  1. I wonder how far out the entrance the line for Candymonium extended for that line! I admittedly started with it when I visited Hersheypark on a weekday over the summer since it was the main reason for me visiting and I wanted to make sure I rode it just in case it went down (even though it was unlikely considering it was a B&M hyper). Almost the entire queue building was filled and I think that took 60 minutes.
  2. Great Adventure has quite a bit of security too at night. And on both my HallowFest visits this year, I saw fights break out in the parking lot so it was definitely warranted.
  3. On one hand, it'd be great to see this park use their infinite amount of land. On the other hand, that would make me want to go back there.
  4. Most importantly, we'd have Moose on the Loose in December!
  5. It's hard to observe the pot smoking because of all the fog, but you can definitely smell the difference!
  6. I was stunned Roar had two trains going in my visit, but it was needed on Wild One. I wish that coaster was still in Massachusetts as it would have been just 15 minutes from my parents' house. That SLC is among the worst out there and I've gone a decade without riding it. I have no intention of ever riding it again. Firebird (in the back) is a ride I'll ride at least once every visit. The only bad part in that row is the exit from the corkscrew, but I agree the park's other coasters are mostly better.
  7. Nice report! Wasn't it 45-50 degrees today? El Toro struggles a bit in the cold, as evidenced by how it valley a few weekends ago on a test run. I thought it was running fast once it warmed up in my October visits. On those days, the high was 60-65 and it got down to 50-55 at night. As for row requests, it varies wildly by operator. I'll ask on the rides where it makes a difference to me and if I get the row I want, great! If not, I just roll with it and am thankful the park is open.
  8. Nice report! Superman wasn't loading every row earlier this month, but I'm not surprised considering they were trying to pair groups up at Batwing when I was there. Both those coasters were only running one train for me and I'm guessing it was the same for you? I enjoyed Firebird in the back, but it was awful in the front.
  9. If that layout is correct, it looks like there's a non-inverting loop midway through the ride. That would be really disorienting on a spinner. Each side can be different. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but the green side on Six Flags New England's Joker gives more flips than the purple side. Meanwhile the purple side tends to give less flips, but you're more likely to get one on the raven turn.
  10. ^ Aw man, Hellevator was just a turbo drop for me last year at the PNE. I'm just glad it held me at the top for the view!
  11. Did the Flash Pass return times shoot up like a rocket once 6 pm hit? At Great Adventure, 6 pm is the time the evening Halloween activities officially start. The Flash Pass return times were under 10-15 minutes before 6 pm, but after 6 pm most became 45-60 minutes.
  12. Over the summer when I tried calling Dollywood to check if Lightning Rod was running, I was on hold for over an hour. Someone eventually did pick up though for me. In the past, I remember getting through to the park almost immediately over the phone. I'm guessing there was increased volume and less staff to take calls this year.
  13. Last Sunday, the Gold Flash Pass return times were under 10 minutes for most rides until 6 pm. 6 pm is when the Halloween activities officially start. Once that time hit, several rides had 45-60 minute return times on Flash Pass.
  14. The seats look similar to that old S&S Sky Sling ride that a few parks got in the early 2000s. This is a really cool way to breathe life into a pre-existing drop tower and I'd love to see a few parks try it. Considering Six Flags's relationship with S&S and their willingness to renovate pre-existing attractions as new additions, I have a hunch they may be the first to try this out.
  15. It's valid for the rest of 2020 as well. If you plan to use it on a specific day, you just have to reserve it in advance on the Six Flags reservation portal.
  16. I always stick to Gold unless a specific ride is a Platinum exclusive. By the time the employees scan my Flash Pass unit and I get off the ride, usually my next reservation is ready to go.
  17. I had a similar experience at Indiana Beach where one of the operators criticized me for wearing a mask saying it was useless. I still think the craziest thing I heard from a ride op this year was the 9/11 joke one of them told at Holiday World. That was after the same employee mentioned the comedy shows of today can't compete with the classics...like SpongeBob.
  18. Great report! The return times with the Flash Pass at Great Adventure this past weekend were equally as crazy. But I would much rather be strolling around the midway rather than packed into a bunch of switchbacks with others right now. That's a bummer Wonder Woman was taken off the Flash Pass, but that does make sense with the reduced capacity. I always find it awkward trying to get to Flash Pass merge points that are inside the main queue. I had a similar issue at Dollywood earlier this year trying to get to the Timesaver entrance for Lightning Rod when the queue spilled onto the midway.
  19. Six Flags Great America has been given permission to reopen for Holiday in the Park...sort of. The park can open, but they cannot operate any rides. News Article- WGNTV
  20. I have a few water resistant masks that I've worn at water parks this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff has to wear masks. I think it was Splashin' Safari where the staff had to wear masks.
  21. The park reached out a second time to clarify about the Toothless water coaster. Single riders can ride, but they cannot ride alone. They will send a lifeguard around with single riders.
  22. I heard back from the park. Single riders are allowed on the water coaster as long as they are 150 lbs.
  23. ^ Whoops I didn't realize you were the one who commented on Facebook. Should have realized it with the name! I messaged the park for clarification.
  24. Great report! Did you see any single riders on the water coaster? I want to visit only if I can ride the water coaster. Based on the sign saying "Up to 4 Riders" unlike some of the other raft slides that say "2 to 4 Riders" it looks like I can ride as long as I hit the 150 lb minimum.
