texas days. Station shot The penguin house is a great way to cool down and check out some penguins. Great white is a B&M inverted coaster. I believe it's another Batman clone. My kind of wait Just like the sign said....no wait. Yes...the park was dead today This was an interesting water ride...journey to Atlantis This water coaster has a reverser table Lift hill porn Big splash!! Keeping in line with showing pictures of coaster stations...here ya go. Time to see the star of the park. I loved and appreciated the cover over the stadium We had great seats in the splash zone And we did get soaked My daughter was thrilled This park has a great kids area full of water features. They also had the ss characters on hand The pet show is basically the same as the Florida version...and that's a good thing. The kids loved how they let you interact with the animals after the show The sea lion show was one of our favorite shows Yep....they have dolphins as well This was pretty cool Here are a few pictures from inside The coral displays were amazing I got a chuckle out of this one The next show was the beluga whale show. This was another great looking stadium. The evening shamu show was great! The final show of the night was at the ski stadium. It was a combination of awsome rock music and water ski, and jet ski. It was really hard to get a picture of the ski portions of the show. That's it from seaworld...next stop is the original six flags park. Six flags over Texas. -

It was a fun coaster. My favorite part is when you drop off the lift over the top of the quarry(Next to a shopping mall). -

I HIGHLY recommend it. -
The hornet coaster was originally built at Boblo island amusement park on the Detroit river. It was an indoor coaster that went by the name "nightmare".When that park closed, it was bought by six flags and rebuilt at astroworld. Once astroworld closed, it was bought by its current owner. I was one of the first people to ride it at Boblo island. It was located inside this building.(top picture)

Some more pictures from six flags fiesta Texas. The ambiance of this park is top notch. Park map The parks bumper cars. What's up with the large, unused area? The s&s tower is an eye catcher I guess this water rides days are numbered Just once for the credit. Yep...its a boomerang I love this coaster! RMC goodness I love how the coaster incorporates the quarry walls. The park also has a spinning chicken coaster. To escape the heat, we went to check out one of the parks shows. Can't recall the name of the theater, but it was huge! The water rides were a popular option on this 100 degree day. This is the parks new attraction The boardwalk area really pops at night The parks train ride has a twist This one goes right thru a quarry wall They also have a Scooby doo dark ride A few more pictures of batman There is a short, indoor section of the line that is inside and has some great theaming Our of all 3 of this type of coaster we were able to ride on this trip, this one was the best. It seemed to spin a LOT more than the others. Here are a few random pictures of the park. The park had these history boards all around the park...nice Log flume entrance Boomerang at light speed Roadrunner express diograhm Power surge I say....thats it from fiesta Texas. Next stop is seaworld San Antonio. -

Yes, fiesta Texas is a great park. I do have to say that of all the six flags and cedar fair parks we went to on this trip, six flags has cedar fair beat. Not only on park experience, but even service and cleanliness. The only exception would "maybe" be six flags great America. Lot's more pictures and parks coming soon. -

The next park of our trip was probably my favorite...Six flags fiesta Texas. Not only was the theaming on par with universal, but it was also clean. This did not feel like a traditional six flags park. The iron rattler was my 2nd favorite coaster of the trip(#1 Will be disclosed later in the trip report). I loved everything about this park. I took a lot of pictures from this park, so there will be a few updates. We have arrived Is this really a six flags park? We just couldn't get past the theaming and cleanliness of this park Our first credit of the day Batman and hustler The kids had a blast on hustler Next we checked out the parks log flume ride. Even the line was theamed This park has a nice fest house style restaurant. This coaster was really fun Interesting ride. Same thing as flight of fear, just without the building Spaghetti bowl Yes....we are at six flags Superman and star flyer The setting for this park is just pure awsomeness Goliath is the parks inverted coaster. It's located in the very front of the park. At first, it was kinda hard to find because it's in a weird location. If you like the Batman clones, you will love this coaster The park has a nice star flyer Awsomeness Credit horring time Lot's more coming from fiesta Texas....stay tuned. -

A few bonus pictures of the drive to Texas. There is a place called "Buckies" that is only located in Texas. They have several locations in the state. I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out. This place is huge! They have 200 gas pumps, giant wall of candy, beef jerky, freshly made sandwiches, and anything else you could want on a road trip. And don't forget to try the beaver nuggets as well. We also stopped by Magnolia, and the Alamo. This is what 200 gas pumps looks like. Everything you could want. We also stopped by magnolia market from the HGTV show. As soon as you get into Texas, they make sure to remind you where you are. Even our breakfast at the hotel had waffles in the shape of Texas. And of course if your in Texas, you have to visit the Alamo. Unfortunately, you can't take pictures inside. That's it from the Alamo....next stop is Six Flags fiesta Texas.
