  1. They are not the same ride. 1. Six flags has a dual load station(although they dont use it anymore). Its taller, and has an large bunny hop after the tower. 2. Six flags has a drop tower ride that they have to coordinate with before they can launch a train. Best drop ride I have been on btw... 3. I doubt either park regrets having a record breaking coaster that dominates the skyline. Sure it costs them some coin to keep them going, but both coasters keep the turnstiles clicking by quite a bit. Not to mention the fast lane passes sold just because of them. Just about every person I talk to that is planning on going to cedarpoint, brings up how great dragster is. 4. Most(if not all) intamin coasters, seem to require more maintenance and I assume part costs as well. I think that's why most parks have moved on from intamin and are going with other manufacturers. Dont get me wrong, I love the coasters they built, but let's be honest....they are not the most reliable. They push the envelope. A company like B&M builds the same ride over and over. They may change the order of elements but its pretty much the same thing as the previous design and build. If a company like B&M (I use them since this site seems to consider them the staple of reliability) were to start building LSM, LIM and hydraulic launch coasters I bet they would see more down time as well. They do. Thunderbird at holiday world and hulk at universal studios comes to mind. They dont have any issues with those rides(as far as I know). I agree that intamin pushes the envelope. They have some great rides. The problem is reliability. The general public LOVES B&M coasters. Not to mention that they are work horses with very little down time, and have great capacity. If you were a park, what direction would you go? Now mind you, both coasters are going to bring in the crowds. A. Buy a great coaster from intamin that is going to have high maintenance costs and many days of down time. B. Buy a great coaster from B&M that is reliable and not likely to have as much downtime. I just wish that intamin could get the reliability issues under control. They built some great rides.

  3. I have a hard time believing Great Adventure regrets have the tallest coaster in the world and fastest ride in the the U.S. in their park. They also regret building the number one rated wooden coaster
  4. Not really. It all depends on your body type/hight/build. I personally dont have an issue with them, but know people that do.
  5. We passed on going to the park today with the weather forecast. Did anybody grab a video of the final witches wheel ride?
  6. Coasters are machines...they are going to go down occasionally.
  7. Thanks for that info on the EZ pass. I would never had known. We just purchased a new car, and forgot to remove our sun pass from the car(it was hidden behind the rear view mirror). We just depleted the balance on it during our last trip down there this summer.
  8. I dont understand why we have to continue to compare the 2 park chains. Both chains are getting some great rides. They ALL look like a blast, and I can't wait to ride them. Both park chains have pros and cons. With that being said, I wonder if the theaming in the video will carry into real life? I'm loving the barn theme and launch area.
  9. For comparison, here is a picture we took a few years ago while visiting the park. Trip report from Camden park.... http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=70604&hilit=Camden+park
  10. Camden park has made it's way into a popular video game. Fallout 76 will feature the park. From what I gather, the basis of the game is to rebuild after the apocalypse. You can watch the game trailer here... Fyi...the Camden park part is almost at the end.
  11. Well...it "is" the first floorless coaster in the state. Just about every park that announces a new ride that is a first for that state, cashes in on that.
  12. I'm happy with all the announcements from both chains. Did they steal something from B&M's playbook with the jojo roll?
  13. I will be where the der twister ride is currently Ok, thanks. I was under the impression that it was replacing the billiard theamed teacups ride, but the picture didn't quite match up with that assumption.
  14. Any ideas as to where this ride will be placed?
  15. Sad news.... Unfortunately, the single rider regulars at Cedar Point lost a beloved member of our close knit family. Dave Hollo, who was known to marathon Top Thrill Dragster has passed away after part of a house tragically collapsed on him. David will be greatly missed by all of us that knew him including some of his best friends, Henry Sievers (Mean Streak Henry), Ralph, and Ron Burke. If there is a Heavenly version of Top Thrill Dragster, I'm sure David is looking over all his friends right now right before falling backward getting a beloved rollback. Rest in Peace Dave. 16. To be fair, it only ran 1 of the 3 days we were at the park.
  17. Looks like the park is closing today due to a power outage. Man...cedar fair needs to start paying there electric bills.
  18. It was running when I was there over a month ago...
  19. Is Millennium Force still down? I hear it's been down for 3 days now.
  20. Oh sh*t, sorry. I didn't know you were both a Diamond Elite member AND a member of the prestigious "Texas Thrillseekers" Facebook group. In that case, yeah... get your last rides in now.
  21. Looks like the park is making some kind of announcement today. (Edit) It was posted yesterday, saying that it was tomorrow. But it says the 30th.
