Just got back from seeing Weezer at the Hard Rock in Vegas. We saw them both nights when they were playing at the Gibson from the balcony and decided we needed to see the show closer. They announced the Vegas show and we jumped at the chance. I was a bit worried that we didn't get VIP tickets and wouldn't be close, but we ended up front row leaning against the rail. Awesome.

Not exactly. I said they are going to have a similar undefeated playoff run - mostly due to the weak, inferior Eastern division that is no competition to them. In the West that year they certainly would not have run through it as the Lakers did.

I dunno - I see the Cavs having a run like the 2001 Lakers at least up until the finals. It's pretty obvious that they will be 8-0 once this Hawks series is done and they have pretty much been on cruise control. If Boston makes it they are going to be too tired (and LeBron too motivated after last year) and if it's Orlando they will dismantle them. There really is no doubt who is coming out of the East at this point.

I actually find it to be the most interesting divisional round in years. Sure, it's got different teams than usual - but the matchups are great. Tennesse/Baltimore sould be everything playoff football should be. Giants/Eagles for the 3rd time should be good. Chargers getting hot right at the right time. And my Panthers having the easiest match-up doesn't hurt

Totally agreed Beemer. The division winner getting an automatic playoff spot when there were 2/3 divisions was fine but being the best out of only 4 teams should not earn you a playoff spot. I say top 2 divison winners get byes and the next 6 teams are based purely on records would be the way to go.

In no particular order and probably swayed towards the pretty movies I've watched on my new Blu-Ray player recently: 1. Gran Torino - any movie with Clint Eastwood being an old, racist bastard is great for me. 2. Sunshine - One of the better done Sci-Fi movies I've seen in years. (Just looked at IMDB and I guess this was 2007, but whatever. 3. Wall-E - so freakin cute. 4. Dark Knight - what everyone else said. 5. The Wrestler - just an amazing performance by Micky Rourke.

Being the winners of quite possibly the worst season from a single division in the history of the NFL really isn't much to be proud about. I despise the Patriots, but it's a crime that an 8-8 team made it into the playoffs over an 11-5 team.

That game just proved why neither of these teams are going to make it to the playoffs. Just sad, but being a Robbie Gould fantasy owner, I sure did enjoy the last 10 minutes.

While not the best, I have a soft spot in my heart for the first concert I ever went to - Blue Oyster Cult at the (then) Sun Theatre. I would say the best was the Zwan show I went to see at the Roxy back around 2002. The opener (Abandoned Pools) ended up completely stealing the show and delivering the most rockin' performance I've ever seen. The memory of the whole crowd being blow back by the first riffs of their set still gives me chills.

Given the fact that Lamar Odom is currently about the most high profile "sixth man" in the league, I would imagine Ariza will get overlooked no matter how nice of a season he has. Games like this scare me; bringing back bad habits from last season that killed them in the end.
