  1. What if Golden Horse makes it? All kidding aside, as long as any reliable manufacturing such as Mack, Intamin, or B&M makes this, I am very happy.
  2. It makes no sense. On the plus side, you can calculate how long your wait will be.
  3. I know it used to have one which I heard was a test for possibly using it elsewhere, but I think at some point that test concluded. Evidently they decided not to move forward because I haven't seen any others. Delirium was using its single rider line last month. The park uses the single rider line very oddly though. They let two single riders on each cycle regardless of the standby line or the number of seats available.
  4. The other factor is if I'm going to marathon a ride. I prefer Vortex to Woodstock Express at Great America, but if I had to pick one to ride 10 times in a row, I would pick Woodstock Express based on comfort.
  5. I don't really need an excuse to go to an amusement park, but having an extra reason makes a trip more likely.
  6. On Saturdays, other than Gold Striker, Tiki Twirl, and Grizzly, all of the rides were half hour waits or less. The other three were 45-60 minutes in length, but on a weekday, that should be much less.
  7. There have been tons of ideas like this mentioned in this thread. I think the realistic outcome would be a racing RMC overlay with new elements added, or possibly the two tracks combined for a long RMC ride! Also if Six Flags did have two separate tracks, what is the liklihood one would be closed most of the time?
  8. The first time I rode Apollo's Chariot, it was in the front row. I remember coming off thinking that it was a very fun ride, but severely overrated. My ride in the back seat changed all that. Those drops are long and jampacked with air. I honestly prefer the back on Griffon for more airtime on the drops, but agree with the front row on Alpengeist.
  9. Crush's Coaster, which is the closest comparison, is fairly popular with crowds at Disneyland Paris so Hersheypark most likely did their research. Most guests won't realize this is an off the shelf coaster, and that's what matters most.
  10. I definitely prefer if a ride is smooth, but I can enjoy a ride that is aggressive as long as it is bringing the intensity. While many enthusiasts bash Boomerangs, I actually enjoy them (outside of Canada's Wonderland's Bat). The one type of roughness I have an issue with is when my ears get bashed around. This isn't as big of an issue on sit down coasters since I'm tall enough that my ears are above the restraints, but it is an issue on inverts and stand-up coasters.
  11. Six Flags New England was pretty good with the Sky Screamer if I remember correctly. If anything, the park gets in trouble for jumping the gun with construction (cough: Dark Knight, cough).
  12. I think the Mauer-Sohne and Mack spinners spin better than the Gerstlauer ones that face inwards. Though I find the ones with all of the riders on the same side (like the Zamperla ones) spin the best.
  13. I agree, the snow could be a big issue. A lot of the New England parks like to start construction before the heavy snow kicks in and then they finish once the snow melts away.
  14. The inversions help the park make the ride more marketable. While enthusiasts may find it gimmicky, the park wants to maximize its return on investment and to the general public, inversion sounds better than air-time. Mean Streak's layout is fairly similar to the Texas Giant, so something along those lines may be likely though.
  15. Do I wish that Hershey had a custom layout? Sure, I would have preferred that. Having said that, Laff Trak looks fantastic. As much as the Dark Knight coasters are made fun of, I really enjoy them and find them better than 90% of wild mouse coasters out there. The theming, while simple, combined with the darkness makes the ride feel so much faster. Honestly, I think Laff Trak could end up being like Kennywood's Exterminator. The typical spinning wild mouse layout is fun but nothing special. Kennywood did a fantastic job with Exterminator and anyone who has ridden it can agree with me that it is a very fun and unique attraction. When the models are outdoors, I prefer the Mauer-Sohne spinners to the Reverchon/Zamperla ones, so I think this could be a very nice attraction. My one concern lies with its capacity. I rode Undertow at the Boardwalk earlier this summer and it had lines of almost an hour despite trains being dispatched in about 30 second intervals.
  16. I'm glad to hear that they got the 4th row reopened. The park really pumps out trains on Superman, but with the ride's already limited capacity and the fact that it's a headliner attraction, being down 2 seats was a big issue.
  17. I agree. Run to Superman right away and get as many rides as you would like on it then. The line will only get worse as the day progresses. Yesterday, I was able to get on it twice with a 15-20 minute wait an hour after opening, but when I returned around 5, the line appeared to be 1 1/2-2 hours. Medusa had a 20-30 minute wait in the afternoon. Most people head to Medusa right away, so that line is worst at the park's opening. Boomerang, Kong, and Roar were all 15-20 minute waits. V2 was a one to two train wait all day. Sky Screamer had a 45-60 minute wait all day as well. Other than that, the flats weren't bad. Then the river rapids ride gets an extremely long line as well if you are interested in it.
  18. That's very good to hear. In past seasons, I've found dispatches to be on the slow side due to the number of people that have to take the walk of shame. Also, does anyone have a bad feeling that Six Flags may try and run Mind Eraser backwards? The coaster's popularity has been waning and it seems like something they would do. My head shudders at the idea so I pray that I am wrong.
  19. You saying that you don't like the El Toro clown car?
  20. Russia is considered part of Europe depending who you ask. I had some textbooks in middle school that called it part of Europe.
  21. I'm thinking an issue with the seat belts is more likely since the row wasn't open all day and looked as clean as a whistle.
  22. I actually liked the 45 degree angle tower. The hangtime on the barrel roll was my favorite part.
  23. I think Spain should be the next country added. It's a fairly popular destination for American tourists and has quite a bit of culture.
  24. No explanation was given. At first, I thought they may have been reserving the row for Flash Pass riders when I saw it empty while waiting in line, but when I got to the station, I saw a sign saying the row was closed.
